  1. They look to be of different sizes... like a big coil and a small coil? +1 on all the suspension coil suggestions....
  2. Good point, I was just on my way back inside to read that Id seen a fan type thing inside the alternator casing... Thanks!
  3. Hes correct. You need a dual range transmission. Its found in the 85-89 4WD GLs. Didnt come stock in the Turbos or the Loyales. Those, although 4WD are Push-button single range transmissions... D/R = 2WD, 4-HI, 4-LO P/B = 2WD, 4-HI
  4. GD or Idasho: Can you use the fan still on the Maxima alternator? Its on the first picture that Idasho has, but not the second one? Id think you could, the spacer would just be shorter would it not?
  5. Tsk tsk... knock on wood* Here in Oregon they do pull you over for it... We had to ziptie one onto the 240sx because it didnt have a front bumper so he had it displayed in the windshield, still got a fix-it ticket for it I may just get one and put it on for show purposes
  6. What alternator are you using? Stock alternator or an aftermarket?

  7. Have you driven the EA81? GeneralDisorder swapped an EA81 into my EA71 powered 84 DL sedan with a Weber 32/36... I loved it... more power
  8. Sweet another Oregonian! How about that May weather yesterday made me wish I was not in Oregon thats for sure. Is that EA82 and EA81 in your arsenal? Which is your favorite?
  9. Nice! Enkei wheels right?? More details on the Aluminum Falcon?
  10. Lucky on the state part too In Oregon I have to have a front and rear plate with valid tags on both... so I couldnt run one of those plates unless I did it in the front glass or next to my other plate. But then again... If I got on in Japanese NED 108... then my plates would match the same letters/numbers? I want one stupid Oregon. Your LC is lookin good Tom! Id take those over a 4Runner!
  11. Welcome aboard! Youll find lots of useful information, and some nice XT's out there Come to WCSS as mentioned :-p show off your XT and see some of the nice ones built by members (as well as many other Subarus for you to drool over) Pics
  12. a stock 2004 WRX is turbo'd - the TD04... but we need to get back on the weber topic
  13. Doubt it, down pipe is where the turbo and headers meet isnt it? You dont have a turbo... Id just get new exhaust from the y-pipe back to a decent muffler and itll sound better.. Back on topic... Go with the weber, you WONT regret it... itll pay for itself in sheer smiles on your face when you open the secondaries. Ive been driving cars w/ webers for 2 years now, 3 vehicles and have loved the feel of each of them!
  14. Depends on your exhaust for sure... The weber on my 84 GL sounded good up front with the secondaries open but the exhaust sucked... same story on my 84 DL... Now my 86 GL NED sounds sooo amazing but I cheated haha... (2.5" glasspack)
  15. I think most people go with the exedy xt6 clutch.... But then there was a thread about it being hard to find... its in the retrofitting section... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=132719
  16. NED had lifter tick... even after a resealed oil pump... So GD had me remove the lifters and he sent them in to Mizpah to be rebuilt. Then we put a new gasket on a low mileage oil pump (or new I dont recall) and the lifter tick went away. Its come back a few times when I forget to check the oil, but as soon as I hear it I top it off on the dipstick and the tick goes away.
  17. I see it better now. I dont have any torn apart EA82s so I cant see that port... but on yours it looks like it belongs there... so I doubt its a defect.
  18. I sold a set with good tires for $600 It wasnt easy, but they look good. As for ruining them, if he likes this color on the car, he will probably get a professional powdercoat later on, the silver is just really dull... Gunmetal will be the preferred color if they get powdercoated.
  19. Different oil pumps? that hole looks broken to me, doesnt look like a clean hole machined to be there.... Heres a picture of a pump like mine, no hole (too lazy to upload mine, sorry)
  20. Looks broken to me and when I look at an old oil pump here, I dont have that... Best to replace the mickey mouse gasket and the oil pump... will probably stop the TOD... Could be the cause of the air bubbles as well, someone else would have to chime in there
  21. Got another set for ya! Head hurts from so much painting today... My friends 2001 Legacy GT got de-rimmed today for some painted snowflakes... took several hours as we sanded each wheel, coat of primer, 2 coats paint, 2 coats clear coat... came out really nice Sittin on the floor: Up at the store for photo op...
  22. Not that I know of, there is an "insert image" button... its yellow, has 2 mountains and a sun... kinda small.... But idk if you can use it yet (being a new poster and all)
