It's pretty obvious if it stops working :-p My car is too noise to hear it if I'm going over 15mph, so I don't care..
-
What kind of noise? Just a loud whiiring noise to let you know it's running? If that's the case, they all do this. They're an externally mounted pump and after years of exposure the rubber bushings that isolate it from the body go hard, so all the noise of a noisy externally mounted pump gets sent into the body.

1994 Legacy GT - Repairs & Upgrades, A Build Thread

Fill the engine through the upper hose, connect it. Fill rad, leave cap off then start the engine. If don't do what I did last time I dropped in an engine... leave a coolant temp sensor out and have coolant pissing everywhere... -
Why did you ruin it!?

Factory snorkel? that's awesome! Although, costs about 400 times more than my car is worth... -
What you really have to watch out for is if you stuff your car and jam snow up on the INSIDE of your radiator. I had my fans so full that if they decided to turn on it would have been bad news.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe someone messed with the rear doors in my car at some point. Or maybe I just don't remember it has the wood trim... The car is 1100 miles away with a seized engine.
-
I don't think the rear got the wood trim. I really don't think my limited has it, although, I never ride in the back seat and haven't seen the car for a while.

It's the same plastic crap of which you speak. I always forget to get it as well. To be honest, the Limited designation doesn't really mean anything besides higher registration and probably insurance. I don't have heated seats, mirrors, windshield. But other GT models DID have all those...

I was self-employed doing my own computer repair business for a few years. It was really nice because it was good money and I could arrange my work schedule around what I would rather be doing... The job kind of sucked, but in terms of being able to do whatever I wanted, it was really nice. Tradeoffs oh tradeoffs...

I was unemployed for about a month just a few weeks ago, it was great! It meant I had time to work on my cars and ride my mountain bicycle every day... but then it's not great because your debit card says you have no money left... Then it's time to find a job again. Haha. Looking good though!

I always find it funny people want that stuff, I can't stand it. I just never got around to getting rid of it in my limited...

I've never pulled an auto tranny, but I've pulled the engine on an auto. And pulling the tranny itself can't be too much different than a 5speed. I think what you've been hearing about pulling the transmission is making sure the torque converter doesn't stick with the engine, and installing again to make sure the torque converter is seated all the way before torquing anything down. It's really not a big deal, actually, just requires a bit of attention to detail. The first time I did it the process wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be.
-
Transmission really isn't very hard to swap, but the auto is heavy. Especially if it's your first time doing this type of thing I'd suggest having a friend who knows about cars to help physically move the parts around and get it installed right. The transmission in my 2nd gen legacy has 242k on it and works really nice. So, it'll either blow up in 6k... or yours just had an abnormal problem. But as long as you get one in the low 100k range you should be fine for a while.

Please don't tell me someone purposefully put stupid rear camber on that to make it look like a VW...
