  1. Man... what i wouldnt give for one of those... if you find another one in a yard or something... PM me and let me know what you want for it........ i didnt know they ever made a spoiler for an EA wagon...
  2. i had the same problem... i just ran a die up the inner tierod. then cut it an inch shorter... cheeper than buying mor parts.
  3. subarutex (i think that is his screen name) did it. he could give you more info. but i beleave it was a pain and not worth much...
  4. if you want good responce to the questions, we need more info. are you trying to put an EJ20? into an EA81 EA82 Car? what kind of EJ20 are you looking to swap, if its anything other than an EJ205 than it wont be OBD2 any how. if you are trying to put full OBD2 electronics into a non OBD2 body, this will be very hard, you will have to add pressure sensors in the fuel tank, a full Evap system, upon much more... i have done many swaps both in EA and EJ body cars. so i think i have experienance. but you need to give us more info. and if you are overwhelmed with the thoughts of OBD1 wiring, then i wouldnt even try OBD2 wiring... and lastly you use the words "Hack" OBD2? are you talking about hacking the ECU so you can retune it? if that is the case, you can add rom chips to the OBD1 ECU's and "Hack" them also...
  5. also if you use the 3M tape (witch works awesome if used right) pick up some adhesive promoter, this will help the tape stick much better... i have used it many times...
  6. check your wires... most cars use one ground and two powers (one for high and one for low) Subarus use two grounds and one power. so you have to do some wiring to make it work. this is what i had to do when i installed HID's in my car...
  7. you can buy the welbro 255lph in line pump for right around $100 and it works awesome and you will never run out of fuel...
  8. when i put my EJ20G into my 88 GL-10 with the digi dash, i tryed for hours to get the tach to work. i could not get it to work at all... i had to get an Autometer tach adapter insted, with an exturnal tach.
  9. glad to see that you have some pics of this thing up. i was starting to wonder if you wanted anyone to know that you had a nother brat...
  10. the intake ports are different. the heads will bolt up. the exhaust will bolt up. but the intake will not bolt up. the turbo has duel ports, the NA has a single port...
  11. i think the body kit and the spoiler needs to be black. with some dark tint on the windows. looks good...
  12. i "hate" to say this. but it still sounds like a VW!!!
  13. Also dont forget the timing marker that is on the front of the engine, with the spider, its hard to see the mark on the flywheel. if you are going with a maga squirt, i would get the spider intake. if you are intereste, i have a polshed spider with a GM TB on it with the GM 4 wire IAC. and a GM TPS. this will make idle control much easer with a Magasquirt. let me know if you are interested...
  14. here is what mine looks like... i used a leaf gard for a gutter, i bought it at home depot for like $3.00.
  15. Thanks everyone for your kind words... Carter is doing well he finaly started gaining weight after loosing some birth weight. he is back up to 5lbs 3 oz. Lisa and i are also doing well. for now we even get to sleep most of the night, with about 2-3 mid night feedings. Thanks again,
  16. he is way to small for this shirt, but im sure it will be his favorite soon... Carter Lee Lewis was born on September 5th at 10:22 PM after waiting in the hospital for one week (and 12 minutes) on bed rest. He weighed 5 lbs, 6 oz at birth and is 18 and 3/4 in long. My wifes water broke while we were at WCSS 11, saturday night right before bed. We went to the nearest hospital - a 45 minute drive to Beverton (just outside of Portland). After not going into labor, they sent us to a hospital closer to home (Overlake) via ambulance. my wife went into labor on Saturday night and had him very shortly thereafter. We went home Monday night. He had to stay in the NICU because he came 4 and a 1/2 weeks early, but only for a 6 hour study, then he came back to our room. He is small and sleepy, but otherwise doing well. More info and lots of pictures at: www.suberdave.com/Carter
  17. i am running a one piece driveshaft on my 88 GL-10. but i am running a 6sp trany. the angle is close, with the EA trans it would be better. i dont know if i would do it again. i would probably just go with a newer 2 piece shaft, i dont know if the one piece has any advantages.
  18. you could use a speed sensor from a late model trans. it screws into the speedo cable hole. and is a two wire sensor. if you want one to try out. let me know i have a few of them. from putting newer tranys into older cars. you just pull them out and screw the cable in the same hole... i think tha makes since.
  19. they will work just fine. All you need is a 5 lug swap, using Impreza or Legacy front hubs and a trany with 25 spline axels. say RX FTAWD D/R. or Turbo S/R. other than that they will work just fine.
  20. True, however at the rate the economy is going, in 20 years, $5000 will be equal to todays $500.
  21. I would say ~1800 to $2000. I sold my lifted GL-10 for $1800 with a EJ22 swap RX FTAWD D/R and LSD. But if you find the right buyer you may get more.
  22. to heck with the code. i want to know how you bent a sway bar. unless you heat it up with a torch. you cant bend a spring steel bar. that is what it is ment to do. bend then bend back to its normal pos. just food for thought.
  23. i did a EJ to EJ turbo swap, and kept the A/C. the only differance is about 4 wires that have to be connected... tge bigest problem will be getting the compressor to connect to the engine...
  24. the reason the EJ impreza axles are to long for me, is i have a 6 Speed in my wagon now. the 6 speed is a bit wider than the 5 speed.
