  1. now... to figure out how to make it fit... UNDER!!!
  2. I remember that, only because my first car was a 87 hatch
  3. [quote=grossgary;972821 theimportexperts is probably the USMB's favorite supplier off ebay. ive got 20k on my CNS belts no prob thus far, lots of people use them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/85-94-SUBARU-LOYALE-1800-GL-RX-XT-TIMING-BELT-KIT-EA82-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5d2c4113b3QQitemZ400174420915QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  4. ngk plugs, and ngk/oem wires. the auto parts store wire just don't hold up, they are pretty poor in quality NGK wires are only 42 bucks on http://www.rockauto.com
  5. here in texas, they don't check, I would just use 1 aftermarket universal cat. as long as it has a cat, it should pass. every year I tell the inspector my car is stuck in 4wd, they "two speed idle" test it. where instead of rolling it on a load dyno, they just rev it with the sniffer in the tail pipe and it doesn't sample NOx
  6. did you seafoam through a manifold vacuum line? I have seen many people foul plugs by doing a seafoam.:-\ That could explain your rough idle. I love the treatment, but I will only seafoam if I have a new set of NGK's in my hand.
  7. IT GOT A NEW WINDSHIELD AND A PAPER TAG. Clay is gonna pull the P/S rack and rebuild it tomorrow, also replace the inner tie rods. I will upload pics in the pm tomorrow. Also, this morning, he put 1/2" spacers in the rear struts to correct some of the "wagon sagg" I will be replacing my front wheel bearings and brakes, then bleeding the system, valve cover gaskets, oil change, and maybe soon, HOPEFULLY, I will get around picking up my T-stat from Subaru that I paid for last WEEK, and change it/flush my coolant
  8. The smell isn't any better really, its just you are more confident in the subaru's ability to not break...
  9. nope, subaru's are 4x140 and nobody makes wheels for them. Most redrill import 6 lugs because they are 6x140, even chevy wheels are 6x139.7mm, close enough. 2 studs fit into factory holes in wheels, then drill the other two out. when you mount them up, use the two "tapered seat" lugs to center the wheel up and snug them down real good, and then for the other two lugs, flip them over and flat face them.
  10. Pile O' Parts! Rear Disc conversion FINISHED, actually it is really friggen easy lol
  11. I have that console, $10 plus shipping if you want it. I will take pics when I get home. The motor may have come unplugged, check behind the pillar trim, also if it is trying, try to help it and if it gets stuck again, get it to the normal riding position and unplug the motor until you can replace the track. and yes 1wd trucks suck in the snow. I may be from texas but I used to live in colorado.
  12. my clutch fan locked up, and I was getting 18mpg at full locked fan clutch and sounded like a giant hoover driving down the street, so I ripped it off, the factory electric sucked so I did this they are Hayden 10" E-fans from O'Reilly auto parts, they don't fit with a condenser, I have 1 key on, with optional kill switch (winter), and the other is thermostatically controlled.
  13. MEGASQUIRT IS REALLY EASY AND AWESOME. I am putting a MS-II V 3.0 on my 67 chevy. Its really easy, you need soldering iron, and basic automotive skills, there is a write up on diyautotune.com about them MS2'in a RX, Pretty easy, gained like 12hp or so, and can give you a really easy install. For the low cost of Megasquirt, I will never replace or rebuild a carb again. I will just F.I. the thing.
  14. I got my caliper dust boots in for the rears on my car. I am ITCHING to paint/install these things. Sucks that it is now 45* outside and clear, no good for painting... Damn...
  15. I had to buy a new can to do mine, I used the rest of my old can on a friend's Chrysler conquest, which just happened to be DANG close in paint color, so close nobody could tell that 1/6th of his car was painted with duplicolor, once we buffed it all out lol. Jon, calipers look awesome in crinkle red, very brembo ish lol, brad, those look good too, I like that shade of red.
  16. I bought some supplies, I painted (flat black) my new rear disk backing plates, had the rotors machined (free, they had very little wear or warp, only rust. Bought red caliper paint, ordered all the caliper hardware from rockauto last week along with raybestos orgainic pads front and rear with new front rotors. I am grabbing front wheel bearings from AAA bearing tomorrow... man this thing is gonna be friggen sweet! Now I am just waiting for supplies from rock auto, got 1 box outta 3... that's how i feel about my car, especially with all the gear in back, and winch and lights on mine, I always say Apocalypse. lol latest pic,
  17. im sorry to hear that, people can be so stupid, i am in love with that car. fix it fix it fix it!!!
  18. whoa there killer, I think either you raise or lower it, it is still making it "yours". There is always gonna be purists and flamers that will give you crap about it, but just don't rice it and I think everyone's undees will unbundle once they see it caboobaroo, that is pretty sweet, except for that 5hp racing stripe on the hood j/k I like the drift truck idea, its unibody so it qualifies!!! I run a "coffee can" on my gl wagon, and it sounds friggen sweet! I get double takes from people in WRX's and STI's all the time, once they hear that subaru garble. now, to make an audio clip of my car...
  19. hose it a few times per day, for a few days, with PB blaster, It is your best friend for rust.
  20. usually indicates a tire out of round. when I used to do tires, when balancing, alot of tires are out of round, but that just balances out. the cheaper the tire, the higher the runout tolerance. if they are chinese tires, forget about runout "tolerances", they will sell it if it holds air:eek:
  21. unplug the tps also, should tell the computer to "limp home" then you can plug the tps back in and shoud run a little better. if it runs worse with the tps plugged in, try unplugging it and plugging in the MAF
