  1. You know, after looking closely at these pics, its definitley a EA71 shortblock with EA63 dual port heads, you can see the overlap in places. I'm curious how they accomplished this...
  2. No, not really. The rear suspension is one long tube with a brake in the middle. You cant "push" the bearings out of it, you need to pull them out, but the installation tool won't work like that. Nothing much to show right now, just parts in boxes. That and I had food poisoning today keeping me from working on the car today :-\
  3. You mean like this EA motor? http://www.ttrsracing.com/subie.htm
  4. Well in that case, i'm more curious about that Weber intake manifold, since it was designed as an upgrade for the dual-carb setup on the sport models, and it would be easier to use since it wouldn't require the complicated throttle system... But finding one on the other hand, probably WAY more difficult than finding a regular dual-carb setup.
  5. I thought we were talking something different than the regular dual-carb setup?
  6. The FSM requires a special installation tool, and only mentions installation not removal...
  7. Is that the only photo you have? Its hard to see whats under that huge airbox...
  8. Well I finally got the suspensions dismantled (IE tie rods removed). Now there are the funny tie rod bearings in the large suspension pieces that will keep me from being able to clean up the suspension well until they are removed Plus, the hubs... The two ball bearings on the front hubs and the tie rod ball bearing... Those suckers just WON'T come out! At least I got the EA61 shortblock disassembled finally. I had to unbolt the con rods while the block was split and remove the pistons in reverse of how i'm supposed to (IE removing the sleeves first) but it made it easier, since I was able to tap out the sleeves afterwards from inside. Now the heads + shortblock halves need a pressure washer bath for sure! Yuck!
  9. Ya, you can't direct link from that site. You have to re-host them.
  10. Its not mine, that photo is from some Japanese dude who owns it. And if I had one, I certainly wouldnt be selling it
  11. Since this is still "the" weber thread... Any info on this sucker??? Found here: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/ultimatetarga&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dultimatetarga%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
  12. Looks like an DCNF series maybe? Doesnt really matter, what really matters is that intake manifold! Lets you run any of the synchronous, 2 barrel, downdraft carburetors out there Now we need to find out if anyone can find one... (ya right)
  13. Yes/No? (the funky writing is a watermark from this illustration online but I modified it a bit)
  14. What am I missing here? I've only found the one page with exterior pics...
  15. I'd say its worth $500 for sure, with those custom dual-intake ports and oil sump, but i'm not thrifty like most USMB folks... Honestly, all you need is the shortblock from that EA71 you bought Crabman and this motor would run for sure. I have no idea what heads those are, if they are some special EA71 dual-ports, or if they are EA63 dual ports. Its a very interesting and confusing at the same time engine setup...
  16. I just saw this via google, thought someone might find it interesting... http://www.ttrsracing.com/subie.htm Any clue which 4port heads are on that EA71 block?
  17. I don't have my own tester, but if it is only 1psi off then its not a huge deal.
  18. Oh and here is the motor, I posted in my FF-1 thread but ill post these here too: I'm fairly certain this is a wet-sleeve block... I saw the other reman EA63 they are auctioning on Ebay right now, and that was a 8xx,xxx engine code, so I presume it was a wet-sleeve as well.
