  1. well today i got the right EDFC kit. should have it on tomorrow or saturday. then we can see how these things really handel... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  2. you found the place. if you need any info ask questions and someone will have the answer... good luck on the checker board int. -=Suberdave=-
  3. i curently have tie rod ends from a JDM 96 WRX. just like the rest of my front susp. but i dont know if the USDM stuff is the same. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  4. Correct!!! the hole for the lower ball joint and the tierod end are both larger on the XT6. but you can use JDM WRX ball joints and tierods. so this may mean that USDM impreza ball joints and tie rod ends may work also in the XT6 knuckle. and easier/cheeper to find. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  5. i have 2 pot 96 WRX calapers on the front and single pot Nissan SX200 calapers on the rear. stops awesome. no dipping or diving. may consider ceramic pads when the current ones need replaceing... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  6. they handle amazing. a little bumpy but not half as bad as the Ebay coilovers i had O-So-Long-Ago. handles like i have a Subaru train, on rails i say. the only down side is i could not lower the rear as much as i would like. due to the fact that i had to lower the strut top to fit the EDFC motor. here are a few pics. its a bit dirty but O-well... and the tires are 205/40/17's -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  7. car seems to drive awesome with the new struts. i have not gotten it out on the highway yet, i just got brand new tires and dont want to screw them up. i will be doing an alignment tomorrow. then i will get this thing out on some twistys. i will also get some pics tomorrow when its light out. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  8. not true. the electric fan is controled by the thrmo swithc but it also comes on as soon as you turn the A/C on. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  9. close. but they are for an 05+ legacy. i beleave the fronts are about the same as late model WRX or STI. but the rear are much different and have that nice little eyelet at the bottom just like an EA82... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  10. you make some good points. now all i have to do is catch up form my latest mod. and start looking for a JDM 6sp for my wagon. if no one else is willing to try it. my wagon may have to be the test rat. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  11. i bought them from http://www.worldoneperformance.com/ (the store not online) for abut $200 under MSRP. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdav.com
  12. not likely. unless you have an XT6, Impreza or legacy. i have the front knuckles from a 96 WRX and they bolted right up... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  13. yeah p0420 is bad main cat... P0420 CAT CAT Efficiency Below Threshold P0440 EVAP EVAP Emission Control System -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  14. EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) makes it possible for the driver to control the damping force by controlling a motor installed in the shock absorber while being seated in the driver's seat. Since the damping force can be manually controlled with ease to meet different situations, the driver can enjoy variations in the suspension setting. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  15. i have been looking into the same thing. but i am to the point that i need to take some dimensions. i dont know if the trans tunel in the RX would be large enough for the 6sp. it is much larger than the 5sp. also you would not be able to use an adapter from an EA motor to an EJtype trans. you would have to get rid of a 1/2 inch. whereas when you do an EJ engine and an EA trans you have to add a 1/2 inch
  16. well i bit the bullet and droped some CA$H!!! on a full Tein Flex system with EDFC. although they ordered me the wrong EDFC so it is not installed yet. here is what i have done so far. here is the strut tower, i had to cut the holes different. the legacy top hats had the studs out about 1/2 inch futher apart then i welded in some large washers. fronts installed... fit right onto the 96 WRX front knuckle i am using now for the rears. i had to modify the tops so they would bolt up in place of the GL struts. i also had to move them down like the BYB lift kit dose, so i could fit the EDFC motor on top of them. (this can be seen in the final install pic). i used a bushing to go from the Legacy 14mm hole down to the GL 12mm hole. final rear install pic i have not gotten to drive it much, do to the fact that it was dark when i got done and time to go inside. but when i drove it around the block. it seems a little stiff. but i will see. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  17. the 31-34 2.2l is non OBDII and non interferance. so you wont have any check engine lights on (if you chose to hook the light up). and way less wiring... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  18. search my name or go to my websight www.suberdave.com/subaru i have done 2 now and Dr.RX has also done one into an EA-82 car. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  19. if you are close and dont mind looking for a few peices that thay may not come with. i would say thats an awesome deal. if i do another one i may go this route if i cant find another clip... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  20. i have bought both localy payed around $2500 but easily sold over $500 such as alum. lower control arms rear disk brakes, front bumper cover, alum. hood, turbo cross member, ect... one i bought off the bay of E. just happeded to be 30 mins from my house, and the other from a vender also about 30 mins away. i see them on the net for about that price every once in a while, but would have to pay shipping. i guess im lucky, these two just came along at the right time... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  21. yeah that looks like about everything you would need for a swap only thing i can think of that is not shown is rear diff and axels. however i dont know how good of a deal that would be. the mileage is kinda high, and it looks kinda rough. i have done 2 swaps now. but both times i have bought compleat front clips... this is my prefered method, do to the fact that you know you have everything you need. yes i did pay a bit more for them but they had less than 50K miles on them and came with the compleat rear subframe with diff and rear axles. and you get the front susp and brakes that you can put on your GL and have way better brakes. just my $0.02 -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  22. this may be way off, but pull the dist. cap and make sure the screw did not fall out of the rotor. this has happened to me. kinda felt like the fuel was running out. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  23. you should have come. it was awesome. they are planing on doing it again next spring... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
