  1. Umm.. I thought ebrake was rear wheels on the 86 GL... You do have a hill holder, which when the clutch is in all the way, and you push the brake all the way down, it engages... Have you tried lifting the ebrake and then slamming it back down... This worked on my Loyale... This should be posted in the Older Generation forum, more people with more knowledge will notice it.
  2. Well I told him it was an option, but he had a grand max to spend, and I dont have any money to loan him lol. So now I guess we keep feeding his EA82T headgaskets and whatever else that stupid motor eats.
  3. Nah Ned will get the gold 15 inch pugs and low profile tires, the spoiler, Neds gonna be my little STI wanna be
  4. Yea Im going to do some research... If we need to pull the engine (this might have bad headgaskets I guess) then Imma see if we can just put a regular ol EA82 in it
  5. He said hed had problems with it overheating... But it was just a clogged radiator and it had brand new coolant

  6. My friend just picked up an 86 GL10 with the EA82T...

Its coolant bubbled over the overfill... looked like soap? what could that be a sign of?

  7. Well, my friend Jordan wanted an Audi... I talked him outta it, and today, brought home his new 1986 Subaru GL-10 Sedan. 4WD *pushbutton* EA82T. Has redrilled 6 lugs and wagon struts so it sits higher, trimmed fenders. No weird noises, no knocks. Its straightpiped so the exhaust has to be clamped. **This is his Subaru (left) and him, and Ned and Me on the Right.
  8. You could take it to Les Schwab and have them check it, theyd put it on the lifts and then put it in 4WD and then accelerate it... At home, you could do the same just put it on Jackstands but youd need 4 of them to make it safe. Or if you still have snow on the ground, find somewhere super wet or icy and have someone watch your tires... if your front ones are spinning faster than the rears youre not in 4WD.
  9. Mine are 15 inch pugs though, so I have to go with a 15 inch tire.
  10. I will consider that.... Sounds like itd be pretty cool...
  11. Your wagon is my model I love the corner lights Hopefully by next WCSS Ill have my car painted Subaru Blue with these pugs gold (they will be gold by a few weeks from now)
  12. Lol that is a hot wagon Yours obviously is stock height, do you have any rubbing issues? Right now Ive got 185/70/13 on there... To go up to 205/50/15 seems like itd cause issues? Also: How expensive are tires for these? Whats good for traction? I want these to last...
  13. Do you have a picture? The GL is a 1986 Sedan. Painted Dark Blue (stock) I want to clean these pugs up, (they arent bad, just were painted black) and then paint them gold... Eventually I might paint the GL in Subaru blue like an STI But what will the pugs look like on those?
  14. I have a set of Pugs that I bought today... They are 15s. I need tires (that will fit a GL with no lift) I want low pro, or Legacy tires... Will these fit? Also... They are not all 4 the same wheels, same design, but two were made in a different place than the other two. Will this make a difference in 4WD?
  15. You are on vacation lol. But thank you, I will pick up a roll and see what it will take, or we can do it when you get back
  16. So I noticed that the trunk leaks on a 1986 GL Sedan, through the tail lights. Whats the best plan of action for this? I talked to the guy at Autozone, but he said just black silicone will work.... Having just replaced the tail lights on a 1993 Nissan 240sx, I had used weather stripping and black silicone, and it was cleaner, and didnt leak... Anybody fixed this problem before? -Procedure information (including how to clean the lights, as from experience on a Loyale, that stuff is sticky and near impossible to get off) -Time spent is important (got to know how long this is going to take) Thank you ahead of time!
  17. Free seats - http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=118549 for the SS, near me, I can pick them up if you want em.

  18. Abuse most likely... I didnt notice it when I bought it, but when we did maintenance, first start up had a pretty audible knock and then even after it warmed up we still hurt it. Didnt explode yet, but we want to tear into the engine and find out what made it knock
  19. To answer that, I replaced it with an EA81. We had one laying around that just needed cleaned up, had about 170k miles (my EA71 had 155k) so it was pretty close. She rides smoother now, whole new car... Even shifts better (4WD clutch in 2WD car)
  20. Got the engine in LuLu a few days ago. Started it up and it runs great, just need to do the PCV routing to the other valve cover and the air cleaner. Few other things that have to be done: Clean engine bay (its gross) PCV Routing Bad flasher (signals stay on when they should flash)
  21. SHE RUNS! LuLu, my 1984 Subaru DL Sedan ran today. Purred like a kitten... Well, the exhaust was off so more like she roared like a lion But Im very happy. She went 155k on her EA71 engine before the rod knock made GD and I think of swapping out the engine. When we pulled her original engine, we found it was an EA71, not the EA81 that we thought, so now its replaced and here soon she will drive back home to Hillsboro...
  22. ^ Thats what I meant lol. I know that the Loyale in 1994 had the last EA82, and the Legacy had the EJ22. Off to go put engine back in the beast
  23. Really? I thought 85 and up was EA82s? I suppose the brat and STD hatch were EA81s still.
