congrats, good to hear its back on the raod. -
The last few days have been very productive, (man its nice not working on Saturday) Well I finally got my GM 2.2l Ecotec throttle body on my spider intake. It’s about ¼ inch larger bore and it has an idle air controller for MS&EDIS Here is the spacer plate that my little brother cut for me on a waterjet. This is what it looks like all put together. Now I just need to get my MS&EDIS so I can use the IAC. And I guess it has to be in the car before it will work….

what the heck is that? is it an XT6 wagon? or what? kinda cool though

Cruise C. not working, AT/MT conversion
suberdave replied to CHIM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you have to make the computer think that the car is in N or P to get it to start, but it has to be in D for the cruse to work, i rigged up a switch so it is in P to start and then i can switch it to D when i want to engage cruse, and it makes a good theft switch, if its in D a car jacker cant even hotwire it at the ign switch. thats what i did, im sure there are other ways to to it. thats my $.02 -
what models had the Limited slip rear?
suberdave replied to subarubuddy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
all LSD are 3.7:1 do to the fact that they all come out of turbo cars. and i have herd word of a 3.9:1 in an XT6 but have never seen one. anyone that has a 3.9:1 LSD has taken the carrier out of a 3.7:1 diff and installed it into a 3.9:1 ring gear. the gear ratio is writen on the Diff lable/sticker. and the front ratio will be the same as the rear ratio, otherwise massave tire bind will accure this is how i understand it, correct me if i am wrong -
Sundays with Radiators II
suberdave replied to belizeanbus's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thats your A/C condenser, no worries, just pull the radiator out and leave that in there. if your A/C works, dont cut the lines or put a hole in it, doing this will cause the A/C to not work any longer... good luck -
you have to use a sprigh compressor, then beat all the dirt out of them and turn the base, its pritty easy

Need some opinions....
suberdave replied to subaru_styles's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
paint to match. when its a different color it looks like you didnt have enough money for both the kit and the paint. like a honda ricer with a red car and yellow body kit... my $.02 -
i am curently working on a larger TB for my spider, it came off of a GM ecotec 2.2L. the reason i am using this TB, is it has a larger bore, and it has the GM IAC for my future MSnEDS system. the throtle setup is also much smaller so the TMIC fits better. i will take pictures soon.

i put a set of these on a saturn at my work. thay said you had to use resisterless spark plugs with them, the plugs came out about a week later and the wires came off the next week, they were causing all kinds of missfires and IC cam ref. codes. i say stick to the good old NGS's and use the other $100.00 for something else cool. just my thoughts... for what there worth...

Cone filters: How do you get cold air?
suberdave replied to Phaedras's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i cut the hole with a 3 inch hole saw, and the pipe is a cut up intake from a 2000+ saturn sl2. (hey it was free) works awesome and sounds good to, cant get much colder air than that. and there is enough medal around the filter to keep water out. -
