  1. Looks good My dad had a 2 inch pipe outta my Loyale put on, sounded pretty good and was very clean looking.. might do that. Third eye questions... It looks as though the grill lifts up in a cut out section? I dont think mine has the cut out, would a shop do that? Would it be controlled by a switch? Im considering this (for future as I need to fix a few things first)
  2. What about an EA81? Would it even matter for different engines to have different oil? What about using Synthetics? *Not trying to take your thread, just curious myself, and maybe others using the search function will see this thread and have both questions answered*
  3. AWW FML. I do see a flaw... Front right bumper is a little munched and that little corner of the hood.. These pictures are 4000X3000 on my computer, I just downsized them, so I can see it, and its a bummer
  4. I was wondering that.. If a Weber and Custom exhaust would give me a little more acceleration? and if done professionally could it still flow and not be a reason for GD to "shake his head in disgust" EDIT: Flow as in looks lol
  5. AND Although I have a pretty good sense under the hood as far as replacing things, I am not so familiar with tear-downs and such... So this will be my "maintenance practice and get to school" - mobile I saw a posting on headlight rules... Is this "Third Eye" gonna be an issue with local law enforcement?
  6. But Rick has a good point... I had to get rid of my 84 GL because it had electrical issues, caught fire and I couldnt save it.. Now I need one I can drive, safely from point A-point B and everywhere else. This is the one, and since I baby my cars, this will probably have a good life. My dad's 1985 DL had 456k on it, VERY hard miles, hard shifts and 456k was in town driving as a courier, turning engine on, driving 3 blocks, engine off, etc.
  7. Third eye doesn't look too shabby:) What's it do lol? Extra visibility?
  8. Oh, the radio, if replaced with something for CD or iPod hookup will be done professionally, so that it flows with the console... The emblem on steering wheel, Ill look for DL was what my dad had, so I am fine with it The third eye, I will think about, I will look around on here and see if there are some pictures so I know what Im looking at. The Tach, Im okay with, it looks cool and from the pictures, it looks like it was done right, no BS there. I will baby this for maintenance... Probably full synthetic oil after I do a complete flush of all fluids. (will have a separate posting about how to replace/empty and clean gas tank.)
  9. Okay 4WD out for now. I plan to enjoy it, mostly because its hard to find one in such good of shape... I was quite bummed when he wasnt replying, 9 days later, he sends me a message saying that Saturday works for him. I even plan to keep that radio stock.. The RPM gauge Im guessing isnt stock lol.
  10. Welcome aboard! Best idea - use the search function to look up parts that people suggest. Also poke around the older generation - 80s subaru portion of this Forum, youll find lots of great advice, people working on projects similar to yours etc. Site has amazing people here, and they're all very friendly and want you on the road, showing off your Soob as quick as possible, so rest assured, youre in the right spot!
  11. ^ my question as I was reading this post, thanks for asking!
  12. Well, new to me. 1984 Subaru DL Sedan. 154k miles 5 speed As far as I know, just FWD, but that may change someday (D/R) EA81 engine Shes missing one trim piece on the passenger side that I can see What she needs: Maybe that trim piece (priority 8/10) Axle (Priority 1/10) 2 tires (Priority 2/10) Spark plugs and wires (Priority 2/10) Oil change (Priority 3/10) had one at 152k miles, but shes almost at 155k. Im STOKED! Been driving around in a Pontiac Vibe, and bleh, not happy with Automatics. Pics in a few minutes.
  13. I dont see a picture personally, but if you upload it to photobucket (free) and then copy the image code into a bulletin message here, it will add it, you can preview to make sure it works too. Welcome aboard!
  14. True, he knows his stuff, I believe even has an ej22t right? Great and very helpful, just won't mess around with your head
  15. Crazy ex girlfriend of an ex boyfriend... So at least she should pay for the damage if you know it was her right?
  16. Welcome aboard! Youll find lots of great, useful information, as well as ideas for your Impreza. Lots of great people as well:banana: It shows you as 18, did you purchase her at 18? Mileage, price, etc? Why get rid of the CF hood? Future plans? What part are you looking for lol.
  17. Think I'll stick a tent... Safety is big in my book and I don't wanna get dragged around by a trailer, lose power and go downhill, etc. I have driven my 1.8L ea82 loyale and it didn't feel like much "towing" power.
  18. We havent found "the one" yet, just looking at them and so were hoping to see what I CAN tow before we buy a trailer and then go "oh crap, too heavy"
  19. Vehicle is a 1984 Subaru DL Sedan. Manual - 5 speed transmission. EA-81 engine w/ 154k miles. Can I tow? and how much? Girlfriend wants a tent trailer, but apparently the 2006 Pontiac Vibe wont tow one... so now she moves efforts to my car..

  21. I just put zip code as 21111 since that was in Harford County, so the shipping rate would be close to this... If ordered by the 30th.. it would be about 80 to ship it, so $140 total (60 for rims, 80 for shipping).. Here is the info:
