hmmm... I'm trying to get better seats for my legacy, was thinking about xt6 seats! does that mean someone would buy my legacy seats off me maybe, if they're that much better than ea8X seats?

I plan on taking my '90 (or is it '91?) legacy wagon from here (the extreme top of new york state) to san francisco california and then a whole ************load of other places (maybe visit relatives in alaska?) the only thing I need to do to prepare besides getting the car in tip-top shape which I have plenty of time for, is graduate high-school and quit my ************ty job. then it's on the road time. not sure if my gf is coming with me or not because her mom relies on her to work at the family business most of the time, but it'll be great!! I've been looking for the best route to take for a while now, and I just need to find a way that takes me near people I've met here, on xt6.net, on legacycentral.org and a whole slew of other people I've met on the internet that are spread-eagled across the country ps. I can't wait

wasn't there a problem the ea82t dudes were having with the copper gaskets? or was that head studs? my memory is so poor.... -

How much rust before a Subaru is unsafe?
operose replied to sidekickin's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
my dad's friend drove soob's religiously until one of them literally broke apart while he was driving down the road... now he's a vw/saab guy :-\ -
crap, didn't expect anyone to go for it! :-p I'll look around see if there's anyplace coooooool.... up around where I am there are about a million miles of crazy backroads and stuff if that's what you're looking for... I dunno, need some suggestions on what the spot would need... there's some good stuff in the adirondacks, etc.... lemme know

it's odd that junkyards and parts suppliers alike don't understand the fact that part of the attraction to subarus is the price... and if they keep charging insane prices for parts, well, PEOPLE WILL GO ELSEWHERE.........

I had a bit of time before picking up my gf yesterday, so I stopped at the local dealership. asked the guy if he had timing belts in stock for an ej22. this is a chevy/subaru dealer btw. guy says "what's an ej22?" so I told him that it is the engine code for the 2.2l 4cyl engine in my legacy, and he asks for the vin number... me: "no thanks, you've more than answered my question" this probably belongs somewhere else, but I'm old gen at heart

Are XT6 Rear Axles Different/Special ?
operose replied to MorganM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
fronts might have a different spline count... don't remember. I do remember reading about it in a post around here somewhere though... and on the LSD in XT6 comment... very few xt6's are equipped with an LSD, most of the people over at xt6.net have never even seen one -
in some of the pics there are bead locks

high school earth science (or that simpson's episode where they go to aus. and bart flushes the toilet) pays off again! -
I would like to continue the synthetic vs. dino oil debate. if you think synthetic makes your car leak more oil, you're WRONG. plain and simple. the car needs new seals, not different oil

HOLY CRAP! your sister is NORTH of watertown? I live in potsdam (almost on the canadian border) and have never met anyone on the board or anyone on the board who claims to have met someone from this far north. what a trip

theoretically, you could hook it to an air compressor outlet hose on one side, and put a pressure gauge on the other side to see how much it's letting through?

I like to break stuff, but $10 a blow to beat up a car that is kinda rare..... that's not for me
