  1. Oh and oil change Spark plugs and wires Tires Ugh, I need a job Anyone need a shop boy? Ill work for 8.50 an hour
  2. Me too I gotta proritize here I need wheel bearing on the right front Left axle is ticking when I turn left Alternator and battery are toast Air Filter Tags (Sept '10) Title switch Window on drivers side doesnt work I wish $500 would fall into my lap
  3. But if thats a JY, how long will these parts last? Would it be an advantage to just replace the wheel bearings and get it done so they last?
  4. How might that be done? Do I look for the whole spindle? I bet Im more broke (funny Im betting at a time like this haha) but where, and how much would that cost me?
  5. I see that my basic tools wont get the job done... Anyone in Oregon know of a shop that will do this fairly cheap?
  6. Exact copy of my faces... :-\ DAMN. Thank you. Guess I will go buy a whole set and forget the one Ive got
  7. My front right wheel bearing needs to be replaced... I was thinking Id have to wait because I didnt have the funds... But I was in my garage, and I pulled out a "SKF" box that was labeled "bearing" so Im hoping that this part will fit mine, it came outta my 1984 GL Wagon 4WD, but now I have a 1984 DL Sedan FWD. The SKF box says its part 6207 Autozone says I need part 207 Question is, is this the bearing I need? If so, how do I replace it?
  8. I would love the help So what parts should I get? Jacob (renob123) came out and said that the handle should be grabbing a gear, so that the window goes up and down, and its not grabbing that.. Without a lot of free time, its hard to say come look at it, Ill get the parts and then have you come back, I have loads of free time, but thats cuz I have no job and only 3 days of school a week. He told me to remove the other door panel and look at it, so Ill do that here soon and see what I can see
  9. I shoulda done that Cuz now my arm still smells like gas several handwashes and 3 showers later Oh well, it has been done, but I will look and make sure that it goes to the engine. I took the hoses off one at a time. Took one hose off, noted which side it came off of, and put it on that, the arrow hose went where it belonged, where the other didnt. lol
  10. If you like the designs of those, those are EA engines and from what Ive been told, are running about 74 horsepower... Now my EA81 in my 1984 DL Sedan moves, Ive gone 0-40 faster than my girlfriends 06 Pontiac Vibe. Hasnt been up to 60 yet as I have expired tags and like to keep it in the neighborhood For speed on the highway, youll want the EJ22... From Rick (GeneralDisorder) Ive heard that the 1990-1994 Legacy is an INCREDIBLE car, very reliable, and stock, very quick. Never had one, but want one badly... The swaps can be kinda messy (again, from other peoples knowledge, not my own) but if you find one already done, you might have what youre looking for... But for just stock, want to go from point a-point b reliably and quickly, go with an EJ22
  11. Whew. Thank you Rick I followed the arrows, I undid one hose, and put my thumb on it, looked at the filter, it didnt have an arrow, so I put that hose on the new filter with no arrow, and then did the other one, glad I did it right... Score one for me:banana:
  12. So are they using it to show that Subarus last? Thats pretty awesome
  13. So I need to reverse the lines? Or just find a way to flip it back over? I had gas dribbling down my arms so I was trying to get it in without twisting the lines, and thats how it popped in..
  14. Oops, I should say that this is a 1984 DL Sedan.. Hopefully it doesnt affect it, Thank you Grossgary for your quick reply. I will leave it alone unless someone else raises an alert to me Repair #3 on DL - COMPLETE Now for air filter and alternator soon
  15. So I replaced the rear fuel filter today... The new one and the one that came off were different, but still fit... The previous one came off right side up (hose lines on top) but because of the spacing of the new fuel filter, it would only fit upside down... am I risking anything like this? Pics below... This is the nasty fuel filter I took off. Heres the replacement one, hooked up to the proper lines, and in place (upside down) QUESTION AGAIN: Since the fuel filter only fit upside down, am I harming anything by having it this way, or should I try and fit it right side up?
  16. Possibly Ricearu... Gotta play with the bumper a little bit to be sure.
  17. I will look around. My front tires are ready to blow, so those are going to be the first things I replace for tires, can run my spare if needed, but hope to put two used on the front, and replace the axle boot and the wheel bearing. Project now: rear fuel filter
  18. ^ Thats not too bad, and youre doing it yourself which is even better... Hell, I took my 84 DL into the shop to have my window looked at and they estimate $675-$800 to get my window going up and down... Yea wind flow isnt that important to me, I have other priorities.
  19. Whew, glad I never had to replace the clutch on my 92 subaru loyale, I woulda hated having to pull the engine... Suppose Ill have to anyway, but I wont have timing belts to replace whoohoo EA81s. Now, since the engine is pulled, wouldnt it be helpful to do the headgaskets? or at least check them? I see ALOT of Loyales on Craigslist at 180k miles, or 220k miles that need HGs and they are all so cheap because of it, so would it be good to change it?
  20. Hey Rick. What size speakers did you use up front? Are they like 4 inch speakers? Is that the same for the one on the left and the one thats behind the vents on the passenger side?

Also, in the Sedan, would I have any rear speakers? It doesnt sound like it... But thats just me..

  21. I understand his mentality, and it could be my same disease... But So far since my 1992 Subaru from my dad, Ive owned and driven a 1998 Mitsubishi, 1984 GL wagon and (driven) another 1992 Loyale and now owning a 1984 DL Sedan. None of these cars feel like "mine" had. But it was mostly because my Dad gave it to me when he moved to Arizona and I had wrenched on it for 8 years with him... So I understand it, perhaps if my Dad came up and wrenched on my 84 with me, it would feel more like mine? Thats my .02.
  22. Did you send the check yet? As of today's mail, I havent received it yet.
