  1. been a super busy summer but slowing down I am up for meting and actually doing it if anyone is still interested
  2. 78 brat , ea81 with a dr 4 speed, dual exhaust, 6 lug conversion, 4 inch lift, new tires, paint, and bed liner, and it is a soft top. still have lots of work to do to make everything handle and stop rattling. I can't find new struts for this thing at all.
  3. I ran into the same problem but have not fixed it yet. for now I have a clunk when I turn from the double knuckle turning over
  4. 78 brat. ea81 with 4speed d/r tranny, dual exhaust which is currently cut off a touch short. roll on bedliner and shiny new paint. 4" lift and different shocks in rear. has a custom soft top that also snaps on and is totally water tight. Still have some carb issues and motor needs some oil seals replaced. Also did the six lug conversion with 15 inch wheels and brand new 215 tires
  5. I am game for this. I also have two 1.6 motors that run and two four speed tranny's that I don't need if anyone in the area wants. I live in the CDA area
  6. is that the one that was for sale in spokane/coeur d'Alene if it is that used to see it all over. they drove it pretty hard but it looked cool
  7. here is my brat loaded down when I went camping over in montana. one of the scariest drives I have ever been on since the front end was so light it had delayed steering. I tried to make the picture larger but the quality was terrible
  8. okay I will try that, unfortunately I damaged a pair of $80 shocks trying to make them fit, and they didn't and now I can't return them.
  9. cut out the rubber in the bottom attachment? the part with the wings? I seen the pics of the upper mount you made but not the bottom if you did anything there
  10. 78 brat, stock 1.6 and a 4 speed, just put fresh paint and 4 inch lift on it. It has a removable soft top also. I have a 1.8 and a d/r 4 speed that will go in this spring. I sanded some cabinet doors for a friend to get the car. the lift is not on yet in these pics
  11. looks good man, I hate and love seeing builds like this. I only hate it because it took me almost three weeks just to build a lift for my old brat, and I had to make some pieces three times. nice work though
  12. just throwing this in the thread so someone doesnt make the same mistake I did, I have a 78 brat and the monroe shocks that were in this thread will not work on it because the lower portion is different. I am on my third set of shocks trying to find something to work. Once I actually find some the lift is complete.
  13. I finished the paint job on my 78 brat, put the roll on bed liner in yesterday and am making the last two pieces for my four inch lift today. hoping that by the end of the week I can have it on and get wheels and tires ordered. I will get some pics out soon, the paint turned out good for a rookie
  14. seen on an old post that you had a used weber carb for an ea71. Do you still have it? If you do I am in Otis Orchards
