  1. do you have a pic of the setup that you got? dunno about attaching it, i'd make a platform or use an old futon frame or soemthing, then make some gutter mounts, here's a diy you could modify for the loyale http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/homebrewed-gutter-mount-roof-rack-345020/ and bolt it to some cross bars.
  2. yeah thats what im gonna do is put the ej22 in and call it a day. im just missing a few parts off of the ej22 (IAC Valve, Ignitor) the engine is from the automatic, there are a few things tho im not sure about as far as the routing of some of the hoses but i got a 95 fsm which i should be able to find that in, can i use the IAC from the ej25d? the napa parts search shows a different iac, but i see a iac other places, that looks like the ej25d iac, that says "90-99 legacy" ?? and ignitor too?
  3. well that solves that question, thanks guys! wish i would have thought to look at the gasket pictures like that.
  4. Can i use my EJ25 Intake manifold on the ej22e? They look the same, cept the ej22 one has an extra hose barb on the manifold i dont know where it goes to. ej25d is from 99 Legacy GT
  5. looks like sedan and wagon might be different. sedan http://opposedforces.com/parts/info/65410AC000/ wagon http://opposedforces.com/parts/info/65410AC100/
  6. So, i have this 99 LGT i picked up for $400 (needs motor, i have an ej22 im putting in), of course the moonroof WAS leaking like they all do, but thats not the point here. i know how to fix that. my question is as far as sourcing a used track. what is the interchangeability between moonroofs in the sedans and wagons of this era (96-99) are the sedan moonroofs different than the wagons? my glass is fine, but the bracket that holds the glass up and moves if front and back is broken on one side. i just want to know if i can look for ALL moonroof'ed cars from this year span (or other years?) for the tracks etc. the glass and motor are fine.
  7. I thought there was one way to do it non-interference. Anycase, not gonna worry bout it.
  8. right on man, Milwaukee Ale House is great, they have recently openned up their own brewery not far from the resturant, Milwaukee Brewing Company is what is called.
  9. you were in milwaukee?? when? what hotel did you stay at? i work in the Hyatt Regency hotel downtown Milwaukee
  10. oh i was just thinking as i dont wanna accidently F my motor that i slapped together, thus, keeping the wife happy. i'm gonna get this ej22 running in the car first, drive it a bit while i fix my ej251 headgaskets in my loyale, then tear into this frankenmotor situation. i like to run naked so losing the belt covers is desirable. but i might just slice the big cover so i can remove it easier if needed.
  11. Ok. So the only way around it would be to get a 96 bloock then? Did I read that right (to obtain non interference motor)
  12. Ok, so i have this 99 Legacy GT that needs headgaskets, i dont know how bad the PO overheated it. i got a 95 ej22e from the yard today for a good price. anyways.. Will the 99 DOHC block with the ej22e heads cause this to be an interference motor? i read in a thread somewhere (and cant find it now) about the pistons making it interference in this case. Can i just swap for other pistons to eliminate the case of interference? is there a Frankenmotor bible somewhere on USMB or somewhere? thanks guys!
  13. hey Jon did you ever start/finish your frankenmotor?
  14. i cant see the comedy of the sticker? what is it?
  15. Hey Scott, you might check into a PlasmaCam table. I looked into it, but im not in a position to have one, money or space wise. i want one tho! http://www.plasmacam.com/indexfla.php wagon->brat/ute conversion sounds cool!
  16. i found a radiator at the JY out of a first gen impreza, had a outward facing hose bung on the bottom rather than upward like the EA82 radiator. i dont know if the ea81 is similar to the ea82 rads tho. but it might be an option. its a single row just like the ea82 radiator im using now with my ej25 swap.
  17. areyou talkin about flexy flares?? http://www.nextag.com/rubber-fender-flare/stores-html
  18. wow, that actually looks pretty good. howd you attach? just rivetd thru the fender?
  19. yeah, i kept the bumpstops on the shocks, just incase i fall off a cliff
  20. yeah got me on that one, i dont have bumpstops anymore, they rusted off a few years ago. however, i think it would take dropping the car off of a cliff for these things to bottom out
