I have a 32-36 webber with electric choke, but it doesn't seem to work at all.. how do I get it working? putting a wire from the choke to the battery doesn't do anything.. Think it might be bad?

OUCH!! but I think I may have an idea. you know how the XT spider intake is a 3 piece manifold? the main part and then two tubes that hold the injectors? why not make something like that? -

I know what road I'm taking there..:banana: looks like some insanely twisty back road! http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=morton+WA&daddr=46.132267,-122.008667+to:Stevenson,+WA&geocode=%3B%3BFTstuQIdHCC8-A&hl=en&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=9&via=1&sll=46.075136,-122.082825&sspn=1.036508,2.117615&ie=UTF8&ll=46.357354,-121.92627&spn=0.515597,1.058807&z=10 -
There were enough subarus there that I'm sure they had a good radiator.

I thought JDM meant Japanese Dealer Market... like OEM.. whats OEM mean?

Tumwater pick-a-part (by Olympia)has two XT's, one is an XT6 without an engine, auto tranny. but the rear diff and the front suspension looks like its all there.. the back hubs are missing, interior is somewhat there. Front 5-lug hubs are still there. The XT looks like it has complete drivetrain and suspension components, back window is missing and the interior is almost all gutted.. few other Subarus there.. but I was only looking at the XT6 If you all knew about it sorry If not.. check it out.. might have something you need

Oh whoops I misread it.. What I seen was the Cyclops front end on an 86 wagon.. not hatch
-
I've seen it done, and funny thing is, it was done by a redneck who hit a deer.. I talked to the guy and complimented him on the nice front end. He said he got the front end from the junkyard and bolted it on..

REVISION 8/1: Brat Rebuild Project 99.9%!
STI_Wolf replied to ettev's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Wow, your Brat is beautiful. I'm breathless. -
I was originally planning on doing this when I built my car, but funds forced me to stop with just the 4wd conversion. I'd be more then willing to help you swap it! Would be a good moral boost for me to actually do it to my own car too.
-
Really cool, Cant wait to see it on the road!
-
unfortunately oil didn't help at all, I rebuilt all the mechanical parts on the dist with my old one, and its still doing it. I'm going to need a ride to Tacoma PaP..
-
buahhahaha! wheelie time!
-
So are you in? or anyone elce in? lol
-
This is EXACTLY what its doing: It's NOT my car obviously, but it gives a perfect example of what I'm stuck with.
-
Cant wait to see it done! Are you going to try to get it to EC?
-
Piston rings blow out? Causing massive blow-by? Do a dry/wet compression test.. If the rings are still good then there should be no difference between the two. Or just stick an EA81 in there and give me the disty off the blown engine.
-
It's not an FI it's a carbed.. so I'll probably just get a used one at PaP.. I'll try that too, thanks.
