I was going to do the 6 lug conversion to my brat and have purchased a set of 14" 6 lug wheels from Summit racing, but I go to the local junkyard today and luckily enough, pick up a set of 15" Pug alloys. Which should I put on the Brat with a 4/3 ozified lift? Would I still have to cut the fenders with the 14" rims? How bout the Pugs? I am baffled at these turn of events right about now.

EA82 Unhatched spotted in NV

I don't know who it was. Wasn't me though. -
Hey peeps! I snagged a half set of PUG's there today! I dropped by to see if anything new came in and I was just about to leave when I walked behind this car and I noticed it was a 505 Turbo. I thought to myself, naww, couldn't be a peugeot... then I looked and it was! I checked the rims and they were all there! All of them! I grabbed the two off the back, but couldn't get the ones off the front because the thing kept spinnin. I even got the original lugs and two center caps on the back! I am amazed, and might get back there tomorrow to get the other two.

would it be possible to put a gull wing door kit onto a brat? I've been looking around and they make bolt on kits for other kits. I emailed one company, but they said they had to custom build a kit for lots and lots of money! I would also think that you would have to cut a little off the fenders because of how the door opens normally, it kind of hinges behind part of the fender. Wouldn't that be way cool though?

It seemed pretty nice. Nice enough to notice... especially in a 78. I was marveled that it was in such good condition. I'll talk to these guys who are going, and they should help out as well.

Don't woory I grabbed a few extra. And as I recall, It DID still have a back bumper, and there was carpet that was pretty nice throughout. I'm not sure about the back part though, I didn't pay too much attention.

No prob guys. When I was at PNP yesterday, I took a sweet shifter knob and some of the door handle mouldings from a 77 or 78 Soobie wagon that was there. It seemed that most of the others were newer though. I always need new stuff for my soobs. I also have to work on saturday, but I might be able to get it off, as they will be changing my schedule because of school. I might be able to connive them out of a saturday. I definitely think that we should at least try to hook up, that would be way cool. Let's just set up a time. Hey - on the subject of work, if anyone needs any plants or flowers or trees for mothers day - I work at G&G Nursery. Corner of Rock and Freeport across from Baldini's. I can get pretty good deals. I am there today and all weekend, I get Tuesdays and Thursdays off. Ask for JB if you happen by.

While at the local junkyard, I spotted a set of Enkie's that were painted/powdercoated red. I was wondering how rare these were. I also spotted a couple sets of the H type wheels as well. I hadn't seen any besides these, so I was wondering if I should pick them up for later. Does anyone need a set of either? I could pick them up.

I am sending in my money order tomorrow for a BYB lift, but I have to state whether my 82 Brat has power steering or not. I don't recall seeing it there, but do all Brats have power steering? If mine does as well, I am not sure that it works. Does it matter if it works when I tell them, or do I just have to state that I have one? It's in the shop now, so I can't run out there and see. Thanks guys.

I hope I can patent this one AND hope that its not used, but I want BRATMBL on mine. Either that or BEE-RAT. With a black/Yellow paint job that last one would completely Funny!

Wheel Backspace What will or wont work?
Jibs replied to subaru420's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
What kind of backspace should I look for when converting to 6 lug and getting a 4 Inch lift? I am trying to go for a 14" rim with the Super Swamper SSR tire. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot. Also, what is the end bolt pattern after converting to 6 lug? -
I have another question. What kind of skidplate fits on the brat? I am looking for to put a nice one on there, but was wondering what would work. Thanks.
-
That's a sweet bumper! What size superwinch are you running on it? I was thinking of going with the S3000 or S3500 myself, but I want to check with others first.

What kind of console can I fit between the seats that can fit the emergency brake, but will give me an extra feature like drink holders, or a change holder? Is there such a thing that will fit? Thanks a lot.

I would check all the local wrecking yards, check with mechanics, and other car places in your area in case they still have them. They might be able to help in determining who sold them or anything. Thats what I did when my grandpa's old studebaker got stolen, we got it back though.

I am thinking of doing the conversion to 6 lug if I can't find any pugs soon, but I have a few questions. How strong are the drums after being drilled? I like to go 4 wheeling, and am afraid of the drum breaking or bending or something. Second, If I take the drums to a machine shop to get re-drilled, do I just tell them that I want to be able to fit a 6 lug rim on there or how do I go about that? And last, roughly, what would this cost? (any reasonable guess is appreciated.) Thanks a lot for the help.

Some new stuff on SubaruBrat.com
Jibs replied to subarubrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thanks a lot. I seriously think your brat is way cool. It's the only car I have and will ever drive. I love to see other people who enjoy them as much as I do. Again, thanks for the account. -
Northern Nevada Subaru Meet
Jibs replied to subieman's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Oh, don't worry about it, one of my friends is taking a welding class and needed a semester project, so I donated my car. I needed part of my front bumper welded back together, along with fixing my rollbar, and welding the seat frame into the back. So don't worry about it. Thanks a lot for the effort though, I appreciate it. -

Hey, if you still have one, I'd like to get in on that. Let me know how to set it up. Thanks By the way, Your Brat is AWESOME! When I first saw it, I almost crapped my pants. -
I feel your pain as well, I was telling some others here that a local wrecking yard, they crushed 3 Brats, and many other wagons, all with some parts that were pretty nice. I am so sad now.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the help. Don't worry greggbrat, I am just trying to find some around town. Maybe I'll roadtrip down to Sacramento one of these days and see if I can find some easier there. Again, I thank yous guys!

So 27 Inch tires fit the 14 inch rims? Forgive me, I don't know ANYTHING about cars.

I am getting a 4" lift on my brat soon, but I am trying to get some ideas on tires for it. My question is what size Pugs should I try to get for the brat? What is the most aggressive tread for the 14's that I could get? I was thinking about the Mickey Thompson Baja Belted, but will these only work for the 15" Tires? Thanks a bunch and I amsorry that this question is asked so many times.
