They shouldn't warp after a year. Check that your parking brake isn't dragging. Maybe buy a different brand.
There's no reason to treat your discs, high performance whatever etc with these cars. There just isn't. Get whatever is cheap.
Go on rock auto, get rotors and pads. I got front rotors, pads, and an 02 sensor for about $45. It's all been holding up fine for a while now. And I don't exactly drive easy on my car.
My car has done this for the three years I've owned it.
Is your idle too low? Do you have sufficient voltage from the alt at idle?
Your volt gauge probably bounces a little too.
If you have slop in your steering (tie rods), you should replace those too. Slop up and down can also be ball joints, check that. Really not something you want to fail on you.
That's a really good idea on the wheel. Makes sense, maybe someday I'll give it a try I have an old GL wheel.
I had to customize seat rails to get impreza seats in my GL. Just cut and welded.
Does the EJ wheel just directly bolt up?
Since I doubt it... what mods did you do to make that work?
That's pretty awesome. If I didn't have a grant I'd be putting a leather legacy GT wheel in mine.
Well, if the trans computer can't get a speed signal, how is it supposed to know you're going fast enough to shift into 2nd gear?
Check for trans codes and see if it's complaining about VSS.
It has a 15.9 gallon tank. Until around 2005 all the EJs had a 15.9 gal tank.
The fuel gauge doesn't read very well. After the gauge in my 98 legacy sits on the low peg I can still drive over 100 miles before it starts crapping out on accel...
And even then I can drive enough 7 miles to a gas station. < ask me how I figured that out.... I put 15.8 gallons in it.
Also, look on cars101 at specs if you don't believe me.
