  1. Dont suppose you have a mini wheel balancer?
  2. Im not busticating him Hes gonna be a purdy Scoob when Im done...
  3. Heres my video on playin with the weber, its sounds pretty sick... I try to keep it low to avoid exhaust Noise... There are videos of the exhaust on Youtube as well.
  4. It seemed like you wanted those wheels... exactly those haha. So I was suggesting the 5 lug swap, get the 5X100, and then get them. Its good if you know someone to re-drill the hubs as it should be precision drilled, or if you can do it yourself (precision) but if you cant, or dont know someone who can, I think the 5 lug swap would be a better move.
  5. Do rear discs in the process... might as well... Re-drilling the brake hubs just seems pointless
  6. Clean the PCV stuff for sure... I gotta say, I finally put the EA82 back in a 91 Loyale... Connected stuff up, put fluids in, and went in, cranked it... wouldnt start... Oh yea... hook up the distributor dummy "D'OH!"
  7. He did. To 4X114.3 or something. I had a set of those, those are Enkei 92s if I recall... Mine were green haha. You can get them EXACTLY like that in the 5X100 pattern...
  8. Yes, but you may need to change the jets so that it runs correctly for the EA82.
  9. Oops and sounds... Yes... I might upload another video of Ned soon... If I do... Ill get some primary-secondary sounds... But I also have a glasspack on mine
  10. +1 I love the Weber GD put on NED before I bought him... I can climb hills without dropping a gear. As for fuel mileage... with some numbers... I get about 19 in town when mashing the accelerator, 5K rpm shifts etc. I get 23-25 in town when shifting at 3-3.5K rpms. I went to the coast and with the math I got about 33-34 mpg there and back... And that was mixed with downshifting and mashing the accelerator to pass people that werent going 65 in a 55 or braking to 30 mph on a 45mph curve) Id go with the Weber 32/36. I have an electric choke but the manual choke is apparently a better fit (GD can comment on that one)
  11. Well I will attempt this... 1st - 1985 Subaru DL Sedan - FWD 5-speed, sold running and driving for $650 with 456K miles. No pic, didnt think of it at the time... But if I ever find some Ill edit this hahaha. Baby blue. 2nd - 1992 Subaru Loyale Wagon - 5 Speed P/B 4WD - 243K when sold. Baby blue. 3rd - 1984 Subaru GL Wagon - 4 Speed D/R - 225k miles... parted out. Yellow/Black 4th - 1984 Subaru DL Sedan - 5 Speed FWD - 170K on EA71, put in an EA81 with a weber, sold shortly after. White 5th/Current - Now... The icing on the cake, wont be my last one, but honestly my favorite is NED - 1986 Subaru GL Sedan, 5 Speed D/R - 175k, purchased from GD 10k ago and runs awesome. EA82 with Weber 32/36. Twilight blue metallic.
  12. I realize my last post has nothing to do with what you guys are saying... but Opus can you take a picture... I didnt believe our housings COULD get yellow, I thought that was only the plastic housings... my headlights on my 1986 are still clear as... clean glass
  13. In our factory housings... the HIDs are blinding other drivers... this is *I believe* explained in Turbones conversion.
  14. Well... I suppose you can be the first. Some of the early EA81s had round head lights... Or get a better charging system.
  15. I agree because I love the HIDs in my EA82.. But lets NOT open that can of worms again... turns into a bar fight in here
  16. +1 Turbone did a GREAT write-up on this. I plan to do it, itll take work, and if a lens gets broken... Well... crud. Guess Ill make spares. People put the DL head lamps in the GL/Loyale area too, thats a swap but its not a round headlight.
  17. Careful leaving your HIDs on. When you start the car with the HIDs on, they sometimes will only turn 1 light on. I have this on NED all the time and my buddies Impreza does it too. Both have 6000K HID bulbs in them. You can usually flick them on and off a few times after starting the car and itll work just fine. I plan to do Turbones conversion in mine though
  18. Since Im not from the NE, I didnt "personally" know him but we had conversed on Nasioc before a few times. I do know someone from my school that knew him personally and went to the memorial bike ride on a rented bike to show his support... I wouldnt do that, not in my price range, but a $5 decal and my best wishes for his family seemed suffice for our minimal relationship.
  19. I got a new garage kit Crawler, Jackstands, Jack, Magnetic bowl (so I know where my nuts are at all times ) wheel chocks, lug wrench and oil filter wrench But onto the Subaru subject (although the above will HELP me work on Subarus... Cleaned the window and applied my sticker (story on Nasioc "NESIC loses a member" Also went under the car, and checked out the under carriage just because I could and because I have the equipment to do so Birthdays rock oh wait thats next year. Also priced out: Gonna rebuild the old EA82 (146k) on Stubies Subie's Loyale and drop it in NED. Torque cams + SPFI EA82 under carb manifold with Weber should give me quite a get up and go feeling Should be possible under 3-400 AND Ill have 0 miles This should be awesome (few months out)
  20. I cant for the life of me find 14" Maxxis Bighorns.... I can only find them in 15" Wheres your source?
  21. Darn I cant post a comment on that. That is a very thorough job. Looks amazing. I should think about going that deep in the process when I repaint NED. Im doing the original #646# paint color (Twilight Blue Metallic) Glad that you're going to fix that! It seemed like one of your pride and joys!
  22. Gorgeous wheels! Shipping cant be that bad right? I keed. Good luck with sale!
  23. Sounds like itll be a lot of fun. I too have an 86 GL with D/R 4WD. I love that little car Congrats on keeping another one from the NE on the road!
  24. Hey Welcome to USMB. It will be your new addiction. Neat little Subaru you have Got some pictures of your adventures with it? Check out the New Generation forum for some more insight on your transmission problem... Might want to pull the whole transmission and replace what you can before you lose First/Reverse entirely. Best of luck!
