  2. well took the Subercoupe to the WCSS this last weekend. 220 miles round trip. Overall about 6 hours of run time on the engine. Used 11.25 gallons of gas. That's 19.5 MPG... not bad, since it has not been totally tuned yet. Took home plaque for best Old School Engine Swap. witch i have won 3 out of the last 4 years with my wagon. Did the whole trip without any issues, other than my but was kinds sore. i guess race seats are not meant to be sat in for hours on end... -=Suberdave=-
  3. well here it is... a short video. sorry the sound sucks. but what do you expect for a digital camera. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  4. got the new trans and clutch in tonight. still have to put the suspension back together and a few bolts up top. but its after midnight and i have to get up at 5:30am so id better get to bed... -=Suberdave=- P.S. ill get some more photos and even a video this Saturday or Sunday.
  5. it has a firewall between the cabin and the engine. it has a plexie glass window in the top half so i can see out the back. in the back on each side of the licence plate i have a 175CFM fan. they both turn on when the engine temp gets to 80*C or if the engine room temp gets to 40*C... i am currently installing a 2005 WRX transmission and a stage II Exedy clutch. -=Suberdave=-
  6. have you tried this guy? http://www.indysworld.com/decals/ i have gotten some decals from him before. -=Suberdave=-
  7. here are some pics of my car during the FMIC install http://www.suberdave.com -=Suberdave=-
  8. Took the Subercoupe for its maiden voyage today... went about 15 miles. car ran awesome. needs an alignment very bad. ill take it to work tomorrow and do that. currently working on the trans and clutch issue. hope to have that done before WCSS... ill try to get some more pics tomorrow when i have it on a lift. -=Suberdave=-
  9. sorry. i want to work on it just as bad as you want to see more pictures. however i am back to work full time and dont have much time in the evenings. i will try to get some more done in the next few days and get some more pictures or video... i did however get tabs and insurance last weekend. so i can drive it on the road. as long as i dont get pulled over for loud exhaust... -=Suberdave=-
  10. i have done it many times on EA82 cars. cant imagine its that much different on an EA81... just pull the stock pedal box. put the hydro box in place. and drill 3 holes for the clutch master. and bolt it up... just did one on my Subercoupe. took about 45 min. -=Suberdave=-
  11. if you have both the EA82 rear shafts and WRX shafts, its not all that hard. if you dont have all the parts, i have axle parts coming out my ears. i can help you. or do it for you. shoot me a PM... -=Suberdave=-
  12. i went with the Link G4 Extreme this time. pretty much the same as the ViPEC V88 but a bit cheaper. but yeah it is being tuned at Drift Office. -=Suberdave=-
  13. if you need some shafts that will make this work. just let me know. i can sale you just the parts that you need, or i can make you some shafts that will be plug and play. -=Suberdave=-
  14. shawn, this is why i was PMing you about VW cooling systems... not for a VW, but still needed some of the same info... -=Suberdave=-
  15. you never saw this car up for sale, maybe one like it. i bought this Coupe from a friend, it never had a for sale sign in it. i am not so much interested in seeing numbers. as i am dying to step on the go pedal all the way through the gears and see what it will do... with the glass in, the noise is not all that loud. with it out it is much louder. lets just say with no mufflers, this is one of few cars i have seen everyone at the dyno shop, use ear plugs... however i do want to change that. i will make it somewhat loud, but i need it to be driveable... -=Suberdave=-
  16. i guess you cant really see it in any of the pictures. but it has one. the top part is plexi-glass, and the bottom is sheet metal. it is built around the roll cage. -=Suberdave=-
  17. i currently have an AWD trans in it. it just has the center diff welded and the tail shaft housing pulled and a plate on the rear of the trasn. my plan is to do that same thing to a newer WRX trans. -=Suberdave=-
  18. the trans that is in it now will not be staying in it. im still trying to find a different tans, and clutch that will hold more power. -=Suberdave=-
  19. Started out live as a FWD 5 speed, SFI 1.8L N/A Now with: 50% more Cylinders (H6 EG33) 100% more Rear Wheel Drive 100% more Subercharger (Eaton M90) 100% more tail pipes (dual Exhaust) 100% more body Kit (stock RX body kit) 100% more tuneability (standalone ECU) 1000X more awesomeness!!! and the engine has been moved back about 10 feet... Makeing its first Public Showing at THE BIG NORTH WEST SUBARU SHOW!!! Took it to the tuner today. the clutch held up for 2 pulls to 4K, then started to slip big time... guess a stock EJ18 Clutch will not hold the torque of an EG33... First Startup: Real Quick Dyno pull with clutch slip... more pictures to come... I promise you that... -=Suberdave=-
  20. Ended up running 13.8@100mph on 11lbs of boost... will be running again this weekend (if weather is good to us) will be running 15-16lbs should brake into mid to low 13's... -=Suberdave=- P.S. Thanks for the Pic...
  21. i have some 205/55r16's on wrx wheels, on my coupe right now, they fit just fine... i mounted some 225/45R17's on it, on some volk 17X8s and they fit also. but they did rub a little on full turn. and did stick out a bit. -=Suberdave=-
  22. thanks. my second run was a good launch but the run was so-so. i was only running 11lbs of boost. im going to go back soon, and run where i normal run it, at 15-16 lbs. should be much more fun...

  23. cool keep me posted,

  24. I love the locker idea... however i dont think you can patent something, when you have a picture of the one that you copied, sitting right next to the one that you printed... Im with Gloyale. build them and sale them. but if you try to patent you will most likely get sued by one of the many companies that make lockers. you did not invent the locker. you simply re sized it and made it fit into an R160 rear diff. just because it goes into a Subaru diff, does not make it a different project/patent. not trying to shoot down your project, i'm sure you can sale many of them. but i would not be worried about someone steeling "your" idea. If the market was big enough, many companies with lots more money and resources than any of us have, would be making them already. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
