  1. i didnt say an EJ turbo swap. i just said EJ swap. the EA82t has 115HP the EJ22 has 142HP and yeah you can find a 2.2 legacy around here for $500. if you want to do a 2.2t swap i have seen many 2.2t legacys go for around 1k, or if you really wanted to make that thing move. a WRX 260HP clip can be found for 2.5k ish. just my $0.02 take it for what its worth. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com=-
  2. if your going to go through all that trouble to do a swap. i would go with an EJ swap. it will cost you about the same and you will be doing the same work. and you will get more HP. cant loose. -=Suberdave=-
  3. i would say that is way to high. unless your running 114 octain fuel... i would say 6-7 PSI would be good with high comp. but i dont think you can go that low with a td04.. -=Suberdave=-
  4. i have done 3 subaru engines that way now. i have never used tires, always used cinder blocks. but you get the point. much easyer than pulling out the top -=Suberdave=-
  5. it can be done. as seen on my webpage. http://www.suberdave.com. USDM STI's are EJ25, EJ205, EJ207 JDM STI's are EJ20. (correct me if im wrong, i dont know much about newer Subaru stuff.) it will take some minor modification, but it only took me about 100 hours to do mine. the wiring is the hardest part. everything else just about bolts right up... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  6. make sure that the belt is on right. if one of the cams is 180* out it may not start at all. -=Suberdave=-
  7. sign up and post pics. dosnt cost anythnig and ist real easy... -=Suberdave=-
  8. here it is... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2359852 tell me what you think....... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  9. nope i have done a few engines that did not have one. just get that thing tight. i have had one come off. thats not fun... the last one i did, i made a role pin so it couldnt back off. -=Suberdave=-
  10. if i read this post correctly you have a EA-82T now. the T means its turbo. even the EA-82T's dont have the T on the block. but if your car is a turbo car now you have an EA-82T in there now.
  11. what was wrong with the fuel and spark? congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!! now its time to get that bad motha' on the road for a test drive... -=Suberdave=-
  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TEX!!!!!!!!!! hey i can get away with using all caps today... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  13. i used a clutch/brake pedal box from a WRX, worked awesome. but i did mine in a EA82. yours i bleave is a EA81. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  14. next time i go out i will give it a little more. i had so much going on i could hardly think. this was the first time going down the track in close to 5 years. the car is running 15PSI of boost, stock for that engine. stock management. right lane was a late 60's dodge dart. i hope for his sake it was a slant 6... -=Suberdave=-
  15. well i went out to Pacific Raceways in Kent Wa. today. I think i did alright. i went 14.696sec @ 96.28MPH with a horable take off. (didnt want to leave the trany on the track) but i think i could have done better. i was in the left lane car# 4096 -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  16. i beleave the VSS wire is yellow. and you will need it. if your 86 dash was out of an injected car it should have it. if it is out of a carb. car. you may have a problem. -=Suberdave=-
  17. when you are running 8k front springs and 6k rear springs, i dont think that whimpy little sway bar dose much anyhow... -=Suberdave=-
  18. i have a HKS turbo timer. there is no "speed wire" it jsut goes inline with the ign switch and has a seperate ground wire... easy as pie. its from a JDM WRX. no mod needed. -=Suberdave=-
  19. i do beleave these will fit. but your car will ride like a dump truck when they are in. the spring rate on these are like 450lbs front and 350lbs rear. way to stiff. -=Suberdave=-
  20. if you have the car for a doner. there is not much else you have to buy, other than my front clip i think i am into my swap around $500.00 and 100 of that was just the fuel pump. and another $100 for shortening the driveline. -=Suberdave=-
  21. check out my webpage www.suberdave.com or http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50903 -=Suberdave=-
