  1. Good thing I checked this before I opened the box...The only issue with this I see is is it worth the 90 bucks more? And it's still just a bolt on, no modification needed right? And that would make the flywheel a 115 tooth one btw
  2. Well my brat is coming along, have the carb all torn out and in the process of rebuilding. Doesn't seem all that complicated as I've been constantly looking over the diagrams. But also am in need of a new clutch. So I ordered one from Kragen, will be here tomorrow. A Sachs kit for 99 bucks and has all the bearings and alignment tool! But I do not know the shape of my flywheel yet as I want to finish one project before I move onto another, I was thinking about ordering a new one, as it is only $60... The question I have is they have two listed, a 115 tooth and a 105 tooth one. Which one do I have? I already have a rusted up core to give them to cover that charge so I don't have to drop the tranny just yet... Btw its an 81 Brat with EA81 and stock 4sp
  3. Yes, very true. If i'm going to fix it, might as well do it right the first time. I'll take a look at it more tomorrow and see what I can find out. It's either that, yes the coil is in specs but still bad, the igniter box or whatever you call it is toast, or the tach... Hopefully it's nothing to serious as I don't have much money left to spend to get the brat road worthy...
  4. Thanks for the tip. Yea yesterday I ended up trying that. Disconnected the wire and low and behold the fuse didn't blow. When i had what would've been that ignition wire +12v wired straight from the battery the motor ran fine (won't idle) and the fuse didn't even get hot. So I already plan on installing a few relays and 'hidden' switches. But as far as the carb rebuild goes, its nasty and just clogged with grease all around it. The choke is way messed up and need to just clean it out and if it is really broken, just get a j/y one and rebuild that. The car will die if I don't have my foot on the gas and the throttle cable is already wacked haha. just gotta keep at the little projects that keep popping up!
  5. Thanks for the help everyone, but I figured it out. Carb just needs a good rebuild...the throttle cable is all messed up and so is the automatic choke. But after that gets cleaned up, all should be cool beans!
  6. Found out it was the ignition wire to the coil. Just required to much I guess. hooked it up to a relay and all it good as far as the fuse blowing. But the motor still dies after about a minute...
  7. Well i really appreciate everything this forum has provided as it got my brat running! Runs great just needs to be timed and should be great. however it won't stay alive long enough to get warmed up to time it. The issue I have is the ignition fuse. I have a 15A in it, and it will start right up. however after about a min or so...you can see the fuse burning up then pow fuse gone...and the car stumbles and dies... I have been looking at the wiring diagrams, check for shorts, and just don't see what could keep causing this. And for reference this is the fuse with black to blue-white wire, that comes from the ignition switch. Everything else seems good, anyone have any pointers? Btw it a 81' Brat GL EA81 with hitachi coil and disty... Just also found out, doesn't even matter if the car is running. If the switch is on then the fuse blows shortly there-after. Must be a short somewhere, but I'm lost as to where to start looking...
  8. I need almost all driver's side lights: taillight, front corner light, and front side marker...Both brats I bought to make one, were either smashed or missing... I know there is some other parts I need but can't quite remember right now. I would definitely like the jumpseats but don't have enough money for those I'm sure...Just let me know some prices! Thanks -Brian
  9. Looks like a nice find, but I don't see it being that believable. They also have listed, for example, a reliant robin, mclaren f1, Koenigsegg CC 8S etc etc. Now who honestly has parts for all those cars? But that'd be awesome if they did have an old FF1!
