  1. I was flipping through one of my brother's jeep parts catalogs last night, and I saw a roof rack, that unhooked from the front supports, and flipped over backwards on hinges, to create a "roof" behind the jeep... might wanna look into making something like that
  2. '92 legacy GR-2's with legacy wagon springs on front XT6 GR-2's with stock xt springs on rear that's what his thread on xt6.net says... not sure if the "stock xt springs on rear" is the stock xt6 springs, or actual XT springs
  3. I'm thinking maybe qman's setup for winter (we get deep snow here) and the struts/springs that are on it now for summer
  4. there is one place here that reportedly has tons of soobs... but they have such a bad reputation I haven't bothered checking it out yet. I can get in touch with a guy that works there and see if he could get an inventory list
  5. I plan on lifting my xt6 up to about where Qman's is I think.. they do well offroad stock so at that height it should be GNARLY
  6. will most definately do that.. I've never seen a lifted soob in person (so sue me, we're in the NE)
  7. what kinda road signs you got in them parts? ours are thick and heavy as hell
  8. derrick in potsdam new york with tons of xt6 parts, an actual non-rusted xt6 (!!!) and a '91 legacy wagon......... you're pretty damn close to me Ryan.. that's cool we definately need to get more NY stuff going (guess I need to get my cars going) <edit> WOAH Ryan's in Port Henry.... my girlfriend's sister just moved to Essex and we go down there quite often.. we'll have to hookup sometime while the women are out shopping in burlington
  9. I'll bring the built-up xt6 if this is something ya'll are seriously planning for a coming summer... winter wouldnt' be good for me though
  10. my old girlfriend doesn't call me anymore.... couldn't be happier!
  11. I'm gonna build a gnarly skid plate for my xt6... partially so it will slide over the snow better this winter when I'm in the deep stuff
  12. I will say, that if the previous owner of your car did the same thing as the previous owner of my car, you might be a little bit angry........ the PO of my car replaced _SOMETHING_ he didn't even remember what, but it required removal of crank pulley. anyway, I later found out that he had not tightened the bolt down that holds the crank pulley on, and it had been spinning loose..... wwwellllllll..... inside the round inner hold of this pulley is a square "keyway." there is also a square "keyway" in the end of your crank. if the crank pulley is not properly torqued down, it can "wobble" as you say, and cause the square metal key in this keyway to... well... wear out the metal in the keyway, allowing your crank pulley to merely slip around on the crankshaft. this is bad. if it fails you'll lose alternator (charging) water pump (cooling) a/c (cooling!) and maybe even some other stuff like power steering and whathaveyou.... I would most definately suggest getting it fixed ASAP
  13. too tight? have you taken it apart to see what failed yet?
  14. bad tensioner? did you forget to tighten something? 30 mile failure leads me to believe there was something done incorrectly on the installation........ not that I doubt your capabilities... just a thought
  15. guess I'll have to make a lift... $700 + cost of forester/outback struts/springs is not only over budget, it's about what I paid for the whole car
  16. just get the $10 cheaper NGK plugs...... always worked fine for everybody else
  17. if you take paypal, get back to me before I'm done with work in an hour and you'll have $10 more today
  18. some guy over on the legacycentral board put bmw lights in his 1st gen legacy.. I thought it was ugly, but i figured I'd let you know
  19. second the legacy lift pics... I have no money for a kit but would appreciate pics
  20. ah! beg to differ on the vintage quattro not lasting forever I'm driving a 1988 Audi 80 quattro.... with 220k on the clock... still running strong. damn thing is way faster than my '88 xt6 FWD auto (of course) oh it gets really good mileage too... like 30mpg with my crazy lead foot getting it up to 5500RPM before shifting and cornering so hard the temp sensor malfunctions
  21. sounds good to me if they're in good shape... those suckers seem to be getting harder and more expensive to find for you poor 4-lug guys
