Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...

OK, your comment about accessories got me looking... I went through my vast array of images and found out something about that switch. It appears to be ONLY on the "Deluxe" model in 1970. I have a Deluxe model car. However, I still can't figure out what it is! Here is a photo of it: -

There is no wiring going to the E-brake in my car. Some cars it shows having it, but mine didn't. No, don't have a rear defogger either. -

For those who were asking, here are some wiring diagrams. None of them exactly match the car: -

The splice looks factory, but I think someone did have a go at the wiring in this car at some point. Well that makes sense for the light, but I still can't figure out the switch. I think the big question I have is whether or not to keep it... -

Why would a brake warning light have a switch? -

OK, I traced back the wires for that thing... 1 wire goes straight to the brake proportioner (passanger footwell) The other wire goes to a spot where it splices into 3 other wires: 1 goes to the gold fuse/turn signal switch thing 1 goes to the dome light wiring 1 goes to the old radio/cigarette lighter area Any ideas what it does??? -

Does anyone know what this is? The black dot on the front is supposed to be where a bulb shows light through, and there is a switch underneath. It has 3 wires going to it, but I can't find it on any of the factory diagrams or parts/service manuals. -

Finished the brake lines and did some brake bleeding. I'll probably have to do it again after seeing if anything leaks (I think there might be a leak). Also got a couple other things done in the engine bay, but on other good news I might have a radiator soon Bad news is I still don't have anyone to help with the wiring so I don't know when that will get done (if ever)... -
Do an email password request.

It was up and down all day.

I'd say the new owner should enter it, but credit the builder in the post as the one who built the car and if it wins. That way both can win

Just need a few more entries to get this party started! I know there are more awesome lifted scoobs out there that haven't applied yet.

Just got back my custom made brake lines Its hard to tell, if the radiator isn't too wide It can slide over to the passanger side some to fit the hose. But another option could be have that outlet modified at a radiator shop. -
Your wagon is sick, and only 85k miles too Thanks for posting it!

That 13 1/2 is including the upper and lower brackets right? Ya, I know about that hose... Not sure how well it will fit with that side location but I'd have to have it to check it. -
I know there isn't a lot of interest for NASIOC over here, but their Top Scoob contests have kind of taken a life of their own as a separate entity all together. They even have a separate Facebook page now. Anyway, this month's contest is for LIFTED Subaru's and I know there are a lot of awesome lifted Scoobs here, and ANY model of Subaru's are allowed so feel free to nominate whatever you have! Make sure to follow the rules in the first post, but I'd certainly like to see some old school Scoobs in this contest for sure http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2214247 Top Scoob website: http://www.topscoob.com/ Their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/topscoob

No filler neck, outlet on the wrong side, no mounts I can actually use... Ya, that one wont work. -

That doesn't sound like something I want to try... I mean, I can cut and modify the brackets no problem. But the core of the bigger radiators is as big as the space I have which means theres no room for it to mount anywhere. If I had one on hand I could test fit it and have a better idea, but then theres also the issue of fitting a fan... I need a rather skinny fan too. -

Here is a more graphical representation of the space I actually have to work with: This photo shows the underside of the hood where the silver looking bare metal brace I have is in place. It just fits perfect within the hood, nothing can on on the front of it or top of it without hitting the hood. HOWEVER, I could mount the radiator somehow to the rear of the bracket. And here is a photo of the car with the grill and valence on. Had to put them on to make sure of clearances for the radiator. I actually have been using boxes to check distances and such as to what angles the radiator can sit at and how it will fit.
