I used 1/4 bolts and fuel hose. Don't reuse the old bolts, It took a little WD-40 to shove the bolts into the hose but It shifts better than ever! We did the same trick on my buddy's impreza, but one was huge so I whittled down a spark plug boot to fit the large bushing.

Need budget lift kit. Any pointers?
Ricearu replied to Ricearu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thanks for all the advice, I think I am going to trim, and add 2" lift, and put my mazda redrills on. -
want to raise my car 4" suspension and drop the crossmembers/diff 2". Any CHEAP way of doing this? I am bored to death with stock ride height and kinda strapped for cash. I may go 2" for cost, only to go 4" later. Any suggestions/pics? Also, EA82 wagon, 88 to be exact

You're just lucky your car hasn't rebelled by throwing a random fluid leak fit, or just plain keeling over.:-\ Everyone HERE should know that Mitsubishi is a Japanese curse word

Lucky Chumps! No such thing here in TX.

try shoving the green wire out into the socket while holding the bulb and having a helper push the pedal. Likely a bad socket housing

Help!! Timing belt issues!!!
Ricearu replied to Ricearu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
that is correct. I think the lifters just went down. I ran it for 5-8mins and got it to idle simi-low. I forgot the temp dropped 25 deg today... -
I just replaced the timing belt on the GL, 88 ea82. Driver side tensioner had locked up and shot the belt. I read the gates timing belt install manual (available upon request if anyone wants it) I put the new belts and tensioners on to the T from the book, and it sounded kinda off time when I cranked it. I got it to start, and it leveled out some, Killed it and checked all my marks, and everything is lined up perfectly. The car runs ok ish, sounds kinda funny and idles at 1500 rpms, If it drops below 1500, It peters out unless I give it some gas. My question is... I do go by the center of the 3 close marks on the flywheel correct? All my marks are dead on Could I have collapsed some lifters or damaged something by trying to crank it with the driver side belt broken? could it have something to do with ignition timing. Feel free (please!) to call me at 214-777-3316 because I am going outside to scratch my head a little more at this one.

[quote name=xbeerd;859324} for like $100 they got this BOSS (never heard of it' date=' i don't anticipate it to be THAT good) deck that has a built in iPod dock that pops out of the stereo, kinda cool but not sure on the brand. seems like an off brand, like RockWood (who is actually made by clarion if i am not mistaken)[/quote] they are their own brand. they are cheap but not durabrand cheap. Just DON'T EVER EVER buy their speakers. Those are definitely junk -
I don't know too many spots here, That is at hwy820 and railhead rd, not really worth a drive from dallas for such a short run tho. The only other place I know of is in arlington at 360 and trinity, and I need a lift, tires and welded rear diff to get through that... ITS BRUTAL. Its laid out all over the trinity river with water crossings, DEEP ruts, and PLENTY PLENTY of mud. We would have to schedule a run with some serious off road jeeps/trucks with 4 way lockers . It is a blast, never been in a soobie though:lol:

I bet 10 bucks one of the tires is different size or completely worn. Mine did the exact same thing, and wouldn't come out unless I made a slight right turn. It would hum and then once a while it would chirp a rear tire. Most people will put a oddball tire on the rear. I had 3 185 75 13's and a 1 185 70 13 on driver rear...... Put on a brand new set and VIOLA! No more problems! ****edit: Mine will still wind up and chirp, while hard cornering in 4wd. That is because our cars have diff-lock. Check your tires closely

got er ripped apart just before it started pouring from the heavens today, teeth are stripped off the driver side belt.... got my PCI belts in today though

Ewww. Their rebuilder standards are really REALLY low. I have seen them as far as 1.5" too long (compressed) or 1" too short (compressed). At least they have lifetime warrantee. Known as the "replace it free once a year for the lifetime of the car" warrantee. If I were you, I would return it, and take the 40 bucks, and have your old one rebuilt by a quality axle shop in your area. It will last 15x longer.
