UPDATE: Group buy on door weatherstrip
Is anything still going on with this? I need 40-50 feet of the stuff for my FF-1, sooner the better.

Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
Some test fitting done today, along with a few installed parts. The fenders and grill and such are not installed permanently, however the trunk is done:

Thats the plan, one step ahead of you on that one I don't plan on touching it for a couple weeks to make sure the paint is nice and solid before I start doing anything. It still smells like fresh paint too, the garage is quite toxic now, LOL!

The 74 sedan thread.....................
The 5-speed has a 3.7 final gear ratio, and 5th gear is .789, so its .1 taller than the 80's 4-speeds, so it will have a lower RPM at high speeds (IE better mileage)

I'll get more photos of the fenders/valence/trunk etc. later probably next weekend, and push it outside for better lighting too.

Photos from picking up the car today. Sorry, nothing of it getting loaded/unloaded, I had my camera buried by a fender!

The 74 sedan thread.....................
Ya, the rest of the case is the same minus the rear. I'm sure the rear transmission mount will bolt up differently, and the shifting mechanism will be different. I'll try and look into it more this weekend, get some service manual photos posted perhaps, but right now i'm working on uploading more FF-1 pics from picking up the car today Oh, and the gen-1 5-speeds were in the mid 70's coupes and hardtops I believe, I'll have to confirm that too.

Almost! BTW, I'm thinking of having some sort of "open house" next weekend (not this weekend) if anyone nearby wants to stop by to see the paint job.

The 74 sedan thread.....................
I didn't do the 5-speeds, I'd have to bust out the books again and make another chart. What years were they in, the 5-speed FWD cars?
-
for all you ea71 fans
Ya, awesome vid, saw it on the JNC site one day

The 74 sedan thread.....................
Ya, that top speed thing is why I swapped early 80's FWD gearing into my FF-1 transmission. Those transmissions have MUCH taller gearing:

At long last... ITS PAINTED!!! The paint hasn't even been polished/etc. yet! It looks fantastic! Picking it up Saturday!

EJ Off Road Bumpers anyone??? * * * Done Post 28 * * *
Airbags should probably be disabled for slow speed offroading anyway. You can pull the fuse, or even install a switch.

NEW options for REAR shocks! STILL looking for FRONT inserts!
They don't have a bracket connection, just the circle connection on the bottom and the top of the strut on the top, right?
-
NEW options for REAR shocks! STILL looking for FRONT inserts!
IIRC, the Brat has a different mounting style than the rest of the models. Is this correct?

The 74 sedan thread.....................
Well matching coolant channels isn't a "little" work in my book, but yes it can be done.
-
The 74 sedan thread.....................
Fair warning - the coolant channels don't like up on the 4-ports with the EA71 block.
