  1. well, its not like i did all of that overnight.... took about 6-7 weeks, i've been motivated though.... obsesive compulsive behavior and alot of turnin wrenches and fab work....
  2. so, as far as rebuilding these units goes, clutches etc. what is required? springs? clutches? and are these parts easily obtainable? i think i have a line on one and would have to convert it to 3.9 which doesnt scare me, i just wanna make sure its in good functioning condition.... any particular way to inspect condition and or test it out of the car?
  3. lifted my loyale 6", installed a d/r trans, drilled some yota wheels, added rear disc, installed a decent jukebox, replaced one axle and one ball joint (will do the other side later this week) finished fabbin up a subframe?! for lack of better words i guess. reinforced/lengthened the tiebars 1.5":brow: oh ya, and did a 2.2 swap! welded up a 3.9 diff (not installed tho?!?! dont really wanna break stuff yet!), ummm think thats bout it for lately.... more to come soon tho! bumpers and lights and racks oh my!
  4. sounds like fun, i may be able to make it! i know the 08xt should fit in allright, what about the lifted loyale tho?!?!
  5. and now finally! im finding the info that im asking.... see, a little more diggin around and i wouldnt hav had to ask this at all.......
  6. thanks, the short answer is kinda what i was lookin for. im pretty happy with the 3.90, the 2.2 does alot better than the 1.8 carb did. went out today offroad for the first time since the swap and it was sweet! i think i want to get a lsd out of a turbo and change it to 3.90 as well. kinda aprehensive about puttin in the welded one, not sure how axles/output shafts will hold up. thanks tho
  7. i have tried to read old threads to see if this is possible but just got kinda confused.... ist it posible to take the 4.11 diff out of a legacy 5speed tranny and put it into a gl tranny that currently has 3.90 gears in it? i have both trannys in my shop and was wondering if this would work to help me turn the 29s a little easier... thanks, spencer
  8. hi i'm spencer, glad to join this site in hopes of hookin up with people with similar interests and to b.s. bout soobstuff! first off, i've had probly bout 10-15 subarus ranging from 1980 to 2008. currently i own an 08 outback xt which is way sweet but not my favorite, also i have a 92 legacy, also not my favorite. my favorite is my 90 loyale! with some help from my fab crazy cousin we have lifted it 6 inches, also i installed a d/r tranny, rear disc brakes, and a 94 2.2! this ride is totally sweet. the lift is wayyyyy tougher than anything i've seen for sale online, but yet is not too much. it is built correctly and handles very good, both on and offroad. hope to have some pics up soon. i would like to know which forums would best be related to my interests and also possibly to hook up with other folks from swwa and nwor who also have modified soobs and would like to do some offroading. thanks
