Your Suby Snow Stories Good or Bad
xbeerd replied to The Dude Abides's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No real 'stories' per say. but the other night when it was snowing *(last thursday) i left work WAY late on my way to bowling league, had to put her in 4wd from the turn outta the parking ramp all the way to the bowling alley (10 miles?). i made it there in about the same time as it would have taken me if the roads were dry(combo of city and freeway but mostly city streets)... thats gotta say somethin! our soobs always seem to get us to where we need to go pretty safely. well.. i did manage slide the car around in this large rump roast parking lot, and on my way out of the parking lot , pop the clutch and slide around the fence and back into the parking lot via their OTHER driveway. it was fun. -
wow, if i'd a looked here first, i would have answered both the questions i asked in the pm...

i dont know how it can snow for like 24 hours and the weather people say only 3.5" of accumulation by the airport (near my house). Everywhere else is like 6-12, my wife shovelled when she got home at 9pm, i got home at 11pm and had to shovel a new path to the house, probably 3-4" accumulated in that hour and a half. oh, what i did in my sooby: played in the snow

LOL, i dont think you'd lose your license over it, just a fine for improper registration, drill out the vin's and attach magnets to the back and swap them back and forth! i know he's travelled around the state and the midwest (michigan, indiana etc) for them. he seems to be in the right place at the right time. Mad craigslist skillz!

What kind of gas milage do you get?
xbeerd replied to akc's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
66 @ 2500? is that accurate? Wouldnt your speedo be off with the tire size difference. or do the subaru speed sensors work differently? http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html (need Java) not saying you are full of ************ or anything, just wondering. i cant wait till its warmer out and we get the 'summer' gas back so i can get a real take on my mileage now with the 5spd d/r in it. so far its still getting like 22.5mpg as before with the 3at. :-\ but then again, dumpin the clutch in 4wd in the snow probably doesnt help at all -
holy crap thats clean!

I got annoyed by all those separate files, and for whatever reason the password didnt work so i couldnt merge them all. soi printed the thing out at work. not realizing some of the files were 500 pages long! I ended up with this! still need to create an index page for each section but you get the idea.

Dual Range 5spd connector pin outs?
xbeerd replied to xbeerd's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
in my case, going from 3at to 5sp D/r, no, it was just for the reverse lights that had to be wired up. and that isnt really THAT necessary but its safe to have them working
