  1. Search for tires is on... I think you should get 185/70/13... they are easy to find, pretty cheap (around 200 for a new set) and they fill up the wheel well pretty easily
  2. Its been discussed a few times... Stubies_Subie found an LED reader board that he could put there. But if I had the spot open and didnt mind resoldering the clock (or having it done) I would put the screen to a back-up camera there...
  3. Looks like Ill snag some goof-off then... the car needs a bath anyway
  4. He answered that one... Are you doing a HG job? Cuz heads dont have to come off to get them out... Unless youre doing this out of the car and it doesnt matter, taking the heads off is just extra...
  5. 4100 @ 65!? HTF (How the eff) Im at like 75 @ 3000... Edit: Nevermind, lift and bigger tires huh? Idk, Ive personally seen some very abused EJ18s and EJ22s that just keep taking the abuse... whereas Ive seen an abused EA82T running on 3 cylinders, pushed too hard to get the power and then pegging the temp... Personally, if you want a real NOTICEABLE performance upgrade and reliability upgrade, toss the money out for an EJ swap... you wont regret it and youll definitely get more miles out of it.
  6. Fast/Reliable/Cheap Choose 2... EA82T could be cheap and *semi* fast but not very reliable (terrible motor, cooling issues, bad design, search EA82T) EJ22 is fast and way more reliable than the EA82T (115vs135 horsepower roughly and bulletproof) Reliable and cheap... EA81 swap it
  7. Why rebuild that one? Youll probably spend just as much rebuilding it as you could to EJ22 swap it... and the EJ22 is N/A and non-interference +20 horsepower.... Just curious
  8. If youve got ticking lifters, replace the mickey mouse gasket and o-ring on the oil pump... or if the oil pump is really old, try to replace the whole thing.
  9. They arent difficult. Obviously gotta remove some stuff. Timing belts, valve covers and cam towers need to come off too. Get some assembly lube to put them back on... itll hold them in place so you dont drop them... If youre rebuilding them it doesnt matter much, but if you are just removing them... make sure to know which slot they came from
  10. What do you guys use for adhesive remover? Safe on paint would be a huge bonus. Had the wise idea to duct tape my trunk closed while latch was busted, but theres still adhesive and I dont want to repaint the car just yet, so Id like to avoid it.
  11. After a rock took out my right blinker, I got a new lens, took both off and cleaned them up... MUCH BETTER! (left one looks dim because I was at a weird angle, they are both as clear as day now. Also, trunk latch got bent from sister trying to close trunk while lever in the car was in the unlocked/opened position... So got a new one... completely straight, and now trunk closes perfectly... No duct tape needed Also done: New stereo installed Clock resoldered (being put in tonight, thanks Stubies_Subie) Still to do: Oil change New wheels/tires Painted corner markers
  12. 1.8L Mine doesnt stay on either, Im gonna swap to a Loyale wheel.
  13. Mines going in the spare tire area... might as well, who needs spares
  14. Good luck! Hope you can find and fix that problem Just out of curiousity, why modify stock air box and not use the aftermarket?
  15. Gotta pass as long as your vehicle is 34 years old and younger Some exceptions
  16. They are stupid sometimes... Brakes for a 92 Loyale dont fit my 86 GL yet its the same thing. If the part number is what GD recommends, do it. We put a 225mm clutch for EA82 on my EA71 (with EA81 swapped in) with no issues, in GDs shop... he knows his stuff
  17. Not for me either, but I didnt wanna get in trouble by saying DO IT
  18. Everyone is having issues finding it... Maybe they are finding a solution here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=132719
  19. Roughly Id say 8 months... maybe 6 months... He answered your question, though... hollowing out your cats can be considered illegal, so in no way are we condoning the idea
  20. PM Gloyale Hes got them in his: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=1084032&postcount=17
  21. Credit goes to OBK25XT... First EA82 I saw with a cherrybomb, asked him about it, went up, heard it and got mine installed by him I just have the video because people who werent in the same state wanted to hear the rumble, so I posted a video for them
  22. Ya know, I... *thinks* I may have done something like this... drove like 100 miles... then was cleaning out engine bay and got some water in the exhaust piping and started the car and watched it flow out of the glasspack (incline) and indeed I think Ned is a lot louder now than he was before then...
  23. A loyale seat will fit in a GL (EA82 to EA82) A legacy/impreza seat will need fab work (EJ18/EJ22 to EA82) XT/XT6 seats - 3 holes line up, one needs fab work or just left (3 should be secure enough) I believe Gloyale has Outback heated seats in his Loyale... but again, fab work Dont know about the EA81 series cars though... but yours is an EA82T right?
