  1. first off if you live in washington than you dont have a 99 WRX. you may have a 99 impreza but unless its RHD its not a WRX. if you want to put a JDM WRX engine in an impreza you will have a lot of work ahead of you. give us more information on what you have and what you want to do and we can help with about anything you need. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  2. just an update... it has been 2 full weeks with me driving this car every day in the morning and evening in the dark. the lights work awesome and to date i have not been flashed yet, nor have i been pulled over for haveing illeagal lights. i have passed cops both while driving and while they were sitting on the side of the road. i hate to say it but these lights are not the only thing on my car that is not "Washington state leagle", and i dont think i will own another subaru as a daily driver that dose not have these lights. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  3. i have one of those kits that i never used brand new. bought it but then went with an EJ swap. i will sale it to you for $50.00 shipped to your door. can send out day after christmas... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  4. the factory headlamps are not rewired. if i need to i can just unplug the HID bulbs and plug the facroty bulbs back in. all the wiring was done after the factory conector. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  5. this is a pic of the 9004-2 bulb, you can see the HID bulb and the high beam halogen bulb. but like i said in an earlyer post the high beam is useless. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  6. just make sure you know what you are getting and get all of it. remember some of these parts are not easy to find due to the fact that they are JDM. if you start to get parts from here and there you will end up with a frankenstine and may have an even harder time finding parts for it... if you go this route make sure you are saveing a lot of money over buying a front clip, or buying a compleat setup (engine trans ECU wiring harness) from a importer. let me know what route you decided to go... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  7. Ebay link. this guy was awesome. got the box in 3 days... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190064430659&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RCRX_BIN_IT&refitem=190063689136&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget ~UPDATE~ got the highbeams hooked up today by using a relay. not worth my time. the high beams are halagon not HID. the low beams work better than the high beams. but the lights work so well i am going to buy some for my wifes car also... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  8. very doable but would not use a TT many clearance problems with LHD cars. but if you found a EJ207 USDM STI engine drop it in there with very few mods you could have real close to 300AWHP. when you get to that point i will give you some pointers. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  9. it is almost plug and play. only you have to swap the power and ground wires around. the kit i bought has high beam and low beam, but due to the backwards wiring that subaru uses i only have the low beam hooked up right now. the kit is a 9004-2 the -2 means it is high and low beam.
  10. 1988 GL-10 Wagon EA82 With an EJ20G -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  11. the lights on my wagon suck, so i droped like $130 bucks on a set of HID lights for if. bought them from the Bay of E looked like this Before: After: picture was taken about an hour later in the same spot. so far these lights are worth their weight in gold... well almost... only problem is the way Subaru wires the head lights will not work with the high beams. but when i have more time and its not 26*F out i will find out how to get past that... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  12. the center barring needed a washer under it due to the fact that it is taller. but both the GL and the WRX trany have the same output shaft size. but if i could have found another EA82 shaft i would have used that over the WRX shaft. its cheeper to have shortened due to the disigne. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  13. when i did my EJ RX i used the front section, and carrier barring from the WRX clip and the rear section from the RX. the front had to be shortened but it works without a problem -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  14. i am 99% sure a G intake will not work on the K heads. something about aligned "vs" non-aligned bolts into the heads. check on this before you buy it. . P.S. buy a 255l Welbro fuel pump. fits like OEM and you will have no problems with it. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  15. Welcome and Welcome i hope we can answer all of your questions. although we never had the 1.6l in the USA in 88 (we only had the 1.8l OHC EA82) we should be able to steer you in the right direction... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  16. few things: as far as Axels go... the front will work fine as long as you have 25 spline axels. the WRX and your RX trans cases are the same width. for the rear you will need to pull the inner boot apart and use the WRX inner cup and use the RX shaft and outer cup. you have a 50/50 chance of the axel working, there are 2 different diam shafts. if you have the smaller ones they are direct fit, if you have the larger ones you will need a converson race. ( i can get you a part number) for the rad. i would never use the EA82 rad. they are crap IMO. it is not much work to get the EJ rad to fit. and you know it will work (it came with that engine) ECU: if you go compleat stand alone you will be looking for the advil more than you want. if you are getting the front clip you will have the wiring harness and the ECU. why would you go aftermarket. later if you want to be able to tune for mods, then get a Power FC. this uses your OEM harness and will have less problems than makeing your own harness. i think thats all i have for now. any questions shoot me a PM. when you get close to your swap let me know and we will talk... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  17. PM sent -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  18. dose anyone know what an 88 GL-10 heater core should look like? i got this one from NAPA and for some reason the pipes dont look right to me. i have awesome luck with this NAPA store getting me the right parts, a heater core is just a lot of work to find out i have the wrong one. i just want to know if anyone has had one out and can tell me if there are hoses that go from the heater core to the fire wall or if i just got the wrong core. thanks -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  19. bolt it to the back of the back seats. here is my wagon when it had the system in it. (the wires were fixed after the pic was taken) -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  20. i have made one of these. http://educate-yourself.org/fe/fewaterasfuel28jan02.shtml and it did indead make an explosave gas, we filled a balloon up and it did explode when a lighter was placed to it. however it took 10 mins to fill up one balloon. you would have to have have the bed of your truck filled up with cells if you wanted to run a lawn mower engine. will it ever work??? not likely... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  21. thank you. i was honered to even be consitered with all the new gen cars there. i had a lot of fun and look forward to next year. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  22. so far this is looking the best. but now i would have to find a hatch in good shape... and black would be nice... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  23. so as many of you know i have sold my EJ20G powered turbo coupe to another board member (Sister7). thus i am now in need of a new project. one sugestion SVX powered XT6 (been done but would be fun) EJ20 twin turbo brat (maybe... single turbo though) any more sugestions??? -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  24. the brains for the Int wipers is under the dash. its a little blue box with about 12 wires going into it. if this is unpluged the wipers will not work at all. the park function is part of the motor if i remember correctly. the motor has constent ign power, switched power and a ground, when you take power from the switched power, it then uses the constent power to park the wipers. i would suspect a bad motor. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
