sorry I missed it.. looks like a decent turn out, but my xt6 is on blocks in the yard with no brakes! "maybe next year" -

well there's the problem right there..... you're using a fram oil filter (just kidding, but check out this link) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29209&highlight=fram+oil+filter your landlord is never going to like you if she doesn't like oil on her driveway and you keep driving subarus -
woah I've aged a few years since I joined this site

a skidplate, a tougher front bumper, and you'll be ready to rock

I only wave if it looks to be a modified subaru... because then I know that they are at least sort of "down" but the other day I gave what I have found to be the "impreza wave" (based on the nasioc.com forum) to a highly modified wrx the other day... the woman driving appeared to be about 70 years old and seemed to have no idea why I was making a strange hand gesture at her

we bought some property that had an old inline 6cyl with a 4speed tranny behind it that were hooked up stationary as the drive motor for a sawmill. unfortunately the previous owners tore it down and hauled it away before I could get pics

god damn. I'm gonna need your shipping contacts when I get my finances in order. -
How do you remove rounded off exhaust nuts?
operose replied to idosubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
to everyone that says vice grips are too big.... have you tried smaller vise grips? my junkyard xt6 that spent 5 years or so belly pan deep in a mud puddle had exhaust studs that just wouldn't let the nuts come off. it was like the exhaust, the studs, the nuts, and the block had all become one entity. vice grips, pb blaster, and a propane torch and I was in business -

in my experience it is mostly the ones that people don't take care of that end up like this. as an example... I ended up having to drive my xt6 all winter. BUT I WASHED IT AT LEAST EVERY TWO WEEKS. my girlfriend's mom, however, drove her 2005 toyota tundra all winter, and didn't wash it much if at all. which vehicle ended up rusty in the spring? sure as hell wasn't my 1989 northeast-car-all-it's-life-crappy-japanese-made car :-p -

found an easy exhaust manifold bolt fix
operose replied to dragonwingsubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I've done it with 7/16" stainless bolts works fine but I'd use studs if I did it over, as I take my exhaust off a lot, and will probably get some studs in the future -
Any Scuba Divers around here?

sounds awesome! I've wanted to get into it so I can go down to "Hollywood" ... it's a town that they flooded underneat the Carry Reservior in Colton.. check it out man! get an underwater camera and bring me back pics. I can get you to the fat beach on the far side if you need, and it's a good 20mile ride on private dirt roads to get there.. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Carry+Falls+Reservoir,+United+States&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF-8&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=47.483365,82.265625&hl=en&z=13&ll=44.400785,-74.740455&spn=0.084258,0.160675&t=h&om=1 that's the place, the beach I'm talking about is on the right hand side (it's all that white stuff ) -
Camo non-lifted Hatch in Potsdam the other day?
operose replied to Andyjo's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I've talked to the guy a few times... he used to deliver chinese for A-1 kitchen. doesn't really seem to care much about the subaru but said it'll go like hell and he used to have some brats. didn't seem too keen on talking when I chatted him up one day -
summer mode ^^^ (last summer, just put these shoes back on last week) winter mode vvvvvvvvv
-
I have no idea how you guys equated "air conditioning" to what you're talking about, but I'll go with it I can't stand it when I've gotta hide the a/c the xt6 has some good spots but the new toyota pickup doesn't :-\ just drive safe and all is well, the cops hopefully won't want to bug you
-
you bet man. the last time I went out there was the funniest, because the guy I went with had never been out of Upstate NY if you do go to boulder, there are some great short hikes just outside of town that we did when we went, but I can't remember any trail names or anything. just google "hiking in boulder" or something

by any chance was your transmission mount broken before this happened? the tranny mounts are two pieces of metal with rubber sandwhiched in between and glued. the rubber seems to come unglued. I've had this trash three or four u-joints
-
does Rocky have an automatic transmission? I can't remember if so, maybe I should just buy the damn car from you  I was going to buy my girlfriend an xt6 around this time last year but she wanted an automatic

Sad news for 5 lug swap peices...
operose replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I don't like your definition of the northeast there are a few xt6's running around CT/NJ, and I have bought 2 here in NY, and 1 in PA. there are craploads in VT, and a few left driving around in PA. you need to come to the REAL northeast, I guess edit: I guess you said east coast. sorry. come up here -
just ran across this ... interesting ... brat on marlincrawler.com and figured I'd post it over here for you guys to ponder edit: you want the link eh? http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=31186.0
