  1. I believe the hatch regulators were unique due to the door shape (can any of you EA81 people confirm this?) but all years, '80 through to '89, should fit it.
  2. It's definitely cheaper on eBay...but I don't have holes in my floor...all glass is there...the roof is solid...it's in decent shape. Brake work and an ignition coil is all it needs to pass state inspection. (And wiper blades--no one stocks 11" wiper blades.) But best of luck to you on that one.
  3. The coil on my Justy has gone bad twice, as has the ignition switch and one of the modules/sensors between the ignition switch and the starter itself...ignition was not one of the Justy's strong points :-\ I would start by looking for any chewed wires, then bypass the ignition switch, then bypass all of the sensors/modules between the starter and the switch.
  4. Please excuse the shameless hijack...but...my 360 is for sale here, in this marketplace :-) See that posting for price/specs.
  5. If you want bolt-in seats, go with XT, XT6 or GL-10 seats. They're all height-adjustable so they should be more accomodating towards your altitude. (Note that XT DL seats do NOT have the height adjustment.) XT6 seats were also available in leather between 1989 and 1991 (although they're quite rare). Legacy seats will require some simple modifications but are very comfortable. The same goes for seats out of a VW Golf or Merkur Scorpio (comfy, right size and easily made to fit). Hope this gives you some ideas...
  6. Tom, I could've had it crated and shipped for you, I got back from Surfers Paradise about six weeks ago. That looks like a very nice setup...is it street legal, though? What did you have to do to get a wof? And where exactly on the coast are you? (I'm going to try to go back within the next year or so)
  7. If need be I have another one off of an EA82T that I can run down to you. The one you have is off my mom's old XT. (Pulled about 8 hours before you came up...) I think I still have one from an SPFI lying around too. Best of luck!
  8. a VIC-20 would've been an improvement! Actually I've got a new-in-box VIC20 and a couple C64s lying around if anyone's interested...all the C64 junk is going to the dumpster anyway, if you need anything PM me and it's yours for shipping Paul, if you need computer help, give me a call any time. I think I'm probably the closest computer nerd to you...and I don't do just Macs. It'll give me the chance to work off all those lunches I owe you
  9. So far as I know moosens is still trying to get it back here. I think Jamie (SubieGal) had seconds on it if he realized he was in over his head.
  10. No help needed, I felt the same way right after I got my Forester...I dumped the Forester in April for a VW Beetle, and I'll be getting an RX in a couple of weeks. I feel much better now, too. The GL-10 I had is going through a restoration, by the way...I decided it was worth it. I'm hopefully going to end up with a GL-10 turbowagon and an XT Turbo, and the Beetle. Everything else is going to be sold/scrapped/parted (except for the "classics").
  11. I'd say around $5-600 in my neck of the woods. Mine was $400, delivered but badly rusted. (GL-10 turbo part-time S/R 4WD wagon). Out here we've got them everywhere, but they're ALL rusty. Which is why I'm paying $125, plus shipping, for the fenders & doors off of the $40 sedan in Rick's driveway :-\
  12. Is there any way I can send you the money via PayPal?
  13. It means GL-10 turbo 4WD (or, highly unlikely but possible, Canadian GL turbo 4WD with air suspension). US GLs were not available with the air setup. Canadian ones were but were almost never ordered and it's rather difficult to import them anyway.
  14. It's probably a fried resistor/capacitor somewhere inside the dash. baccaruda has one for sale in the marketplace, if you can't grab that and you have time on your hands, get an analog dash and the appropriate senders and put that in (I would get an analog dash from a DL donor car if possible, since this is a pain and not worth it unless your daughter absolutely LOVES the car, and the DL has less gadgets to wire in).
  15. Yours has 23 splines. There was no 25-spline axle in '93, since those were only turbos and the EA82 turbo was discontinued (in the US and Canada) in either '90 or '91.
  16. carfreak, mine is for sale. It's got a great body, it's been in Cali most of its life. Shipping would be a bit expensive but I can give you a break on the price if you're willing to buy now.
  17. If you have any head/head gasket issues with it, make sure that you have the heads replaced with OEM or remanufactured Gen III turbo heads. The Gen I and II heads are notorious for cracking and warping...but if it's already got 142K on it chances are you'll be fine and/or it's been taken care of by a previous owner. Mine lasted for 178K, until rust got the better of the body. It's currently being sloowly rebuilt. But it did NOT treat the previous owners well from a reliability standpoint.
  18. Happened on my first Soob, too...but that was crusher-bound in a few more months when it happened, anyway.
  19. moosens has an '86 GL 3-door with sunroof. I believe they were all dealer-installed, though. The 3-doors don't have a long enough roofline for the power-operated sunroofs so as far as I know they came with manually operated flip-ups.
  20. grumble grumble grumble...That dashboard setup is a royal pain to work on. I still have nightmares about my mom's old one. And I do mean a PAIN. Stick with what you've got, and put a dashboard cover over it if it's ugly.
  21. Check the oil and the underside of the oil cap, fill the radiator, run it w/out the cap on and look for bubbles in the coolant, check for any unusual clunking/humming on the highway and when turning, especially from the rear. Check the CV boots like 86subaru said. Drive it a little on the hard side at first to see if the clutch slips (at 155K it's only got about another 20 to 30K left, of gentle driving, if it's original), and watch out for ticking or anything that looks like Marvel or tranny fluid in the oil tank. A fair price is no more than $600, and then only if it has working air. That's for something immaculate, in my opinion.
  22. Mary, I have some tan ones if you're interested. They're a little grubby, but no rips or tears. I believe moosens has black ones, and I know he has a couple of black dashboards, both Stage 1 and Stage 2...give him a try too. It might be nice to do a meet 'n greet someday too--where are you? I'm about 20 minutes south of Springfield, just over the Conn. line.
  23. My guess would be cruise control. My mom had an '82 GLF coupe with every single option the factory offered that year...tomorrow i'll take a look (it's now mine, and sitting in the backyard waiting for me to do something with it). It's also a 3AT, btw.
  24. I HATE EJ25s. Moosens can explain...my '99 Forester got trounced. Twice. In ten minutes. And I was only trying to keep up with him. '88 XT coupe--out of sight '87 GL Turbo wagon--finally caught up with him (Paul) ten miles later '99 Forester--left in the dust. Paul was trying to follow someone that screwed him out of a car and a set of alloys...I was following him back to his shop up I95...and the Forester just didn't have it in it. That's just one more reason why I'm looking into an XT or an RX right now.
