  1. At least on EA81s... The clutch disc was 200mm FWD vs 225mm 4WD (those numbers could be slightly off) and will differ for the EA82 discs Im sure...
  2. OBK25XT installed my glasspack where my muffler was... I also have hollowed out cats... but heres what mine sounds like: Its quite loud.
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-1994-Subaru-1-8-GL-DL-Loyale-Timing-Belt-Kit-EA82-/300682843381?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46021814f5&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/85-94-1-8-SUBARU-TURBO-NON-TURBO-TIMING-BELT-KIT-EA82-/160521728416?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item255fd731a0&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/85-94-1-8-SUBARU-NON-TUR-TURBO-TIMING-BELT-KIT-EA82T-/400176384460?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d2c5f09cc&vxp=mtr Thats 3 kits... Dont know which is best quality... Id search the descriptions as well as maybe get some opinions, but they are all around $65 which is a lot less than Napa... thanks for that lesson I wont go there lol. Heres what #15001 fits: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/compatibility-chart/B001B5E5QI/ref=au_pf_dp_chart Heres what #15008 fits: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/compatibility-chart/B001B5LSTA/ref=au_pf_dp_chart So if I had to guess, Id say #15001 is a 2WD clutch and #15008 is a 4WD clutch...
  4. The 86 GL bumper is still big. I don't like it. If you do though lemme know amd I may just swap you. Thinking I will just have a flat bumper made so lays flush with body lines and call it done
  5. It has been posted for sale, last I checked, he was asking 4500... I dont see it now. Its a sweet wagon... I knew a few people wanting it but nothin ever went through.
  6. Will do then, may just sell them with low miles once Im done since lowering will come soon... will price out, if Honda coilovers are just as expensive, Ill lower on brand new suspension rather than replace with stock suspension. Will check this today as well since the car is here
  7. Will check this tomorrow, and report back, thanks! I have considered brand new struts as the car does need em on all four corners but I will be lowering soon so I think I will just live with it if its related to the strut as those will come off when I lower it..
  8. Thats so crazy! An EA71 in a 1991... Geez. Plans to do an engine swap later on ?
  9. I checked the strut top bolts and they were all tight... Should I loosen them and pull them down and check on things?
  10. Still having this issue... I had an alignment done and all seemed well after that, but Im pretty sure it slipped back in. Ive replaced both front wheel bearings recently <3K miles and also did tie-rods and tie-rod ends. Some new info I have. 178,412 miles on him now. If I have all 4 wheels on ground and shake the car from the front, I can get some light clunking but its been loud when backing out of parking spots or turning close to full lock... I just want to know what this is so when I do the brake job in a few weeks (Brembos! Im excited! ) I can try and fix this as well... Have a round trip down to Selinas CA and dont wanna have any catastrophic failure.
  11. According to my google search... (granted it was off of wikipedia) 86008 is the sequential production number The E before that would indicate "plant of manufacture & transmission type" The F before that indicates model year which for an F is 85 This is according to Wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt.. but its a start, also look on your door panels or under the hood VIN plate should have the model date which will help you a bit better. 12. No EJ swap was mentioned He's saying its cheaper to find EA's with D/R 5 speed transmissions already in them than it is to swap a D/R 5 speed into an automatic. Although seems its "pointless" to put an EJ in an EA since its cheaper to buy a Legacy with the EJ already in it... doesn't stop anyone, well maybe it does... anyway back to 5 speed swapping.
  13. Mudpit! Now whether or not Ned goes in it is the question.... Eh Ill figure that out later, depends on whats done to him by then.
  14. You sure its an EA81? My 84 DL was a EA71... until GD and I swapped it.
  15. From what Ive heard, yes. Once you reach 10 posts I can forward you the message from OBK25XT about the Honda Civic coilover sleeves, or you can ask him too... his member name is OBK25XT

  16. Coilover sleeves from a 1988-2000 Honda Civic fit the EA82s... I think you use EA82 4WD rear tophats or something.

  17. How to keep your Subaru alive has been pretty good. I have a chiltons and a haynes and its pretty cool... haynes is great with good pics.
  18. +1 its been doing really good since the repairs have been done from when it started... Makes my faith in Subarus grow constantly
  19. Constantly... especially because of the "cool" things I have done to it... Ive heard "if you polish s**t today, its still s**t tomorrow" a few times... I just dont give those people rides and I tell them that (at least now) my car is paid off and I get cheap insurance. Edit: I only have 178K on my 86 GL though.
  20. Talk to GeneralDisorder... hes in the Portland area. Im in Hillsboro, but I probably cant do much to help you... but you can chill n chat lol
  21. Is using XT6 parts up front or any 5 lug subaru up front more beneficial? I had an idea of doing 5X114.3 up front for the STI stuff, and 5X100 in the rear (obviously get matching wheels, but get the fronts in 5X114.3) but I also think it would be easier to just buy a XT6 parts car, get the seats, sway bars, 5 lug parts all in one ya know?
  22. Most legacy's IIRC correctly are 4.11 and that car shoulda come stock with a 3.9 so they probably wont fit. How much do you know about this car? Just curious, sounds like it was a project started by someone else, which could prove ugly in the future.
