  1. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50400 This has the parts list in it and some of the instructions.
  2. Im not gonna thrash you or laugh. Im just saying a 5 lug swap is probably your best bet for putting those WRX wheels on your car. I will find a couple links and post them here for you... Utilize the search function for the 5 lug swap stuff... It will skip the term "5" though.
  3. Mines stock blue with grey seats if that counts I have a video up on youtube: 91rugbysubie
  4. The motor is receiving work. The brakes will receive work. If they dont do the job, the car will be a spare and another will be used for the purpose wanted. This has been noted several times. If the vehicle doesnt live up to the expectations it will be used as a learning experience and still used for other purposes. There I noted it again.
  5. I have driven the EJs. I have driven an EJ18, EJ22, EJ25 and ridden in the EJ25/EJ22 heads BRAT that Renob123 has. Although impressive and smooth rides, I personally like the EA82 more. But oh well... Not trying to start anything, but research was done, and decisions were made. A legacy will be purchased as a "beebop around town" car.
  6. Why? The power was not a concern. Given multiple thought sessions, he decided he would rather stick to his original plan and get an EA82. Im the same way, I drove a EA82 as my first and 2nd Subarus. My EA81 was a wreck, so was the EA71. The EA81 we dropped in was an amazing car after the swap but I still liked NED better. Which is what we've discovered. I will be building Ned basically from the ground up to make him my "perfect" Subaru. Stubie will be building his perfect one... He really likes the way this will turn out...
  7. NGK plugs and wires... Subarus love em. Plus the platinums can go like 50k? 60k? Youll have plenty of time, I will disassemble the motor, get the cams and heads sent in (actually GD will do that part). Youll have at least 1 week from now to do the engine bay.
  8. I HAVE a spot for the light... But it never lights up.
  9. Welcome Kenneth and Sabrina There are two forums that might help. One is the historic section (not calling her old) and one is the older generation section. Do you have pictures? More information on Sabrina and her suicide attempts? Might just be she needs a heart transplant and some metal surgery and she will go from being 31 and looking 50 to being 31 and lookin barely legal
  10. Probably used it as a template. +1 I want it in 2 inch for my EA82
  11. Yupp did the U turn and back to Ricks. Finally got the motor pulled out... Dear Subaru, that belt driven fan is the stupidest idea you have ever had... besides the EJ25D Going to do: Clean motor Clean engine bay Torque cams New XT6 clutch (this one was toast, so the motor was coming out) Reseal (including headgaskets)
  12. What I have done is drain the oil, fill it with ATF and then run the motor for like 15 mins and then drain it again, ditch the filter, new filter, new oil and you should be good
  13. Mine wont come on and its been run very low... while it was sitting for a few weeks... It was started and moved (bad tie-rods/tires/wheel bearings) and the gas needle was ALL the way below the E and still it didnt come on... so if I still had 2.4 gallons in it after the E mark, thats awesome, but I doubt it.
  14. my 1986 GL hasnt ever had the gas light come on. and its been run pretty low just by sheer "next paycheck" status.. I wouldnt let it run out of fuel... IIRC fuel is what lubricates the fuel pump... If you let it run out of fuel, that stops the lubrication and you may lose a fuel pump. Thats an expensive repair if you go OEM ($230) and you might have some pieces of fuel pump in the fuel lines that will mess stuff up... Just my .02
  15. Oh no no, I totally agree with you. I will boast all day about the reliability of Subaru... but I do say "its only as good as you treat it"
  16. Thats pretty much a universal wish. Theres a lot of parts for EA82s that arent around anymore Subarus are a lot of fun to work on. Easy as pie too Does that have the stock hitachi carb on it? Is there a Weber in its future?
  17. Im a guy Marshall is the name I was born with I had one of those as my 3rd scoob.. 83/84 GL Wagon.. wiring nightmare lol. Sounds like youve got some work to do And yes, silly girl... Ford is the unwanted child of this world haha. At least in my opinion lol... I like Chevy>Ford and Subaru>Everything lol
  18. Looks like it works to me That looks pretty cool definitely a project, but yes, thats the fun of them. Whats your plans? Lift/Lower? EJ swap? Paint? Fix rust? etc
  19. This should be stickied or something because that really IS the difference and its pretty much the same for the EJ motors as well. Case in point, found a 98 Forester with bad headgasket, GD brought a gutted OEM thermostat as a temporary fix. The difference between this OEM gutted and the "MOTORAD/MOTORRAD" thermostat was almost exactly like that, no wonder the OEM ones hold up and the others fail... Thanks for posting the pic. Doing a tear down and reseal on a 1991 Loyale this weekend
  20. Get a photo hosting site - like photobucket. (see ex) Upload and resize your pics to 640X480 or 800X600. After they save, grab the IMG code and copy it. Start a new message/reply to thread on the board and paste it into your open box. The link youre after looks like this:
  21. PS I do realize that Spencers car is a street only rig and mine is technically a street only rig with mild offroad...
  22. Maybe Ned is just special 15" pug alloys with 195/60/15s. As you can see, no lift. No cutting or rolling. Still plenty of clearance. I still managed to go out to a mud hole and 4X4 for awhile, no rubbing and no bottoming out, even though I did bounce around quite a bit. Miss my pugs but I will either get some more later on or just do a 5-lug swap. OBK25XT has a lowered-ish Loyale on 16s and I dont think he did any trimming: Sorry for all the pics, but hope this helps a little bit...
