it mean's you're granny shifting not double-clutching like you should be WARNING: DANGER TO INTAKE MANIFOLD if you put an ej22t in your xt6 you'd better bolt down the floorboard a bit better.... and, last but not least, you owe me a 10 second car.

cool pics! now we need MORE!!!
-
leave the old transmission in until you blow it.. then you know for sure you need some more beef

may is when carlisle is... carlisle is the weekend my brother's baby is due.... why don't we do it the weekend of carlisle? or does that not work for everyone

the previous owner of my legacy forgot to tighten down the bolt that holds the crank pulley on... so it was loose enough that when I went to change the timing belt the bolt came out with my fingers rather than a socket... the keyway in the pulley is buggered like the one in this thread... the key was more or less welded to the crank, but was in a teardrop shape.. it came out of the keyway in the crank with some pliers... but the keyway in the crank is the same teardrop shape now............. I put some threadlock on it, torqued her down to about 160-180ft-lbs (over recommended torque.. to say the least) and forgot about it. hasn't come loose yet. I dread the day I have to change a timing belt.. and take that damn pulley off.

actually it's a road... parts are paved parts are dirt parts are gravel, but they don't plow it in the winter and it gets used for a snowmobile trail... we have had a strange winter so it snowed, then thawed, then froze and gave us that

when in may??? and I didn't use to consider myself a hippy, people just started calling me that and I've adopted it  (probably the dreadlocks and herb)

I'd rock it till the body kit fell off

for "light" offroading they're fine. maybe check out what some of the other members on the board have been doing with them???
-
no offense, but I think that looks kinda nasty... would probably look a lot better without that pushbar and with a skidplate on there.... "round off" the corners of the bumper by cutting at a 45 degree angle and welding a plate on the front, and then the end.... and it'll be a bit nicer looking probably... again, just trying to help.. consider this "constructive criticism"... as I don't see anyone else with a big beefy steel bumper on their imp!

I was under the impression that it was FRONT springs from an 87 accord that you use in the REAR of your subaru??

Pulling a dual range & throwing it in an OBS
operose replied to Andyjo's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
ditto. I pulled an xt6 5mt by rolling the car up on it's side with a tractor and putting some 4x4's propped under it... when we backed up the tractor and pulled the 4x4's... the car stayed on it's side. 3 of us had to push REALLY hard to get the car to flop down against the slack in the chain.... just don't be stupid and you'll be fine -
the stump *DID* hurt... busticated my fender.. marker light is dangling.. car pulls to the right now.. we hit it at about 40mph.. but what got the tire is a root that was in the snow.. the stump just got the fender and soobmater, I like the legacy best too thanks for the replies

I saw a '70's coupe saturday night.. gonna try and pick it up -
bump for new pics

I can tell you it would've been handy on the legacy this weekend, if only to use the high-lift to change the tire instead of a bottle jack in the snow... but I'd need lift before I could justify it.... was thinking though if someone had a dedicated offroad rig they could cut out the rockers and replace with stronger stuff

truthfully these cars are pretty safe (even the models without airbags) and I'd take my 91 legacy w/o airbags over one of these new 19million airbag plastic cars any day
-
+1 for no airbags
