+1 for $400.... Thats an incredible deal. What're your plans for it? -

When you start it... do you double tap the gas, turn it over, let it rev up to 2k and let it climb for a bit? I let mine rev to 2600-3000rpms before I tap the gas to drop it back down. Mines a Weber 32/36 DGEV carburated EA82... Do you still have the stock hitachi on yours? -

Welcome aboard. Youll find a lot of information here, as well as friendly advice, ideas etc. Do you have pics available of your brat? if you are unsure about how to post them here, I can show you directions on how to do it, but everyone here loves brat. Again, welcome, I am Marshall aka 92_Rugby_Subie from the Portland Oregon area. Now that introduction is over... Ill let someone give you some advice on your brat. What kind of aftermarket light are you looking for? I dont believe theres anything aftermarket persay, but there is junkyards, members etc that have the stock taillights. -
Youre on the west coast... people drool over our rust free cars... if I were you, I would pass on it, find something with minimal rust, fix that up and make people jealous

a 2004 or 2005 forester xt would be great.. 4.444 gearing... They are fast. Start your platform on that... Then as Twitch was saying upgrade whatever you can and keep it stock looking, dont do anything stupid on the streets obviously, but on the track... whoop em. I plan to so much to my scoob, including an AWD swap (into basically a Loyale sedan) and then go with the 4.444 gearing and a frankenmotor swap, etc... and I think Ill keep it stock color... but it will have sti wheels, so that might give it away. -

unfortunately, as much as I like Crystal and Twitch, my current situation would not allow the trek, and if I did, it would very muchly not be worth it... -

Haha I wish I was closer, Id go crawl around but thats quite the trek. -
Thanks I will grab some ultra gray RTV today then I have no clue where he is going. They might be servicing it, the cost of redline could have been in there as well, he might be having other stuff done, he just told me it was way cheaper to buy a differential that didnt need sealing then to pull his out and reseal it.
-
Are you sure its going out? The wiring on the module could be messed up, but I have noticed this, and I cannot stress enough (after recent events) how dumb HIDs are. Love the light, hate the way they work. Does he have a cheap-o kit - HIDs on regular, Yellow on brights? My HIDs, my friends 97 Impreza and my buddies 95 Impreza ALL have this issue, where if the headlights are in the on position when the car is started, one goes out, and the lights must be flicked on and off a few times and the bulb will work again... I know these cars are 10-15 years older than his car, but its worth a shot...

I have someone that wants this differential (finally) I told him it needed a new gasket because the cover had been removed and it was shot, and he said that his current differential had a leak and his mechanic said it was about 390 to remove the rear differential, replace seals and put back on, but it would be about 200 to remove the rear differential and put a new one on, so he was hoping this one was already sealed. I told him Id use some RTV and seal it up for him before he bought it... so I cleaned it up: My question.. How should I RTV it? Should I do the red path? Red and Blue path? You can save the picture above and paint on it (obviously not easy to just draw it lol)

Driving the Loyale? -
Nope. That is 5 lug. You must find a 6 lug like mentioned above to drill the wheels out, and you have to do it just right or a tire place wont touch them. If youre looking to offroad, find a set of peugeot steelies, they appear on here from time to time, and most of the people on this board sell them with the lugnuts included. If you just want something bigger without going offroad, the turbine style alloys are 14s I believe, again, they appear on here from time to time.

They either bought it like that and arent on the forum or they are on A FORUM because that looks like redrilled wheels and a monster lift kit... they have to know something about scoobs to have done that... I dont even know enough about scoobs to do that... id buy the kit from SJR and send boatloads of cash to GD to redrill my wheels and put my lift kit on... otherwise mine would fall apart. I must know who this is now. -

Whoa. Have not seen that one before... That thing is nice though -
Ahh gotcha I wanna go to AK and have some fun in the snow and mud and trails... My scoob has been offroad in its stock form, even with low profile tires and alloy pugs (may not have been a smart decision, but fun... hmm very! Photo = lots of mud - ride home in the rain + next days sun. Thats why it looks like just dust, but no, I was in the mud and even took it into a place that I wasnt sure I wanted to go, but thank god for D/R 4X4 lol. Definitely wanna see wheeling pics of your scoob when it happens, even the after photos (like mine) you can just tell that I had fun, and when you post pics, Ill know you had fun!

If you wanna send the pics to me at - Rugby_boy101(at)yahoo(dot)com Ill post them up, but you CAN do it yourself... Get a photobucket account. Upload them there To the right of the picture you should see this: Copy the IMG code (circled in red) and then paste it into a reply box, message, comment, etc and shabam, theres your pics. Try to resize your pics to 640X480 (scroll over the pic til you see the resize box) that way your pics dont take up 3 pages for 1 photo haha. let me know if you need any more assistance with them. Also. Your link, when pasted into the message should look like this -
