  1. Well I know how to I was hoping he did so I could see it lol. Ugh except my phone service has become very lame... swapped from an LG rumor touch to a LG Optimus and had to activate it, and it deactivates the other one, right now, its in the middle of those two services... deactivated the other phone just fine, activating the new one... well thats another story...
  2. Hey Earl Knew youd pick this up. Saw it on Craigslist and was like... hmm, bet Pooparu would like it, so I emailed the guy and asked him to send me pics that were right side up and he said someone was looking at it today. So I gave up, but I see you got it. Congrats. Cant wait to see the build thread and progress photos!
  3. to the OP.. Can you send the picture to peoples phones? or to your own email? Im intrigued to see what this brat looks like...
  4. Get some "pugs" aka Peugeot wheels. The recessed spoke alloys look incredible on these cars. Since you said you had the suspension maxed out, Im assuming this either has a bumpy road to tackle, or youre going to find it some? If thats the case, many people do the re-drilled wheels as the spoke alloys, are well, alloys and youll damage them and for a 150-300 set of rims... thats no good. You can find a set on here occasionally or someone in your area might be able to do it (if you have a Subaru master in the area). One thing to look out for... My friend had an 86 GL-10 sedan with re-drilled Chevy 6 lugs... 4 tire places we tried wouldnt touch the wheels. Said they could take them off, but not put them back on as "re-drilling wheels is a safety hazard" and blah blah blah. Ended up taking his car back to my house, removing all 4 tires (and slapping 13s onto a car with maxed suspension and cut fenders which looked hilarious ) and taking the wheels back in for new tires.
  5. Loyales are great cars. Having owned one myself (the 92 in my name is from my 92 loyale) I can say that they will keep you going and going and going. I saw your other posting first about the wheels... and decided to post my .02 worth there instead of here... Welcome aboard! Love the pics and hope to see many pictures (we are all Subaru picture lovers) and if you plan to wheel it, or build something more than a DD out of it, we will all be willing to help and VERY willing to see the progress!!
  6. That Forester looks amazing. The more and more I see the FXT and the lowered/slammed Foresters, the more I want them :/ I think once Ned is done with his FM, EJ AWD swap and "sleeper" look, Ill get a 04/05 or 2011 WRX and an older Forester...
  7. +1 How could you update this WITHOUT pictures... Thats just unthinkable.
  8. Sweet Gonna name your lil wagon? I got lucky, my sedan, "Ned" comes from his license plate haha...
  9. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=122806 he might be close enough to you to pick this up... Im sure since hes a Subaru guy, that he could tell you about the swap and stuff, 550 for a low mileage engine and a harness thats already pulled is not bad at all.
  10. I think youll need the engine and the wiring harness at the very least... See how many miles are on the engine, maintenance records would be best (so you know the history of the engine your putting in your car) hear it run See if he might take $300 for the car... Then take what you need, part out the rest and you might make a buck or two
  11. You need a Weber Lol Welcome aboard. Youll find lots of great information here!
  12. I dont know if mine ever leaked on the ground, it was the hose under the manifold that had a pinhole leak in it so the coolant pooled onto the engine and then just cooked off. Still funny By the way, that fender looks pretty clean!
  13. Mine did that too just keep it topped up if you HAVE to drive it. I loved freaking people out at stop lights from Hillsboro to West Linn they were like "Omg your car is smoking, your engine is on fire!" and I just shook my head and pulled away, disappearing in a cloud of smoke... I mean steam haha
  14. les schwab should have them, I have gotten mine there. You can do 175s or 185s or even 195s, you might see a very slight difference in your speedo cable.
  15. Thank you MilesFox and GrossGary. We do not have the rust though, and I belive Im replacing both the inner and outer tie-rods... I can post a picture of the part tomorrow for clarification of it, and hopefully thatll clear up so I dont sound too ruhtarded for asking questions about the directions lol.
  16. How do I do the tie-rod on the drivers side? The mechanic my buddy took the car to said that it had a loose tie-rod. I dont think you can just tighten those... so how do I replace it? What tools will be needed, etc... Thanks!
  17. Neither fram filter will work Youll find so much negative feedback on the use of Fram oil filters... Heres some that just happened the other day: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/group.php?groupid=3 Id go with the Napa like stated above, or I like using the Mobil, Bosch or even (if you can spare the change for it) OEM. I remember GD picked up a Legacy that had been put into a ditch and then hotwired. Guy started it up and it ran really well, but something wasnt right. Then noticed it was hotwired on only 2 cylinders. Ran great like that. Took it back to his house, pulled the engine (a EJ22) to put in a blown engine LGT, and there was a Subaru oil filter on it. That engine ran like it was brand new. Anyway, back on topic... Dont use Fram, I know that A LOT of auto parts stores use Fram in their great deals or whatever, but what I usually do is the 5 QT oil change jug *usually just the Chevron Supreme 10W-30* with a Bosch or Mobil filter.
  18. Fine fine Crystal... I didnt wanna play anyway.
  19. Washed, waxed and hung out with Ned today. Got his license plate straightened out a bit, and made sure he was super clean. Before: Waiting on the wax to dry: After: I went ahead and rinsed it off after a little bit because after I took the wax off, I had to mow the lawn, and I figured it would have dust on it lol.
  20. Oh boy I fail haha. I guess you guys found out who it was Mr. Brat lol. I saw a video on youtube of his ride in the mudpit and saved it to my WCSS album and named it MR. BRAT But you guys found him haha
  21. Give me a sec, I know who that is... I believe.... I saw it at WCSS.
  22. http://s1014.photobucket.com/albums/af262/Rugby_boy101/?action=view&current=DSCN1227.mp4 Video of the exhaust sound, I couldnt go THAT loud in my driveway
  23. My buddy isnt on this forum yet, not sure if he will be since he goes through me for parts and service... But I took some pics and here are some specs. 1997 Impreza L Sedan 5 Speed EJ22T shortblock w/ non-turbo heads (for now) 60k miles AWD Legacy GT wheels Borla exhaust Hella fog lights w/ 4100k HID bulbs Regular fogs have 4300k HID bulbs Headlights are 6000k HID bulbs RS hood Rear disc conversion Im sure theres some other things lol, but this is just what I remember... Now for the pics: I know the plans are at least to get EJ25D heads and drill the oil return hole or w/e and Turbo it. Different front bumper (this ones kinda screwed up) Tomorrow GD and I will be doing Driver tie-rod and Passenger wheel bearing. On a side note, apparently my scoob is not a real scoob (1986 GL Sedan) because when I throw the dueces up to Imps/Loyales/Brats/Legacy/WRX/STI etc I never get them back. Driving the Impreza around Im constantly having to quickly throw up the dueces as people pass me because theyre doing it to me... Poor Ned. Name of this one: Lu.
