i used lucas stabilizer as 50% in a rod knock motor and ran it another 14 THOUSAND MILES says on the bottle you can use up to 60%. Also in my first legacy, I used it in the motor which smoked at 240k and kept driving it smoke free until just after 250k when the trans went south. that car was a hertz rental in its early life

Your mileage will decrease as your speed goes past 60mph. My wife's legacy with 2.2 gets 26-28 if I drive 60mph to work, but if I drive 80mph, it gets 21. I was late to work today, and had traffic on the way home, so when I wasn't in traffic wasting gas, I was driving 80. Filled up again just today to see what repercussions it had on my tank. 20.68mpg. :-\ One's foot has a huge effect on MPG. and yeah the surf board rack will hurt areodnamics

I know I shouldn't be making a post about this buuuuttt... I cannot find a part number for the duty cycle C solenoid itself. Wife's 96 LSi has TB and putting the FWD fuse in it does NOTHING, doesn't even light up the light. I called subaru, they gave me the part # for the assembly which is $320... I'm in texas and for that price, the wife's car can stay FWD :-\ oh and don't say search button, I tried about 10 different searches I have heard talk in the past that the solenoid is under $50...

2012 impreza? if so, it's GDI and has a high pressure (way higher than the standard 45-60 psi) and could just take a little more time to pressure up when cold. I would document a complaint with the dealer. Subaru can't fix it if they don't know there is a problem. all my old subies crank within 1-2 seconds. chee chee chee roooooooommmmmmblablablablablabla.

JBweld fix
Ricearu replied to edrach's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
jb'd a wallowed out crank key way on a 1.8 impreza. Bought the car with a kajillion miles on it and a loose crank pulley. We got a new crank pulley did the timing belt/waterpump/idlers, filled the void in the crank snout with JB added a little for some extra love and impacted it on with my snap on MG725 LIKE A BOSS. Let it set for a couple days and my buddy drove it like that for a long time! -
I tried it. No. Simple answer. The 92-94 fenders are longer and the marker is set deeper into the fender and different shaped. The whole front is stretched on the facelifted version and has a significantly different core support. I had the whole front end from a turbo SS and know it WONT fit a pre face lift

thanks for the input GD, it makes me feel better I am at the Indianapolis dealer expo now so car work has halted, but I will be right back at it on monday or thursday. And yes, on all 3 auto subies that have had the radiators out, I just cut the hoses and replace them with nice new supple Gates transmission cooler hose. I just wish I could find a source for 10mm hose, not this 3/8" stuff. Good time to replace them anyways, I learned the first time I tried to get bugger break loose, I busted my hands all to hell.

Learned a couple of valuable lessons last night. Lesson one. EJ22 Flexplates are about 1/2 smaller than EJ25's (overall diameter) Found this out THROUGH the tiny bolt "inspection" hole. Lesson Two. Don't leave your engine hoist boom up at about 5 1/2 feef off the ground in the dark. Bent the SHNIZZ out of my glasses and knocked me to the ground. I saw stars. I still have a lump/bruise on my forehead. Im most pissed that I have to pull the engine again...

that is a steal. I bought a 1997 outback knowing that the headgasket was blown for 900. Jump on that sucker and worry about it later EJ22's are solid, if I were you, I would replace the timing belt, water pump, Idlers, water pump elbow (little rubber hose) and any other original rubber hoses on the car and you should be good to go oh and check the pcv valve, and change the valve cover gaskets. I would buy it. I could easily double my money on it

I use gimp and the whole car is dropped, I cut the whole frame in half at the bottom line of the car following the wheel arches, leave the wheels with the lower half of the "picture" and move the body of the car down. It is just something I figured out. Notice the picture is about 1/4 inch shorter after editing If I cannot find a full set with springs and struts, I will let you know texan. The outback struts are longer. WRX struts are 3" shorter than standard legacy struts so who knows the diff for outback struts maybe another 2". I will know once I have a set and go to swap them. I will measure them when I do. gimp is a free image editing tool rugby and is full feature and works on linux, mac, and windows http://www.gimp.org/downloads I like the outback look, and I know there are lego GT's everywhere in the north, but even "L" legacies are kinda scarce down here. I see outbacks daily, but legacy gt's are a pretty rare occurance. Plus I got this gem for 900 with a blown headgasket and am getting rid of my 91 in order to keep it :-\

Yeah yeah, I know flame flame lol. I got a 1997 outback as my new daily driver and I am lowering it with WRX struts/springs. My question is to lower it and be "right", do I need to change the trailing arm brackets and remove the subframe spacers? My answer is yes but don't know what all this entails, like steering shaft length etc. What I am really looking for in an answer is from someone who has first or second hand experience lowering an outback.
