  1. RA trans (Pre DCCD) and rearend (R160 4.111:1 LSD) -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  2. Aukeen Drivelines in Kent Washington. $115.00. to shorten and ballance the 2 peace shaft. its a small joint but he dose good work. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  3. got her started today, started right up with stock fuel pump, still need to get a welbro pump. got the power steering lines done. and most of the wiring, the only wiring i have left to do is the rad. fan. if things go well i should have this thing ready for WCSS8. now all i have to do is find a driver... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  4. the WRX has never had a 2.2l engine (that i know of). it has always been a 2.0l, JDM 1993 till present, USDM 2000 till 2006 in 2006 it went to a 2.5l, the USDM STI has always been a 2.5l. but the "most reliable" trubo engine is up for debate... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  5. good to hear. only wish we could see that thing at WCSS8. sounds like a real runner. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  6. i beleave the wheel side is the same on all EA-82's the only differeance is the trany side. turbo=25 N/A=23. i know for a fact that turbo EA-82 and XT6 are the same, as well as early JDM WRX (93-96). and all are 25 spline at the trans. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  7. keep them. much easyer that way... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  8. i have not had a lot of time to work on my new car. but i am making good progress. i just hope to have it done before WCSS8. i hope to have the wiring done this week. then once thats done its all down hill from there... engine compartment painted... engine in... wiring harness in but not compleat... for more pictures check out my webpage at: http://www.suberdave.com/subaru/RX-RA/index.htm -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  9. yeah i have had to put new cables on 3 of my GL's now. any ea82 cable should work fine. just look at the new/used one and make sure the wires are not fraying at eather end. not to hard to do should take you about 15 min. out and 15 min. back in. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  10. radiator fits with some work. cut some of the core support out and make it sit on the lower ledg rather than the upper one. then mount the fans on the front. they work better out there anyhow... i made brakets for the lower nubs to fit into... and i had to cut bits out of the top of the core support for it to fit. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  11. if you look at pic #18 you can see that he has spacers that go from 4X140 to 4X100. and make the wheels stick out to match the body... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  12. not realy my cup of tea. but awesome work. kinda looks like a subaru del sol to me... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  13. i thought the title of this post was, Twinstick EA81 w/Pics not "you should have went with an EJ22" or "should have done it to a D/R 5sp..." not a single person has said. man thats awesome... good idea... i should have thought of that... but I for one, do think that is awesome. and haveing seen it done. i may try to do it myself. just my $0.02 -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  14. i beleave the only turbo that came with a D/R is the turbo coupe and RX. the older ones came with a part time 4WD D/R and the later ones came with a FT4WD D/R. any trans should hold up to the EA82T. but if you go with a Turbo trany you will need to get new front axels and rear diff. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  15. dont quote me but i beleave the plugs for that ECU can come from any USDM legecy from 91-94 or any JDM WRX from 93-96. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  16. here is what i have posted many times..... try search look up suberdave if you are looking to do a compleat EJ swap. here is how you do it. PM me or post a ? if you dont understand something. someday i will get around to doing a write-up and putting it on my webpage. currently i am working on my 2nd compleat EJ swap into an EA-82, i did a 96 JDM EJ20G in my 88 GL10 wagon. took 2 weeks. the engine drops right in (as long as you have a turbo X-member) the trany bolts right up if you use the front and rear X-member peaces from an XT6 and the center peace from a WRX. the drive shaft has to be shortened 55MM. the rear diff bolts right up (my 4.111:1 R160 LSD) the rear axels you have to buy adapters to mount the EJ inners to the EA axles, cost $6 each from rockford CV. the front EJ axels bolt right up. (if you use EJ front knuckles) i used the WRX front struts, knuckles, hubs, barrings, rotors, tie rod ends and calapers (stock 2pot). XT6 lower control arms. the EJ radeator fits with some triming. the shift linkage must be shortend. then use rear hubs, roters, calapers and backing plates from an XT6, this way you have 5X100 in the rear also. 17X7 wheels fit nicely with an offset of 40-42 and 205/40R17 tires (the spedo is even right on with 4.111:1 gears) the wiring takes the longest. but if you have a good diagram its not a problem. just remember "do it once, do it right" i think i got everything. but im sure i for got something. if you need to know more, post or PM... check out my websight for more pics. sorry no write-up yet... www.suberdave.com -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  17. i know this much. the ECU from my 88 GL 10 will not work in my 87 GL 10. tryed it, just turned over. didnt check to see why cuz the old ECU worked just fine. just wanted an extra. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  18. here is a pic of the chip goes. this is an ECU from a 95 Ver2 Sti RA my ECU dose not have a chip here at all. (the one with the sticker on it) Pic from XSNRG -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  19. its not a vf22 its a TDO5H turbo... just for the recoard. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  20. i was reading the August issue of Car and Driver. they took a 2006 legacy 2.5GT and put the Flex with the EDFC (electronic damping force controller) on it so you could adjust the damping from inside the car on the fly. the pic of the coilovers look very close to what would be needed on an EA82. i already have WRX susp. up front so the front would be a direct fit. and the rear look real close. just need some top hat work. this is something i was tinking about doing also. now that it has been done, it may happen sooner. the only down side is it cost almost $2000.00 -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  21. on mine i used the stock WRX stopper. if you have an EA trans you need to find a stopper purch from an XT6 or a XT w/ spider intake. or the WRX one may fit on the EA trans. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  22. go to www.download.com and download a program called Easy Thumbnails it is very easy to use (hince the name). -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  23. what are you doing friday. i could come up after work, i get off at 4:00pm. maybe i could be of some help. let me know if you will be working on that beast friday evening... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
