Touche............ currently my funding is pretty limited, but the car im looking at is only $500 or so, being an import and illegal for registraiton. however i am looking at a lot of sponsorship and currently have interest from an all Subaru wreckers, my car club, my dads Fabrication shop, a mates electric engineering shop basically i can do anything as long as i dont have to pay Im going to be looking into the biggest Subaru shop in the state and they might like to give me some money but who knows........ The rules im lookign at running production class which limits things a bit but to me it seems quite open. engine: crank, rods and block must be standard, intercooler (if turboed) must be standard head is free save it has the same number of valves. gear box must be the same housing but internals are free material but must be of a ratio that came from the manufacturer chassis can be mildly modified suspension allows for an extra shocker per wheel, springs are free save they must be the same type. i think this is about it but if youve got any questions put them up and ill go though the rules and see if its allowed
  2. im lookign into sub4 cause they used to be big in england, possible it was another company but somone has a big supply of duel port and (i think) duel cam heads.... also a mod in NZ making EA82 duel cam, duel carb heads. wouldnt mind getting a set for my road car but you need to put water channels in them first
  3. to an extent willson, but the effect is to lift and hold the revs. disabled peoples cars are made to act as a normal throttle, almost like a motorbike. when you take your hand off it spins back and goes to idle. when this device is set it just keeps the revs a little higher than idle so you can crawl or run air equipment or just to warm the car up.

Ok guys if your on some of the other subaru forums you might have seen what im planning to do. but i thought id post here cause there seems to be a lot more racers here.... ok my plan is to build a desert racing car. To run things like the finke in aus, australian safari and on the same principals of dakar and Baja but i doubt ill ever get to run them. my car of choice is a subaru forester. ive made a list of what i want to do and fits in with the rules for my class, production 4WD which limits it a bit but strangly allows what i really want to do. what do you guys think i should do??
  5. its more commonly called a rev throttle, over hear at least. they use it for on board air to keep the compressor spinning fast, or for crawling wit low revs in 1st gear. im yet to do it in my suby but im thinking for the off road car i will
  6. work?? doing what exactly?? the wings do absolutly nothing except create drag or in some cases make air move over the rear screen on a wagon to keep it a little clearer.

  8. ok so not sure if this has been done or said in another thread im looking to build a hydrolich rear diff lock for my subaru l seires. any one designed or though about this??
