  1. Yep, did the swap without a D/L cause auto crapped out before one was available. That said, There are 3 wires coming out of the button on the 5 speed but only 2 from the switch on the auto. Whats the story? How do I make pound this square peg into a round hole?
  2. Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way. I would never have even concidered this swap possible, until I found USMB. Pics on the way, they on film so... ??? soon. Went for a spin today and everything seems great. I still need to wire the backup lights. But, if its drivable, its done to me. Just for fun, I installed push-button starter switch, and feel really cool when firing her up. I still want to do the home made 2" lift. If someone could post a good drawing of the 2" squarebar I need to cut and where I drill the holes, I would be eternaly greatful. Thanks in advance MW
  3. So, I need a little help with the details. I know the score for the most part. I have already spent 2 hours on my back in the drivers seat and have successfuly attached the clutch pedal and manual brake pedal. Whew! I haven't figuired out what to do with the hillholder/cluth return spring. The brake lines on the auto project car seem to be in the way of mounting the hillholder. I have cut the lines on the hillholder and do not plan on using it, but I have another donor car with it intact in case i need too. Also there are a couple of electrical connections on the auto that i wont need(what should i do with them?)and how do i jimmy the neutral start switch to think it is always in neutral. And what about the oil cooler lines??? Plug em, ignore em?? With answers to these three puzzles I plan on wheeling the hell out her this weekend. Then I'll be back next monday for advice on lifts, axle/bearing replacement and "close enough" alignment tips. LOL Thanks everone in advance MW
  4. I lose a bearing about every 5k, but I offroad my loyale. I guess if you do the math they are lasting me 20k give or take:
  5. Thanks True2blue, that was exactly what I was lookin for. Thanks everyone. My $400 project is starting to turn heads, expecially at the OHV park. Pics soon. I'm old school, still shooting with film.
  6. I have a 93 loyale wagon on 14" pugs with 205/75s. I have two overweight labs and a ton of camping gear, so I also have a rubbing problem. I'm planning on doing the homemade 2" lift soon and was wondering what you guys do to stiffen her up abit. I saw a post somewhere about honda front coilover springs that would fit the rear of my wagon, but can't find it anymore. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance. You guys here have helped me love my subie back to life, thanks so much!
  7. oooooooooooooh sorry to see the rust. I was asking about the air dam on the leone/loyale. very cool impreza tho.
  8. Hi Rene, welcome. I'm curious about the air dam on the front of your beautiful suby. Are there more like that around in your salvage yards??? I think I want one. Very cool moped as well. A friend of an old Suby, is a friend of mine, cheers.
  9. Hey Bill, I'm Kinda new to the forum. I noticed you started with an auto tranny. I too need to swap out my 3 speed auto for a d/r. I've got a donor car for parts and a list of what i need. What I am looking for is an estimate on the time required to actually do the swap. I have never pulled an engine, tranny or done any clutch work. To give you an idea of my skill level, I was able to replace both rear shocks, a ball joint and an axle assembly up front in about three hours. I have a good set of hand tools but no impact wrench as of yet. I live in redmond oregon. If you point me to a member in my area that could help, that would be awsome. I have a shop buddy and a weekend, can I do it???

  10. If you give me a # to text a pic to, I can show you my loyale with the 215x75r14 If you really want to see it, shoot me an email to mikewilke77@yahoo
  11. I had 215x75r14s on my loyale with no lift. sorry i dont have any pics. rims are from an 80s puegot, no mod needed I think I could have gone an inch or two bigger but I know those fit with no rubbing, and it really looked great.
