Yea the positive one works like that, the negative doesnt appear that it would work like that unfortunately, Ill have to look into that. -

Ever notice how these little battery terminals suck? I had to replace my postive terminal, and soon will replace my negative one, just for safe measure... On my sisters 91 Legacy, the previous owner monkey-fisted the cable on and it just snapped when I tried to take it off causing me to touch the wrench to the terminal... sparks flew -

That means you have a bad electrical issue somewhere.... Ive seen it happen to older EA82s and my advice was to start replacing cables and battery terminals... on 2/3 fixing battery terminals worked... on the 3rd, nothing short of a new wiring harness was going to help (duct taped wires, cut wires, loose wires etc) so the car was scrapped... Which was sad, like a 1989 DL with 91k on it super clean -
I had an inside wear issue when I had my 15" pugs on.... I went to an alignment shop, paid $39.95 and came out with perfect alignment. I had one low tire that they aired up so all of them sat at 33psi. Worked great. Now Im back on 13s and I did tie-rods/wheel bearings and then went back, paid $39.95 again and I havent had a single bit of wear issues since. Figure out what is wrong... check tie-rods, wheel bearings, axles, etc and see why you have an issue, if everything looks good and tight like it should be, then take it to Les Schwab or another reputable shop and get the alignment fixed.

It does, I can actually keep this "sorta" up to date, as he has done some work to it... Got things freed up in the motor, new ignition system, fuel system, spark plugs, wires, fluids and everything, but was let down when it cranked but didnt fire up Hopefully I hear good news soon Happy Holidays! -
Merry Christmas all.

Small dent removal

I posted on craigslist and got someone that says he can pop it out for $30, and if that doesnt work, he will paint a straight junkyard fender to match mine for free. So the whole thing will cost me $30 + Junkyard fender But going to remove the fender and try to pop it from the back inside of my house and leave it inside for a few days so it doesnt pop back out. -

Okay. Problem. Tried the heat gun then compressed air trick... it worked Til I shut the door, then folded in again Gave it a few hours, tried again.... worked 3 hours later, it had folded back in. Is it too cold (35*F) to be doing this? Is it time to remove the fender? :-\ -

I will attempt the can of air as I have that.... and a heat gun should be around here somewhere. I want to pop this out because Ive driven about 6-7 trips to store, friends house, home etc and even if Im not thinking of it (or maybe I am) I always see it when I get in or out of the car and think it looks horrible -
Oh god. I must of been tired. I coulda sworn your location was Forest Grove... Oops... what a fail on my behalf.

From the front: From the hood down to the ground: Its really not that bad... honestly, but given Neds shape and stance in the family I dont like the dent. -

How do I go about the dry ice trick. Got a camera phone pic, will post it in a second... Insurance WILL cover it... But my deductible is $500 and the dent repair will be $349-469 depending on if the metal is creased on the inside of the fender (apparently wont know until they pull the fender, I didnt wanna mess with that) so I brought him back home, parked him and took the picture to get your guys opinion. -
This is a rant and a request... So today at Washington Square, some guys were chasing eachother, I guess a brawl or something, I didnt get many details. One caught up to the other and swung him around and threw him right into Neds fender head first... Drinking plus shopping dont mix? I got out and was like WTF just happened here, and someone called an ambulance as the guys head was bleeding and we all waited for the police to show up, blah blah blah. There was a lot of yelling at people Anyway... Theres a dent in my fender... not HUGE, but its noticeable for me because NED is in really good exterior shape I dont know if I should remove the fender and hammer the dent out... or if that will cause more harm then good... Not sure if I can plunger it out either... but I dont want to pay the body shop bill for a fender... I can take pics tomorrow, the police took my information and some pictures... I dont think I did anything wrong, so I think Im good, but when I asked if I should contact my insurance, the officer said "Shouldnt be necessary, and they will probably total your car, its a 79 you said right?" (ugh, no 1986, but whatever)

Talk to GD hes got a new sandblast cabinent and Im sure hed sand-blast them, and then you can spray them... if you are good/even with spray paint they can come out looking REALLY good... Id do it on the cheap end if youre dealing with 13" ones... unless rare, they just arent worth a ton of money... I would probably not even do a professional job on a set of peugeots unless they were gonna be permanent on my car... buuuuutttttt.... I want the 5 spoke LGT wheels off the newer ones those in black will look sick on my EA82

So my sister bought a 1990 FWD Legacy (base as base model can get) and we knew it had some issues, and are working to get those worked on, but I have a few questions, since I mainly know about my EA, kinda unfamiliar about EJ's So heres the problems known: - CTS (Coolant Temp Sensor) - Will not start when cold, must hold RPMs at 2-2500 for about a minute to make it not fall on its face and die. - Oil leaks - Oh boy... Oil leaks out the wazoo. - Needs new struts - Failed DEQ, looks like needs new o2 sensor (this may be one of my problems below) but ran denatured alcohol through and it passed. - Interior panels need work So my problem is: When going up hills, I have to push the gas in more, and I get a lot of stuttering/chugging every couple of seconds, but I dont seem to get this any other time. Wont be winning any drag races. (Bad o2 sensor?) TERRIBLE MPGs... The car was bought as a commuter for my sister, who doesnt need AWD, so it doesnt really matter that its FWD... We expected at least 30mpg highway... She commutes on the highway but is only seeing about 18mpg... total. (Bad o2 sensor?) Everything else seems to be running fine, doesnt overheat, no codes popping up, headlights are  terrible compared to Neds 6000k HIDs. We have plans of resealing the motor and dropping it back in, only has like 170k on it... its still a baby in the EJ22 world.

Fiat 500 Subaru Swap

EA81 is a great solid motor EJ22 is another great solid motor (has timing belts though) I love my EA82, but they do get a lot of bad press... EJ25 isnt that great of a motor, more power, but more problems. EJ22T is just asking for trouble (tickets) but is a good motor as well -
