  1. How did I not float valves when I shifted at over 7500? I heard that Subaru motors had valve floating at 10k? The weber does have torque advantages, whether low end or upper end, not sure, but i love it.
  2. Ive shifted there by accident once... guess I thought I was driving an auto or something cuz I looked down and was at 7500 in 2nd gear and shifted into 3rd and remained on the gas I had no idea they could chirp tires into 3rd haha Edit: back on track, Wilcox, what set-up are you running? year/model and mods?
  3. Im pretty sure mine starts at 6500... Ill check when I clean him out... But if I try to drive at 6K rpms (like hold it) I can feel the loss in power, but under hard acceleration, I feel it pull the whole way... could be the Weber that provides the extra boost... but soobies love to high rev...
  4. Yupp 1986 Subaru GL with weber carb on an EA82... even with a HG leak and I still get some pretty amazing pulls.
  5. +1 I shift my car at 6K when Im going somewhere "hard" because it when I shift into the next gear (usually 2nd or 3rd) I start at about 4K and it just keeps on pullin!
  6. Its both. The diff must match the gear ratio in the transmission or it wont work
  7. No problem, I dont think its very big without trimming/bashing but you can check
  8. I did the work for ya too... and I was right... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=84798
  9. For offroading or street? I ran 195/60/15 on my 86 GL sedan... no problems. Its been covered in the offroad section though
  10. This is Kinda how it goes at my house. When I pay my mom rent, it goes towards my food, when I need shoes she will buy them etc... but I dont have a job yet, and when I do, the plan is to move out by October, so I best be gettin on that job situation lol:Flame:
  11. True. I did have a sticking caliper... not that long ago, but I bled them and they felt decent, but I never noticed the vibrating til I was passenger.
  12. Driving is huge for me. I lost my license, and I havent been able to drive my car, just ride in it... and its really been driving me insane the things that seem to have gone wrong from being parked for awhile... but the brakes is a problem. I would do a helluva lot better financially if I wasnt paying rent to my mom haha
  13. Ya know, doesnt matter what other people think, as long as you like it. Personally though... thats kickass.
  14. Were there flat-spoke EA81/EA82 wagon wheels? Cuz I saw a 13" at the Junkyard but didnt see a J stamped on but they were dirty... they were flatter than the wagon wheels but still curved.
  15. Moving out is a huge priority... Getting my car running like when he was in your possession is another huge priority since having reliable transportation is part of getting a job.
  16. Whats out there? Ive been looking around and I like quite a few of the brake rotors and pad choices out there. Probably end up with ceramic brake pads, quieter and cleaner on the wheels. Still looking at rotors... I really like the idea of cross-drilled/slotted rotors, but I hear they are causing more harm than good. What do you guys use? Not looking for the ferrari of brake equipment as its still 4x140 at this point... eventually Ill be 5 lug
  17. I have pointed this site out to him, to my knowledge he doesnt look at it, because when I mention the solution to his problem is on here, guess who looks it up for him Yea plus... I dont want Ned being blown up though :/
  18. I can do it in my N/A and I have like 30HP less... Just get going and torque the steering wheel one side or another. Do it in an open space, Ive been dumb enough to do it on crowded streets and close calls are scary
  19. Looks promising, they do exist! Gotta check it out... I have been against aftermarket car alarms just because they are so sensitive that snowballs set them off, Neds exhaust sets them off, basketballs set them off... by them I mean one next door Edit: Heres one, what do you guys think? I think its kinda cool... not sure on the brand or anything... http://www.ebay.com/itm/no-reserve-RFID-MONITOR-CAR-ALARM-HANDS-FREE-LUXURY-/190548612712?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item2c5d951668&vxp=mtr
  20. BOOM Thatd be kickass... I shall check, but prepare your mancave
  21. I thought about changing my locks... but I wanted it to be a little more... secure I guess... replace them but also make them unique, but I see thats not exactly possible. I may just do the fuel pump cutoff switch... but at the same time, that only works as long as nobody sees me turn it on :/
  22. Ive considered this option, have it hidden under the dash or something... how hard is it? Thats my problem... and unfortunately the person has been seen with me so it wouldnt be weird if his Subaru showed up and he drove off with mine for awhile, its happened before when we were on speaking terms.
