  1. Use the forum search. Both here and the "off road" section. There are numerous spring combinations that people have used. Dan
  2. That would be from an 85 to 89 EA82 GL of some variety. I ordered the bushings for my wagon from the dealership a while back, but I don't remember the part numbers off the top of my head. Dan
  3. I doubt it would hurt fuel economy, but it could greatly reduce your lifespan. Unless you're driving with your window open, you need to get that addressed. Dan
  4. Whereas this is certainly a viable option, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's "easier." Dan
  5. I run two inch stainless with a Magnaflow muffler on all of mine. Sounds good, and it will be the last exhaust you put on the car. Dan
  6. The early model Trooper wheels look pretty good. I found some 14 inch six lug wagon wheels off of an early model Dodge D50 that look really good too. Dan
  7. Look up Jerry, member name "bratsrus1." He makes a kit out of a combination of mounts. You will probably have to locate your own mounts to send him, he didn't have any last time I inquired. Dan
  8. I've had custom stainless exhaust made for both my hatch and my wagon. Pricey initially, but you'll never have to worry about the exhaust again. (When I say pricey, only slightly more expensive than the "50 state" option referenced above.) If that shop can't or won't make something for you, carry it somewhere that will. Bearings are easy, and rust is only terminal if it's on the subframe (unless you know a really good welder.) At any rate, don't junk it. There are enough of us on the east coast that need and want parts and would gladly take it off your hands. Dan
  9. Felpro MS91075 is what I used if I remember correctly. And I used it on both an EA81, and an EA82 with no issues so far. Dan
  10. Ford Escort seats will also work (not sure what that translates to Down Under,) with the GT variety being a great improvement. Dan
  11. PM me your email, and I'll get some pictures for you. I can't/ won't post pictures on here anymore. Dan
  12. Funny this should come up. I was chasing what I thought was a running warm situation in my wagon. Replaced the thermostat, thermoswitch, relay for the fans (aftermarket conversion)....... the usual suspects. I was standing in front with the hood up, as the gauge kept climbing towards the red, but the fans were kicking on......... and OFF. Hmmmmm....... enter trusty point and shoot thermometer, and 186* was the highest I could find anywhere coolant related. Used a different sending unit from my parts wagon and it rides right in the middle in all driving conditions, and only slightly above with the A/C on. Sometimes it IS the simple things. Dan
  13. You can also gut it (remove the spring and pin) with nominal ill effects. Even if only as a short term measure to determine if that is indeed your issue. Dan
  14. I always cross reference part numbers and have yet to get the wrong part. There are some things that I have only been able to source from RA. Dan
  15. I had 195/75/14s on my EA81 hatch and they rubbed at full lock. I replaced them with 195/70/14s when the other set wore out (they didn't rub enough to warrant changing them beforehand,) and now I have zero contact. Dan
  16. I suppose "rent a truck and tow your car" is going to fall on deaf ears? Dan
  17. Get a beverage and start reading here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/128105-offcial-6-lug-re-drill-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1087335 Dan On edit: I was a minute slow.......lol
  18. Update part 2: Passenger side has just let go in spectacular fashion. Found FEQ makes new ones. Just got one, and it is well put together out of the box. I'll keep all updated as to how this works out. Dan
  19. I'm running those rims on my wagon with 195/60/15s with zero issues. Dan
  20. The Nissan swap is easy, and well worth the effort, even if you aren't running a bunch of extra stuff. I did it on my hatch when the alternator went south, liked it so much I did it on my wagon when I did the electric fan swap. Plenty of info here, so I won't bore you with all of that. Dan
  21. Here's a recent thread on the subject: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/154613-got-bored-built-a-rear-bumper/ Probably one of the cleanest looking I've seen. Dan
  22. 2 inch stainless from the cat back, and a stainless Magnaflow muffler will work well, and outlast the car. I'm running it on all three of mine and love it. You can still hear it when you romp on it, but it's not obnoxious at all, and fairly quiet while cruising. Dan
  23. Thank you brother, I'll see if I can get in touch with them. The coupe still puts a smile on my face every time I turn the key. :-) It's the only one in my fleet I don't have to work on..........lol Dan
