  1. $1300? I thought that's the one you dumped on eBay for a Buy It Now of 1000?
  2. $1300? I thought that's the one you dumped on eBay for a Buy It Now of 1000?
  3. If necessary I can register a couple or three more under my dad's name (at which point I'll need to round up more drivers). Let me know as time passes who we have and how many.
  4. OK, gotcha. I'd just left the lights in the always-up position from when the car was left in Wyoming, so the lights didn't freeze...I guess I never tried to flip the switch back. That alt is about 9 months old, by the way.
  5. He/I/we have rockers from a '75 wagon, but no floor sections that I'm aware of (unless you kept them in your loft, Paul). But anything I can do to help, please remember I have the same car--feel free to send me a PM or email. Andrew
  6. Does this mean you'll actually slow down to the coupe's speed (3AT remember:eek:) or should I start off a day early and the caravan can catch up to me? Any time Oh, fine, moan and groan about the *one* thing I didn't tell you about the car! Nah, the demon's fine, I actually got used to him after a while... And Curt, we'll have to talk about that...sounds like a possibility.
  7. No, the GLF I'm bringing has about 80K miles on it Ah, the memories...you have no idea how happy I am to be rid of that car (and not because of its various quirks). We'll see. I'm not too keen on driving the '75 that far, just because of the hills on I-81. The Justy may yet make it.
  8. OK, I'm registered under the Ultimate Subaru umbrella...3 cars, no campsite ('75 coupe, '73 wagon and '82 GLF) Can't wait to see you all there!
  9. Jim, if you're serious I have one in primer gray that you're welcome to.
  10. I'm definitely in, hopefully with the '75 and something you guys haven't seen yet Matt, can you post how you'd like payment?
  11. Also, that $120 is on the low side, you may have to call around for a couple estimates first. Expect an average around 150 and some north of 200.
  12. +1 on the wheel hub. Dealers around here go between $180 and $240, but 225 would be my absolute limit if I wanted to go to one in the first place. (I got quoted $600 by a dealer that shall remain nameless [but it's the only Subaru dealer in Cheyenne, Wyoming] knowing that I wasn't local and had no place to work on the car. I chanced it and drove home on it, fortunately I didn't need the RWD.)
  13. Yes, both front headrests have up/down/forward/back adjustments on GL-10 seats. And 91Loyale's idea worked for me on a Geo Metro seat once...worst case, a "new" GL10 seat is probably a song from a board member who has one.
  14. Around $120.00 for an independent mechanic, NO MORE THAN $225 from a dealer using a new axle. A remanufactured axle from AutoZone or similar is only about sixty bucks.
  15. However, the insurance I bought from them when I had my '75 shipped did pay for a replacement windshield. I wouldn't skimp on it unless you have full collision on the vehicle being shipped and a way to prove the damages happened after you bought it, if this is a new toy.
  16. As Paul said, Ziebart anti-rust isn't bad. Rusty Jones, on the other hand, stinks...and Connie's car is plastered in it. I have seen one car rusted that badly--a Rusty Jones-ed '88 DL wagon, with a hole about three by six on the driver's side right under the cargo area window. Wish I had a pic...
  17. What a trip. I started off in a 2002 VW Passat with no cruise control (ya, I know, poor me) and an inflatable boat in the back seat that wouldn't let me put the seat back far enough...got to Curt's, drove the Brat maybe a half-mile, went to bed. Left with Curt, ran some errands, started to Tony's in Ruckersville. The aforementioned interestingness with the tranny popping out of fourth worried me slightly but I assumed it was just worn synchros. Got to Tony's, chatted for a bit, started following Curt and his hatch to the DMV. I made it maybe ten miles--not even halfway back to I-81--when the oil light came on. I flashed my lights to Curt to let him know I was pulling over and pulled into the Elkton Exxon--or at least I tried!! I couldn't get the trans out of third at the light, ended up coasting through a red light and jamming it into first. I came to a grinding halt at the far end of the gas station, tried starting it again in first with the clutch to the floor...nothing. Wouldn't push-start or start in gear, clutch off the floor either. The shifter moves fine between gears with the engine off but will not shift from neutral with the engine running, and won't start in ANY gear. It feels like the clutch cable broke, but everything seems to be in fine order externally.Tony said it might be frayed; I think (hope) that's the case, or that it's broken somewhere inside the bellhousing near the pressure plate. Many thanks to Tony, who let me store the Brat at his place; Frank, who let me interrupt his Tuesday evening and take the GL-10 with his plates and insurance still on it; and Curt, who offered me a ride to CT in case all else failed. And if I ever try this again with another vintage 'Ru, someone, please slap me. :-\
  18. Known to me, in addition to these (thanks Paul) Known in the USA,to myself: 2 wagons both in Connecticut (I know of 2 as well..Paul, did you count mine?) 1 2door in Oregon (Paul's sighting) 1 4door also in Oregon (also Paul's) 1 2door that was on eBay a couple years back in Boston, MA 1 4door in Chicago, IL 2 2doors and 1 4door in Pennsylvania. Rotted, unfortunately. So a total of at least 2 wagons, 4 2doors and 3 4doors. Not many, but considering less than 10,000 were sold here 35 years ago... I'll get pics of mine up soon. But it's really not much to look at at the moment.
  19. Again, coupe is already there!!!!!!! The FF-1 is still in Jersey, apparently hasn't been loaded yet, but I was told it would probably make it there by tomorrow AM. We shall see...
  20. I was saying...for mass production cars since the Loyale went out of production, the Justy, the Metro (and siblings) and the BMW Z3 all have tighter turning radii. Nothing else (mass-produced) even comes close.
  21. Isn't it? Tacoma, WA on the FF-1 and Milesburg, PA (!! They might be early!!) on the coupe. Edit: I'm going to keep editing this post so I don't keep altering my post count or bumping this to the top...the FF-1 is still in Vancouver but the coupe is now in Jersey! (11:30PM Tuesday 11/21) FF-1 now in Peoria, IL; coupe still in Jersey (10:15PM Friday 11/24) FF-1 in Gary, IN; coupe still in NJ. (4:55PM Saturday 11/25)
  22. Coupe is in Valparaiso, IN and FF-1 is in Vancouver, WA if anyone wants to have a look...and if anyone cares the tracking nos. are 3175190 (coupe) and 3185774 (FF-1).
