  1. sweet stuff man! i still wish i had a brat. hell, when i was 13 cars was the last thing on my mind. LOL
  2. yeah, and '11 as well. i recall seeing them out at the dyno
  3. oh man! there was commotion too? dang it! how many car showed up? im guessing you and the brat were the only old gen stuff?
  4. or just tell them that you are a student and your car is up at school all year in Dunn county, poorest county in the state, no testing there.
  5. yeah we do, just for 96+ obdII vehicles. but not in the less populated areas, but in all reality its pretty easy to get around in this state:headbang:
  6. really? its got a pigtail spring??? i would have thought tangenital or square ended. hmm, guess i learned something new. weird.
  7. iwonder if it was the inner then, the axle did look pretty damn old. possibly original axle, but it was hard to tell as it was all skanky.
  8. well, i did 2 things yesterday, i swapped the axle out for one with an axle from Tom. and i tighted down the trans mount bolt just a tad, but the engine crossmember was snug as can be and not moving at all. so i would tend to believe that the axle was the culprit, the clunk is not 100% gone, HOWEVER, it happens very rarely. and i DID notice now that my other side has a split wide open cv boot too. (damn it!)
  9. cool, i dont think i'll have time to swap an axle today, so i would love to hear if that fixed it on yours
  10. thanks guys, tryin to remove a weird clunk from the car. hoping that the 1/2" bolts i have in there are shifting and thats why its clunkin, cant get hardware long enough intown (nothing over 100mm!!) so i had to order some bolts. i suppose i could have looked for a 9/16 bolt, but everywhere i stopped, they skipped over it and went from 1/2 to 5/8! grr! oh well. Thanks for the quick responses.
  11. what size are the bolts for the crossmember? i need to go buy some bolts to replace my hardware on my crossmember blocks. dont need to know the length, just the size, like they 14mm? 12? with a fine metric pitch? need to know so i can get out and buy some first thing in the AM before taking my ************ apart. Thanks!
  12. i moan at speed too. LOL. grinds going into 3rd, but i attest that more to the lack of ANY shifter bushing left in the shifter. LOL
  13. id rather not let it ride, since its happening just about everytime i take off from a stop, and i think i may have heard it as im going over a bump, maybe it IS a CV?? but i get no clickin or anything when turning?
  14. could a u joint be makin the clunk, then transferin the vibration to the trans mount? eh, i wouldnt think so i guess. lol
  15. im pretty sure it did it before the lift. maybe its just accentuated with the lift on. the lift blocks on the struts are tight, i know those arent moving around, and i really dont thin it would be the tophat, maybe a trip out to wadsworth tomorrow Tom? LOL. you guys dont think my trans is goin or something do ya?? cuz that'd be lame. is there any way to actually tell, if steeringwise, if the inner tie rods are going bad?
  16. here is the video, i just tightened up my axle nut a little bit, gonna take er for a spin and see if that makes any difference, hell, just trying anything!
  17. changed out my knuckle for one with seemingly better wheel bearings, hub seemed fine so i didnt change that. i do think i have warped rotor now tho. clunk still there. still gonna try to get a video of it.
  18. probably a variable rate spring, seems that most of the springs that are available as replacements are variable rate, atleast that i've looked at. if cutting i usually try to remove from the top and bottom of the spring, seems to have worked for me so far, with my fronts and rears. although with these springs, my car rides like a truck, its pretty fun ride now. still wanna see if i can raise the front another inch or so tho to make it look a little more even.
