  1. Removed the engine out of my 1984 Subaru DL. Thought it was an EA81, but was surprised when it was an EA71 engine
  2. Glad everyone had fun. I was in Portland doing schoolwork and then yanking the engine out of what I thought was an EA81...
  3. One thing that I have learned from Rick... Buy the parts like hoses and seals and gaskets from Subaru. The hoses from Subaru are pre-bent and therefore dont kink when they are installed.
  4. What Mechanical fan on the water pump? Was there one of those on Ned?
  5. Alright, I just took the radiator out and put it back in a 1986 GL Sedan which is an EA82 like your loyale, and my name (92_Rugby_Subie) came from my 1992 Loyale Wagon, so Im pretty sure its the same setup
  6. You have to remove the fans if I remember right. Unbolt them, and disconnect them electronically. Then you disconnect the hoses and lift it straight up and out... If I remember right, an EA82 radiator only has two bolts on top for mounting the radiator but each fan has 4 bolts, two upper, two lower. Hope this helps
  7. Sigh. I would have math class on a Saturday... At least by next year Ill have a 4WD D/R... Maybe even a lift or something. Such a bummer Have fun guys, I cant wait to see pics and videos!
  8. Very nice, I dont mind the one on the GL but I mean, if I find a nice steering wheel, I might take it?
  9. Thats awesome! Idk if Id change my steering wheel lol.
  10. That engine is also Jacobs old EA81 engine from his brat that he mud raced... Its CLEAN now
  11. Thanks, they look pretty hot... Manifold, oil pan, valve covers, the oil tube thing are all bright orange, its pretty nice
  12. LuLu has a rod knock... Needs a new engine before I sell her to my sister... So since the new engine is out of the car, why not have a little fun? -Needs valve cover gaskets - Subaru gave us EA71 not EA81 stuff -Needs Weber Adaptor (on order for after thangsgiving) -Needs to be installed
  13. I agree with GD here for sure ^ Hes got a vehicle that I replaced the lifters and oil pump on... I was so nervous that it wasnt gonna work, but he started the engine, and from what I know, its doing great... and now when I buy the car, I know it all works well, I know what was done, and when and it makes me feel more confidence in driving it. Especially with snow coming around! or being here as the case maybe.
  14. Welcome aboard! Sorry to hear about the misfortune I am intrigued at this Swedish Trike, do explain You wont contribute to the downfall of intelligence unless you put a 4 inch fart can on your 2wd subaru with a spoiler of cardboard wrapped in saran wrap to keep it dry and such... lift it with plywood or something Best of luck!
  15. Yup Yup. Dealers will definately stick you where you dont want to be... In the butt... At least thats wear I keep my wallet  Best of luck, hope they look at it, quote you, and you run lol, bring the issues to the New Gen forum with a location, Im sure someone on the board can help you on it for 1/3 of the cost
  16. I should add too, Im very friendly, but my passion for Subarus is a bit much, I pretty much convince everyone who knows me to buy and keep a subaru... Parents are looking for one and girlfriends gonna trade an 06 pontiac in for a newer Subaru.. But welcome aboard! GL Marshall
  17. Nice find! Ditch the infiniti... Just an overpriced Nissan anyway!
  18. The red one/maroon one in the area. I havent see one with green pugs, is it usually at?

For sure we will cross paths :)

  19. Hey! Yup, I live over by 215th and Baseline, so Im pretty local, great to have met you and hope to catch ya in the future.

Have you seen that lifted Loyale wagon that goes to Westview? I cant believe hes not on this board.

  20. Welcome aboard! I had a 1992 Loyale, 5 speed pushbutton 4WD... Great car, loved it. Wish I could find who bought it, I wanna see how its been doing... Pics? Build thread? Good luck!
  21. Thanks Rick! I will tell him... I personally at first thought, wow 103k miles for 3100! Awesome, snatch it up... But it has a kink in the front bumper, and will need timing belts done, plus 100k service... its a mystery car... NO SERVICE records... I mean I love driving it... I took it around my neighborhood and it drives amazingly... But like LuLu, Im worried bout someone I care about being behind the wheel when the rod blows and leaving them stranded.
  22. Hell, Ill join. Until I buy GDs Subaru/put the engine in my 1984 Subaru I wont be meeting in a Subaru though.. Got a nasty rod knock, and have a replacement engine for it, but after that, I start getting payments from my Sister and I buy another one...
