Thanks a lot! It's settled then.

I believe that any Gen 2 Subaru (82 - 86?) will work, you might want to look around some of the wrecking yards and find some old wagons. Most of those early wagons and Brats were roughly the same. I hope this helps

I am going to replace the engine in my Brat tat's getting lifted, and I was wondering if the best time to install the lift was before during or after I get the engine in. I am going with a straight ea81 swap, nothing special. Thanks for the help

Never mind. I got it out of my wagon and if it's as easy to put back in, then I'm good. Thanks

I just got an 82 Subaru Brat, and the previous owner has taken the third eye out and has replaced it with a standard front grill. My question is, if I have a third eye on another wagon, how easy would it be to install on the brat? Is it bolt on, or is there extensive work involved? I am no mechanic by any means, but it doesn't SEEM too hard to switch out. The brat and the wagon are the same year, so I'm sure they would switch. The Brat has the wiring and the knob inside to turn it on, so it had to have it at some time. Thanks for the help.

Sometimes I feel I'm being ignored.

You know what would be a great idea? Fiberglass Rear wheel wells for Brats. I have a couple Brats with some serious cancer in the wells and I think replacements would be in popular demand. -

I would be interested in a custom hood and some off road fenders. I don't think your prices are that high either considering how rare some of these subaru parts are to find these days. -
I am also going alone in my car I believe, but will also be traveling in a caravan with Brian and the others, so I also voted 1 for now.

That's gonna look so funny with a convoy of subes rolling up there. I think we should ride by type ie. brats all together, legacy's together etc. to make it even funnier for all the other passersby, if we don't own the highways that is.

I have a ps2 that I could bring. I don't have a tv that would work, or GT3, but I have a couple of extra controllers as well that I could bring. I can also bring my notebook computer with a whole bunch of nes, snes, sega, GB, and game gear games on it. I can also play playstation games on it as well if someone wants to bring a few games. I also have some paintball guns that I could bring, if anyone is interested in playing around with them.

WCSS6 CARAVAN? LA to Hood River

I'll probably end up driving my Black 81 Brat. I want to pick up a cb radio for my brat, so maybe I'll swing by and get one. -

Jeremy - I can leave whenever. Whatever time everyone else is leaving is cool with me. I'm up for anything. -

I'm down with that. I don't think I'll have my lifted Brat done in time though. It won't be done to my specifications, so I think I'll drive my Black 81 Brat up there. -
YIKES! That's awesome. And 138mph? that's crazy! It's got a thumbs up from me!

I was planning on taking a week off, so maybe I'll travel up with you guys and hang out for a day or two and then come back a couple of days after you. Maybe, but we'll see. I'm definitely looking forward to this! -
brat seats/headroom vs topper... & axles
Jibs replied to baccaruda's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have both a Gen 1 topper which starts to rise where the sun roof would normally be and a Gen 2 topper which begins to rise from the rear of the cab. Here's a link to my gallery to see the difference: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=3967 -
What kind of Gas Mileage do you get?
Jibs replied to SubieNewbie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah, on my 83, I get roughlty 26-28 miles to a gallon, on some of my others its a bit lower. -
According to my speedo, I've had my stock Brat at 85 a few times before. It likes it I think sometimes, as I only realize it as I'm passing people and going, "why is everyone going so slow? Oh, wait!! Dang!"

Thanks, I didn't know what series engine was in a baja, and I did a search for "baja engine", but not too much came up. Jeremy - was it hard to swap everything in cause it seemed tough to get all the wiring done. If it's not too bad, I might seriously have to consider it cause that Brat I am getting needs a new engine. Did you do the work yourself? GD - It would look totally funny if I rolled around on 20's! Maybe I've created a monster, as I have already started on the 6 lug conversion, I might give it a try sometime. Thanks again!

Would it be possible to fit a baja engine into a Brat? Pros and cons? Just wondering. Also, if you had a lifted Sube, would it be possible to run 20 inch rims with the low profile racing tires? I get a visual everytime I think of it, and was wondering. Thanks a lot.

Sweet! I love Brats!

I talked to Jeremy (subieman) the other day and he might be going up there that Friday. I don't know whats the easiest way up there, I'll end up following somebody who knows the route better. Eh, I'm a follower! -

I am trying to get my Brat ready for the meet, and will probably run up 395 with some others. -
Would I want to look into getting a Transfer Case to run 28x8.5 tires with a 4" BYB lift? My engine would probably be stock, but I am looking to go to a weber carb and better exhaust soon.
