  1. finished up the downpipe and PCV "T" today. took it for a short drive, runs awesome. im not sure about the sound with the equel lenight header, but we will see... so far so good...
  2. if you missed it a while back, here is the build thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=108197
  3. Specs: 2005 EJ257 Block, crank, rods 1997 STI EJ20K Heads (Pollished Intake Ports) JE Deep Dish Pistons\ STI Head Gaskets / will give me 8.75:1-8.80:1 compression ratio 1997 STI EJ20K Cams 1996 EJ20G intake manifold (ported and painted) and wiring 1996 EJ20H Timing Belt Covers 2003 EJ207 VF37 Twin Scroll Turbo 1" Intake Spacers to allow front inlet turbo Phenolic intake spacers EJ20K Power Steering Pump ViPEC standalone ECU (Currently in the car) ARP Head Studs Gates HP Timing Belt Excedy Twin Disc clutch Custom Built -6 AN Parrallel Fuel Rails Sard Fuel Pressure Regulator Video: Now i just have to weld up the downpipe. get a "T" for the PCV to the chetch can and work on the idle... Then drive it, brake it in, and tune it...
  4. sounds to me like a stock Z4 ECU with a chip. not an aftermarket. should be able to hook up the stock Slect monitor cable. however, you would have to have a JDM slect monitor, that would read the Z4 ECU. not to mention that it may not comm. with a chiped ECU.
  5. best bet... buy four lock solinodes and an aftermarket remote lock/alarm system... this will make it quite easy...
  6. if your engine has a TDO5 it is most likely an EJ20G... that wiring harness you have posted in your link will do you no good. you will need a EJ20G harness or you if you have some knowledge with wiring you can make a USDM turbo legacy harness work, with a little more wiring you can make an N/A 2.2 lagecy harness work... sounds like you may already have the Stock WRX ECU? it can be done, i have done it a few times... but its a lot of work. when you get ready to start, if you have any questions let me know. i will help you with what i can...
  7. good looking pics. i wish i could get some good pics of my car... i dont care what anyone says about the hood... i like it. wouldn't mind having one of my own... hint... hint...
  8. sweet. you keep doing work to that thing, you may have to keep her forever...
  9. the oil pressure light wire and the coolant temp wire dont run through the ECU. but they are green/white and white/green. dont remember witch one is witch...
  10. Bring me your car, you source an adapter plate and flywheel. and i will drop a EJ18 in it. you can drive it away for $1500 for the engine and labor... may have some cost for other small stuff... This is only due to the fact that i currently have an EJ18 ready to rock sitting on my gerage floor, with the wiring and all done... PM me if interested...
  11. Hey, if one of you guys i NZ want a 5lug swap on your EA/Leone. I've got the solution to your problem... buy a plain ticket for me to NZ and i will bring all the parts from an XT6 and help you install them on your car... heck i wont even charge you for the parts... Ok so buying the crossbred kit will be cheeper, but if you go that route i dont get a free ticket to New Zealand...
  12. this weekend i am doing a V6 STI swap into a 94 Impreza wagon, but i may be able to help out next weekend. ill have to look at the calinder to see if i have anything going...
  13. rails are to narrow. but can be cut and notched to make it fit... the SOHC EJ will fit the DOHC will not... but if you make it work. that would be one heck of a ride...
  14. i beleave the EGR was only on California cars... all others dont have one...
  15. This should help... its for a 2004 USDM WRX that has an EJ205... http://www.suberdave.com/USMB/USDM%20WRX%2020%20Wireing.pdf
  16. IAC stuck, poss vacuume leak, if the idle is high, its getting extra air from somewhere...
  17. update: got the heads on and the timing componits done. intake and exhaust on.
  18. I wont be saleing the old engine, i will keep it in the gerage so if i blow this one up, i can have it back up and running in a few days... i dont like to look at how much money i have into my car. i like to look at it like this... the whole car probably cost less than a used 04ish STi would cost me... and its paid off, and full coverage insurance cost me less than $80 a month... -=Suberdave=-
  19. i sold the GL coupe. it was not an RX, they were all black or white. mine was red. it was a fun car...

  20. I dont think a NA ECU will work without some sort of piggieback ECU. as soon as the NA ECU sees boost it will freak out... you need to check out; http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=50 it is a Normally Aspirated with bolt-on Forced Induction Powertrain fourm on NASIOC... if i were you i would buy a factory turbo exhaust manifold and up pipe, along with a factory downpipe. this will put your turbo in a nice easy location, with lots of turbo options.
  21. if you are doing a JDM EJ20? look into ViPEC. that is what i have and i love it. super easy to tune, and very drivable. i have had it on my daily driver for almost 15K now and love it... if going USDM EJ20? stock ECU with accesport or open source should do what you need... i have done 3 full EJ20 swaps 2 EJ20G's and one EJ207, and a few other subaru swaps. if you have any questions shoot me a PM... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  22. So the time has come to build a new engine for my car, not because the old engine has anything wrong with it, but just becaues i want to build a new engine for my car with more torque... Hopeing for a quick spooling high torque engine with this one... Specs: 2005 EJ257 Block, crank, and rods 1997 STI EJ20K Heads (Pollished Intake Ports) JE Deep Dish Pistons\ STI Head Gaskets / will give me 8.75:1-8.80:1 compression ratio 1997 STI EJ20K Cams 1996 EJ20G intake manifold (ported and painted) and wiring 1996 EJ20H Timing Belt Covers 2003 EJ207 VF37 Twin Scroll Turbo 1" Intake Spacers to allow front inlet turbo Phenolic intake spacers EJ20K Power Steering Pump ViPEC standalone ECU (Currently in the car) ARP Head Studs Gates HP Timing Belt Excedy Twin Disc clutch Custom Built -6 AN Parrallel Fuel Rails Sard Fuel Pressure Regulator its all going into this car 1988 GL-10 Wagon. currently has a 96 WRX EJ20G tuned at 293WHP 275 WTQ. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
