EA82 6lug swap? Or re-drill 6lug rims to fit 4lug hubs?
92_rugby_subie replied to Prwa101's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
I dont have experience redrilling either... but it depends on your local tire shops.... Here in Hillsboro, an old acquaintance had an 86 GL with re-drilled 6 lug wheels. He got a flat, and we went to a few tire companies to get new tires (which it needed) and to repair the flat... none of them would touch them. "Because of liability, we cannot put wheels that were re-drilled back on this vehicle. The structure has been compromised by the re-drill." We said that the vehicle had 30K on the re-drill and did just fine and we were told that compromising our own safety was our deal, but they would not mount them because it would compromise someone elses safety and be their liability. What we had to do was put the car on jackstands, take the tires off the car, go get new tires put on and mount the rims ourself. Which wasnt that big of a deal, but it required a lot more work than originally planned. Not sure if this will be a problem for you or not, but do consider it. -

Its an anti-dieseling solenoid, not worth it, just have the car in gear and let the clutch up when you shut the car off (the slower you hit the release point, the less it lurches) It was mentioned on here for an EA82 I believe that it wouldnt shut off... lemme search

How easy is it to bust into an EA82?
92_rugby_subie replied to 92_rugby_subie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, by about 3-4 feet. And also forward more. -

Am I causing any damage by doing this? Short-circuit perhaps? I have thought of unplugging stuff... but I didnt wanna make it so I come back and need to use my car, plug stuff back and find out I made something bad happen. -

The car was at about 1/8 of a tank.. Now sat below E. Its time for a motor swap, itll be moved to a secret location and then... engine removed, there will be no ability to drive it. Spoke to my neighbor, he didnt hear anything, but says he was asleep most of the weekend. Im going to ask a few more neighbors. If it was a prank, I dont find it funny and someone will be by the time its over. I realize it may seem like it was my doing, but the car was where I left it Friday night and Saturday morning and Sunday morning it was moved and Monday when I came home, I noticed the movement. I was at Great Wolf lodge all weekend. I dont wanna keep this going off topic, just expressed my concern that the car was moved... Now that I hear its pretty easy to be broken into, I gotta figure something out... maybe one of those steering lock things... Im not thinking aftermarket alarm, those seem to be so touchy... -
At Great Wolf Lodge this weekend... Saw it Sunday night, coulda been there all weekend? Saw a white EA82 wagon. Either a Loyale, GL or GL-10 (or a DL with the GL headlight swap) Looked to be lifted or fenders cut for the bigger chrome wheels, bigger tires. Couldnt see it in GREAT detail because I was on the 6th floor and it was on the ground floor. but figured you might be on here?

I've got no clue. We had moved the car to the left of our driveway. On Friday when I was gone, it was noted that we could fit 3 cars in the driveway that way, and it was done for a get together. On Monday I noted Ned wasn't where I left him and brought it up to my Mom since she had a key, she said he was not moved by anyone with her key, but he had to have been moved because no longer could 3 cars fit. I realize he was returned... but I'm bothered by this... can't tell if new mud/grass but I figure on a few extra miles... hard driving miles by the 1/8 of a tank sitting below E now. -
So I come home from a four-day vacation this morning... To find that Ned was moved... I can account for the 3 keys that are with the car, sister has one, Mom has one and I have one... No other keys made. These 3 people were with me so I know the car wasnt moved by one of them... So is it far out to think that someone took him for a joyride? And if so... (although Im thankful for it) why return him to the driveway...? Whoever did it, didnt know/didnt do it right that the door handles have to be lifted up when locking, so the doors were unlocked. I KNOW for sure that the doors were locked when we left because I knew Id be gone 4 days and I dont want to leave my doors unlocked that long. So I guess my idea is someone unlocked my car, drove it and returned it... No Im not crazy, where he was parked and where he is NOW parked differs by about 3-4 feet.

how do you flush out brake lines?

Normal bleeding should be fine. I got horrid fluid when I did mine. With two people its easy. -
There was a video of a Brat body on a Chevy chassis somewhere on here...

I wanna say wheels... but I could be wrong haha. I was in a 'lifted' blue GL-10 with hacked up fenders or I was in a dark blue GL thats pristine

Oh and welcome to USMB, your new addiction!

I swear Ive seen your RX... I either did trading with the previous owner or with you at Big Lots in Beaverton Oregon...?

Honestly, for what youre asking, we may be able to help you... Mostly though the WRX and STI stuff gets forwarded to Nasioc, you get so many more replies from there, although some are just *facepalm* but oh well. You may want to go into your dealer to see what you can do for options, websites arent the best... My friend bought a 2011 STI and ordered it online with a ton of options, told 9 month waiting list... walked into a dealer to let his wife test drive one like it and walked out with the EXACT options he wanted that day with apologies on subaru.com being misleading. I think the WRX/STIs of some years look sexy with no wing... but thats just my .02

Weber carb for my 87 gl?
92_rugby_subie replied to Moosen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Next time youre in Portland, take Ned for a drive. 86 GL with a Weber carb... you will be awestruck at the power he makes, most everyone who drives my car is. The weber was put on and tuned by GD as its his old car. Then you can buy one here and take it to him and youll be set -
*Facepalm* Ad haha I could go look at that car, but it scares me now.
