  1. So, I could be COMPLETELY wrong on this, so bear with me. My Subie was cranking and not turning over... Heres what I saw "in words" Key in On Position (just before cranking) No dash lights (usually red lights everywhere etc) Crank but no spark Towed back to Ricks house... Couldnt find any issue, except that the 15 fuse for the Coil was blown... Replaced it. Red lights came on when in On Position Car turned right over... This could just be an EA81 thing, but it would be pretty easy to fix the blown fuse issue
  2. Welcome aboard Darsdoug. 35 subies. Wow. Awesome. I like him already I had a 1992 Loyale... I loved it, but I must say, I really love LuLu. Shes great, and I love to ride in her and all my friends love to ride her too... LuLu is my 1984 Subaru DL Best of luck on the Loyale
  3. Hey thats my 84 DL lol. Gotta love that engine knock... But once I have the money, or if Jacob wants to accept it later we can put the other engine in, and with care it should have another 100k or so
  4. TOMORROW.. ITLL LOOK LIKE THIS My editing job on paint Im awesome
  5. Wheel cover #1 almost done... Needs paint pen to even out the black/white and for the Subaru Logo Wheel cover #2 Primered/Painted Wheel cover #3/#4 have been sanded.
  6. Do you have pics of it? Is it just a sidecar? Use when you need it or do you plan on restoring it and using it as a DD? My 84 DL is getting parts to make it run decently and then (although its a DD now) I plan to drive it looking *somewhat* like it did in 1984.
  7. Mine, although way older had the same kinda thing on the right side... Clicking, screeching and that droning noise... So far we've: Tightened castle nut Checked wheel bearings (good) Replaced axle boot Replaced Ball joint New tires I have no more noise
  8. No, I know they are, but I dont have the money for Pugs and I dont like running just steelies.
  9. Great project, Im excited to see its continued progress and will subscribe to it. Looking good!
  10. Yea Im pretty excited that hes helping me. I definitely wouldnt have made it this far... I will have GD check it Gloyale. He wants to check my Coil because theres too many things connected to them, and I have no clue what they operate.
  11. Here are some pics from when I first brought the Subie home Soon she will have a badge of ownership http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=116184
  12. For sure, should be in the next few days... I have one side painted (2 covers) with the first coat of white, next day or so will get the black on the insides and then the SUBARU logo in blue.
  13. Plus Im not much of a chrome/shiny person... I mean, a glossy color isnt bad.. I LOVE the Jackman style wheels that are chrome though *whistles* those are fine shoes for a Subaru
  14. The car is white, so I figured theyd look good this way. Rick gave me the idea to make them look nice and then make them white... I was going to just spray them black and call it good... but Ive put some time into them now... I dont expect my Subaru to look new again, but I definately love how good it looks for a 26 year old car
  15. Tonights project (since I have nothing better to do) Wheel covers. 2 have been sanded down, cleaned and primered (see pics) theres a before with no sanding, and a picture of one primered. The spokes will be white, and the inserts between them black. The outter edge will be black as well... The SUBARU logo will either be a vibrant red or Subaru blue here soon...
  16. So since most of the stuff Ive been doing on my Subaru has been with Rick (GD) I havent really posted on here... But heres an update so far: Needs: Carb work (GD has this covered) Electrical Gremlin (GD has this covered too) *Im eating fuses for my coil* Alignment (November) Tags (November) Tune-Up Done so far: New Alternator Axle Boot (EJ22 Swapped) Tires/Wheels from 155s to 185s Clutch cable rerouted correctly Ball Joint replaced Shes running great and smooth, still doesnt like to stay alive on start-up when its cold, but that should be solved by a new Carb.
  17. Craigslist (if its in your area) I had a Weber 36/32 DGEV on my 84 GL wagon that I sold to Pooparu for $125 cuz it needed to be rebuilt. I think he just got $175 for it... So look on forums (here and others) and look for a Weber 36/32 with a Subaru adapter plate. Not to be a pain, but I dont think youll find one in a junkyard...
  18. Check your alternator/battery? Just a guess, but couldnt it be going slower when your headlights and stuff are on because of the drag on the battery? and then when you rev the engine, it blinks faster? I suppose could even be faulty switch somewhere as well. Thats just my guess, Im sure a Subie master will reply soon
  19. Yes Micah It is Mountain Tech... They are pretty spendy though... and Im partial to Ben (old mechanic) that worked there. Always called me Michael or Mitchell instead of Marshall lol, but he knew my first Subaru, and was a HUGE part in it breaking 450k miles. Now he works in Portland somewhere, but then again, GD is helping me keep my Subaru inline and its better to learn things now and do them (with help) then to watch someone speedily do it through a window and then pay the bill and drive away.
  20. ^ Agreed. Welcome aboard. What are your plans for the GL10?
  21. That's amazing congrats on the luck and good luck on it continuing
  22. maybe have a fuel leak? or a clogged carb? replace air filter, spark plugs and oil, and see if you get any better, if not, you should get a weber or a rebuild.
