  1. Used the 3M adhesive, works good I think (still needs to dry). So I installed the frame into the door and have one small issue... Apparently the door seal is too thick cause the door won't close all the way with the frame installed I guess I need a thinner bulb or something?
  2. I actually have some of that, works pretty well, but its pretty thick.
  3. Just got the window channel felt finally, and cut it to the correct dimensions for the frame and even test fit it. It doesn't fit 100%, but I tested it with the window in place and it slides nicely. However, I do need to get some sort of adhesive to stick it on properly so it doesn't shift. What should I use for this?
  4. Great read! Read the whole thing Makes me want a GSR so bad... Its also interesting how the Celica is now by far the most desirable of the three.
  5. Too bad you can't get an earlier model 5-speed, they have the rear housing that actually isn't so different in terms of shifting mechanism.
  6. Thats been on ebay for years, and I'm not going to be using stock bumpers anyhow.
  7. BTW, anyone have personal contact info for tailgatewagon? He PM'ed me almost a month ago about a motor, but hasn't been online since February 1rst...
  8. Found some latches at Pick'n'pull on a 70's Corolla that should work. They mount nice and flat and their bolt holes are far away from the stock ones on the FF-1 so I won't have any overlap issues (FYI, the stock screw holes were just drilled into the frame, no actual threads for bolts or anything). Also took the window squeegees from the Corolla since they were in perfect shape. Gonna take some work to get them to work, but I think they will do just fine. Still waiting for my window channels though...
  9. You OK? You sent me that PM about the engine, but you haven't been online since the first of the month.

  10. Looks like Datsun 510 2-door window latches might work... Anyone have a pair of those lying around?
  11. The whole thing is brittle and about to break, both of them. That his full screen name?
  12. Alright folks, I'm having issues installing the rear side windows, one of my levers is broken and I'm concerned the non-broken one is about to break. They are made of REALLY brittle plastic and I'm concerned, so I'd like to replace them. Plus, I accidentally filled the holes for them at some point, so the holes for these are gone. Making new holes for different versions of these would be OK since I don't have any holes right now. Heck, I'm not even sure what to call these, anyone know the technical name? FYI, I pulled some off of a later model Loyale, but they won't work. Way too different.
  13. Which specific weather stripping are you talking about?
  14. If it really is 59k miles, clean, rust free and a straight body, its worth over 1k easy. But its not a pre-smog car, so its not worth too much in California (saw you are in the Sierra Nevada).
  15. Surprise Update: Got a early B-day present, some door/window edge trim seal (bulb seal, molding, whatever you want to call it) from Amazon.com. $35 for 20 feet, not bad. Still need another one for the driver side door: I tried to install the side rear windows, but I realized I filled the holes for the hinge Its also a pain in the rump roast to install these windows without chipping the paint! Its not as easy as it looks. As for the door windows, I still need some window channel felt in order to install the frames. And of course the trunk seal too.
  16. So I added up all the receipts I've saved over the years for this car today. Total: $36,000 That includes the over $25,000 for the bodywork/paint. It does NOT include the purchase price of the car (not much) or all the extra things I didn't keep receipts for (Paper towels, disposable gloves, gas money for all things related, etc.).
  17. Actually, I talked to someone today who said re-sleeving the motor won't be a huge deal if I disassemble it myself (not a problem). Might be cheaper than expected, but I still can't afford to do it at this point.
  18. Seen it before, but I saw this video over on the side... Most bad-rump roast 360 EVER!!!
  19. I don't have the money for that now, and I still haven't disassembled it either.
